38 or 43/53 hp, Dragon Plant challenged, +2 defenses until start of next turn

STANDARD ACTION

"Twyla, when we're done here, I need you to take a look at Valac. I think the stress got to him!" Revenge would try to shout at the gnome from over/around the Dragon Plant. Getting fed up in trying to communicate this to her, he would sigh in frustration and just attempt to stab the creature instead.

Quote:
Enfeebling Strike, 21 vs Dragon Plant's AC (23 vs AC if it's bloodied by this point). If it hits, 15 damage and the Dragon Plant takes -2 to attack rolls until the end of my next turn.

ACTION POINT

Revenge would then tighten his guard, trying to brace himself against the Dragon's attacks.

Quote:
Revenge spends his second wind and a healing surge, regaining 13 hit points.

Map Details: The brown dots are tree trunks and they are blocking terrain, but are not hard corners. The dark green patches represent thick patches of underbrush and are difficult terrain and provide partial cover where they take up an entire square. Rocks taking up more than one square provide blocking terrain but are not hard corners. The rocks in a single square are difficult terrain and provide partial cover to small creatures or prone medium creatures. The meat is not hindering terrain.

Initiative order
Dragon Plant: -4 to hit; marked; Players heal 5 hit points on each successful hit.
Kuori: HP 43/43
Twyla: HP 20/42; Bloodied; Slowed, save ends
Valac: HP 41/57; Regen 2; +2 saving throws; Slowed, save ends
Revenge: HP 43/53 +2 defenses
Animated Plants:
Shayne: HP 41/41

The Dragon Plant takes quite a beating as everyone lands their attacks. Valac and Revenge feel inspired to Twyla's inspirational song and attack (Each heal 5 hit points) Though the creature is starting to look quite hurt its ferocity did not seem to lesson. The dragon plant begins to rampage. It charges over Twyla, Valac and Revenge but they all mange to dodge a nasty n** by its serrated maw. However, after charging away the creatures turns around and (action point) breaths its terrible poisonous breath on everyone. Revenge once againgf shields himself from the poisonous attack but Valac and Twyla are both once again coated in the numbing poison (15 damage and slowed save ends.)

Twyla wasn't quick enough to avoid being blasted in the face with poison, but she managed to make her way up to the Dragon Plant and attack!

"As I stab into your hide,
A friend appears now at my side!"

There was a flash of light--and Valac would appear right next to the creature.

((Move to N21.

Standard: MBA vs the Dragon Plant: 25 vs AC, 10 damage, 5 thp to Valac.

No Action: Lesser Dimensional Step: 4 dmg, and Valac teleports to N18.))

As Twyla stabs her blade deep into the Dragon Plant, sap-like blood gushes from the wound. (bloodied!) The creature lets out a ferocious roar in pain. ThHe forest seems to respond to its anguish. The trees rustle around the clearing and 5 new animated plants sprout up from the ground and attack the players.

(Valac's turn)
PostPosted: Thu Sep 22, 2016 3:52 pm
Valac looks around bewildered and furious as he didn't expect to be teleported but soon refocused his anger on the Dragon Plant before him as his wounds continued to regenerate.

Sniffing the air Valac's tiefling instincts set in and even stronger so in his transformed state as he knew the enemy was wavering. Then with a blood freezing scream Valac throws himself and his huge sword at the Dragon Plant going after that final blow to finish his enemy.

Then in a fit of anger Valac swipes at the Dragon Plant with the claws grown on his finger tips causing some minor damage.

"Gae raeq nur mnaez za!" Valac continued to shout in abyssal.

(In order: Regen 2, 21 to hit vs ac Howling strike damage: 24, Demonic Frenzy procc'ed off that (randomly determine target creature from adjacent, aka dragon plant) Demonic frenzy damage: 5.)(Saved vs slow)

48/53 hp, Dragon Plant challenged

MOVE ACTION

"Ugh, I hate chase scenes" Revenge would mutter as he turned and clanked after the escaping beast.

Quote:
Revenge moves to O20, using 4 spaces of movement.

STANDARD ACTION

"That's some handy tricks you've got there, Twyla Rosanna!" Revenge would say as he regrouped with the others. "I'm unfortunately not that flashy."

Twirling his halberd above his head, he would try to catch the Dragon Plant off guard as he brought the blade down across its hide.

Quote:
Glorious Charge, 27 vs DP's AC. On a hit, it takes 17 damage, and Revenge heals 5 damage (already added to my hit points). Regardless of a hit or miss, Twyla and Valac each regain 4 hit points. As a reminder, Glorious Charge is just a name; charging with it is optional!

MINOR ACTION

"... unless I need to be," he would add with a smirk and a wink, reaching out and placing a gauntleted hand upon Twyla's head and once more filling her soul with a chilling healing effect, and Sehanine's grace.

Quote:
Lay on Hands on Twyla. Revenge spends one of his healing surges, and Twyla regains hit points as if she had spent a healing surge.

Valac: HP 39/57; Regen 2; +2 saving throws;
Revenge: HP 31/53
Animated Plants:
Shayne: HP 41/41

Valac and Revenge both bury their blades into the Dragon plants wooden body causing it to roar in anger. The creature is beginning to look quite beat up now but show no sign of backing down. The animated plants shuffle forward towards the adventures but their attacks are clumsy with the only one being hit was poor Twyla (6 damage, grabbed) The Dragon plant once again lashes out at both Valac and Revenge hitting both for 18 and 17 damage respectively.

As the plants rushed at her Kuori exclaimed, "I knew it!" She shifted back (Z21) and fired off two shots, not wanting to ignore her quarry, the first went to the Dragon, the second to a plant (P2). She activated her Oaken skin to prevent the other plant from damaging her (Damage resist 4 for the rest of the encounter.)

27 vs Dragon for 11 dmg
25 vs P2 for 14 dmg
Dmg resist 4 for the encounter

"Oh no, you don't!" snapped Twyla as she felt the vines creep around her again, pinning her down. She whipped around with Tinsel in hand, rending the plant as she did so. As her blade cut into the plant, she sang out to Revenge.

"Here's help for my paladin friend,
Let's bring this fight now to an end!"

She paused then to take a breath. The poison was still dogging her, slowing her down.

((Standard: MBA vs. Plant 5; 31 vs AC; 12 damage. +5 temporary hit points to Revenge.

Saving throw vs. Slowing: 3! FAILED! ))

Valac swung his sword lazily still achieving to hit but his hit was a bit lacklustre compared to previous swings. He must be getting tired.

"S'es laer't esaeu gia?" Valac growled panting slightly.

(Regen 2, Howling strike 21 to hit vs DP (heal 5 cus of hit), Damage 16.)

31/53 hp, 5 temp HP, Dragon Plant challenged

STANDARD ACTION

"Watch your back!" Revenge quickly called out as Twyla chanted to/for/about him. Waiting for an opportune moment, Revenge would raise his halberd up with both hands and stab downward at the plant behind Twyla, dispatching it.

Quote:
Enfeebling Strike on P3, CRIT vs a minion. Waste of a perfectly good nat 20.

"Can't let the bard fall. Who else will regale people about Valac's gibberish-filled heroic rampage?" Revenge would then turn once more towards the beast and brace for its attack, pausing only to kick at the plant nipping at his heels.

Kuori nails one of the plants chasing after her, killing it while simultaneously placing an arrow into the side of the dragon plant. Revenge and Twyla both mange to cut down a viscus shrub while Valac continues to wail on the dragon plant with his full blade.

The animated plants move up and attack the adventures they are closest to but cant seem to mange to get a hit in. The Dragon plant shifts back and once again breaths on Twyla, Revenge and Valac with his poisonous breath. This time both Revenge and Twyla are hit (19 poison damage) and find the gas rending them sluggish.

Twyla coughed up what felt like her last lung as the poison sprayed her down again. She felt groggy and slow, and realized with a shock that she was in serious trouble. She acted fast.

"It's work to fight this beastly beast,
And keep on keeping up my song!
But all I have to do, at least,
For now is keep on keeping on!"

She grinned as she felt the surge of strength come back to her, but she reached apologetically towards Revenge. "I'm sorry! I was about to keel over! But I haven't forgotten you!" And as she struck at the dragon plant, he would feel her words form almost a protective shield around him--albeit a thin one.

((Minor: Word of Healing on Twyla! She regains 15 hp. Twyla's out of heals!

Standard: MBA vs. the Dragon Plant. 29 vs AC; 10 damage. Revenge gets 5 thp.))

((Saving throw: 19! Twyla is no longer slowed!))
