Night Wonderers

Brigitte mouthed a "sorry" to Rock before explaining to Lutia. "What I meant was that although some nymphs are apparently not very well liked, I have come across many kind nymphs. I haven't known one to be mean at all." She hoped that Rock would excuse Lutia's absentmindedness. All kids were like that at one time or another, right? She highly doubted that he would be angry with the young girl.

"Thats becuase they have a bad reputation from myths and stories spread about them." Akia said, rejoining the group. "They were origionally spread to keep people away from nymphs so they would be protected from hunters of magical creatures of sorts."  

[Groucho and Karl]

Fenrick sheathed his blade and trudged on. He stopped and gave a listen to the surroundings. "Something doesn't sound right..." He said. As he finished, three large lions sprang from thundergroth. They were normal lions, except where their middle quarters should be, there is a goat head that can spit venom. Instead of a tail, it has a snake. Fenrick fired an arrow from his ravenbow at one of them. It lodged itself between the eyes of the goat. The goat died, but the lion and the serpent stayed alive. He sliced at one with his blade and it bounced harnmlessly off the lion's hide.

Brigitte's eyes widened slightly. "It's been ages since I've seen a chimera... This place is, no doubt, filled with nothing but darkness..." Her voice drifted off somewhat and her mind went on a journey of its own. Within a few seconds, though, she realized that it was Akia's voice that had spoken about Kyoko's people. She smiled warmly at him, but didn't get down on of Faith. She felt it necessary to stay with Lutia despite her want to greet the angel.

Lutia screamed.

Immediately, Ewan sprung into action. Being the one of the only two not on horseback, he was able to whip out his greatsword and lunge at one of the chimeras, the one Fenrick had dispatched the goat's head on. His blade was deflected by the beast's enchanted hide, causing him to overbalance. His flank was open to an attack, Elki had managed to slide off Ginger quickly enough to raise her dagger as the lion's head closed in, causing the chimera to fall back from it's attack.

Elki's head spun. She had the power of word-weaving now, but she didn't know if they would have an effect on a beast like the chimeras. It was worth a try, and she frantically tried to string words together to get a projected outcome. Suddenly remembering a spell from her tome, she tried describe the desired effect in words.

"Using power stored within, improve my blade to pierce their skin!" she shouted, holding up her knife. A pale aura began to radiate from her knife, and when the chimera thought she was distracted, she thrust it directly between its eyes.

Score! Sure enough, the blade slipped into the creature's main head and into its brain. As Elki tried to remove her knife, Ewan pinned the snake head of that same chimera to the ground with his blade, not able to inflict any real damage, but enough to keep his sister protected as she worked.

"How did you do that?" he asked, seeing his sister in a different light.  

[Akia-RP]

"Feathers, form!" Akia shouted, the feathers on his back dispersing and forming in his hand a pole like weapon to take on a second chimera closing in. it lunged at him and he knocked it aside with the pole like structure. He swung the pole at the creatures head, but it ducked and lunged at Akia. He stepped aside, but not i enough time to avoid getting scratched.

"Don't let them get her, love," Brigitte said to Faith as she swung down to join the fray. She knew that leaving Lutia there was a risk, but the sooner the battle ended, the better. She drew her weapon and quickly blocked the chimera that made a lunge at her throat. Its teeth hit the metal of her blade with a clash before it fell back and attempted to charge again. Its claws tore into her flesh, but it didn't phase her. She merely staggered back and prepared herself for another attack.

Fenrick sheathed Edoc'Sil and pulled out the raven bow. He jumped intot the air and fired. About 50 arrows sprouted in the lion's throat. Fenrick jumped down and stepped on the serpents neck really close to it's head as to immobilize it. He shot at the goat.  

[Akia-RP]

Akia swung once again at the chimera, smacking it to the ground. Then he brought the pole at full force down upon it's lion head, smashing the skull. After he swung at the skull of the goat head, smashing it in too, then finishing up with the snake head.  

[Angelicos Flame]

Rock got off his own horse and pulled out his bow handle, energy already gushing out. ''CLEAR THE WAY OR BE DESINTERGRATED!'' Rock shouted to everyone. He pulled the string of his bow. He shut his eyes and muttered ancient words. The arrow's energy started to spin, the bow changed from yellow to a green, the arrow followed. Along the arrow, blue lines, spiraling around the arrow flowed to Rock's hand from the bow. The arrow sized up. Rock opened his eyes and stepped up in front of all the mounts.

Fenrick jumped into the air and leaped from tree to tree. He sdtopped in midair an waited for Rock to blow the chimeras to itty bitty bite-sized pieces.

''Everyone behind me, before I unleash this one... It'll be more destructive than anything you'll ever see. The only safe haven against it it being behind the shooter before the second effect comes up. The arrow doesn't cause the damage itself, in fact it's harmless. It's the second effect that'll make everyone's jaw drop...'' Rock said serenly. He had a calm, unstressed face, almost as if he was sleeping, but he was talking and standing, it was obvious he wasn,t really sleeping. Just very concentrated to the point where it didn't show.

Fenrick flew over behind rock, grabbing Lutia and Elki from where they stood and flew them back behind Rock.

((Was Ewan also in battlefield? Cuz it'd be wierd if I'd kill the reason why were going so far from the forest =P))
