The Machine [Open/Accepting]

"Alright then. Henry, dear, do you mind showing Mr. Blackrose to the phones?" Lianne asked.

"With all do respect, I should probably head back and help fortify the windows in the west hall as soon as possible." He replied, trying to weasel his way out of the task.

"Oh yes. Very well. Return to your post. I can show Mr. Blackrose to the phone." Lianne replied.

"But, my lady, you should not travel alone with him. Remember what happened with the Queen of Ghan?" The soldier replied. Lianne sighed.

"Alright..." She muttered, hearing the sound of footsteps nearby.

"Hello, my lady." A nun smiled.

"Beth? Is that you?" Lianne asked.

"The grand priestess remembers me by the sound of my voice? I- I'm honored."

"And you should be." Lianne smiled, taking her hand. "Pray, tell me, are you busy?"

"Not at the moment." She replied.

"Oh good. God sent for you when I needed. Would you go with me to escort Mr. Blackrose to the land lines? Henry is quite busy and I need a pair of eyes." She smiled.

"B-but of course!" Beth replied bashfully. "I thank the heavens for this opportunity." She said, enthusiastically taking Lianne's arm.

Damien followed behind the two women. He wondered if the other guy really had to go fix the windows or if he didn't want to be in Damien's presence. Oh well.

After leading Damien down a few halls, she walked into a blue room and wafted towards the phone. "Here." She said. "Is there anything else I can do for you?"

"Thank you. No, that will be all" Damien said. He then sat down by the phone so that he could make the call.

"Alright then." She replied. "Can you find your way back, or do you want me to wait outside to show you the way?"

"I can find my way back, thank you" Damien replied with a smile. He didn't want the Grand Priestess sticking around while he made his call. He didn't like people listening to him on the phone.

"You're welcome." Lianne replied calmly, not seeing the smile, but the nun with Lianne did. Lianne was led out of the room and down the hall to give Damien his privacy. When they were far out of his hearing range, the nun turned to Lianne.

"He seemed rather courteous. I'm surprised." The nun told Lianne. "He's not a barbarian like I heard."

"Yes. I thank the heavens for that blessing." She sighed. "I don't think my heart could bare it if political conflict arises and war ensues. ... I'm sorry. I've grown tired. Could you take me to my room?"

"Of course." She smiled, leading her down the hall.

((So, I've been watching some mysteries and I just thought up an idea! After all, they are all stuck there. lol. Can you guess where I'm thinking?))

Damien picked up the phone and began calling the twins. He hoped that the line would get through. They hadn't gotten around to tapping all Mt. Angelo communications yet, as far as he knew...and if it turns out no one reported that to him, there would be serious consequences for the offenders.

((Then I guess I'll surprise you.))

The phone rang while Vincent was working carefully on a new project and Valkyrie was working with chemicals. Immediately, the twins looked at each other. Valkyrie set down her beaker and pushed a button that turned the phone on speaker phone. "Hello?" The twins asked in unison as they turned back to what they were doing.

Damien was glad to hear that the twins were fine. "Hello. Guess who it is?" Damien stated into the phone, wanting to play with them a little.

Valkyrie nearly dropped her beaker as Vincent fell backwards, the screwdriver in his hand flying halfway across the room. "D-daddy!" They yelled in unison with excitement. "How was work today?" "Are you having fun?" "What are you up to?" "Did anything exciting happen?" They began with great enthusiasm. They were beyond happy to hear from him.

"Hello you two. Glad to hear you're doing well. Currently I'm stuck at Mt. Angelo City due to the storm passing through, so I just wanted to let you know that I'm safe and the Chief General is too. He's also here. We had some urgent business we had to deal with here. Don't tell people though. I want to do a little experiment. I'm going to call Ms. Ravenstone next. What are you two currently up to?" Damien asked.

"Really? Yeah, it's raining here too!" "We're doing also doing experiments!" "We're making a new efficient energy based on peroxide, which is better for the environment and fairly cheep." "But what kind of experiment are you doing dad?" They asked with intrest.

"Hmm. It's more of a social experiment. A political one too. I can't say what it is right now, but let's just say it will be a good way to see who is truly loyal to me" Damien said. "You're smart kids. You'll figure it out, I'm sure"

"Ok!" They replied in unison. "We won't tell anyone." "Tell us how it goes. We'd like to know!" They replied.
