@Nyx: well, Plots are still going on roughly with the Gryphon group.. And the Hatetalons still exist, however they were never really a heavily RPed group to begin with -- we never really had any actual confrontations with them. So... IDK if the Gryphons where a one time thing or a reoccurring thing (I do know the younger brother gets captured for a while and ends up having kids with Aviania, but Aviania hasn't finished her FIRST breeding lol)
@leez0rz: I don't think its too taboo, however they'd prefer it that the homosexual soquili is capable of doing at least ONE breeding for the sake of the flock.
However, as studies have recently shown IRL, Homosexual people tend to be better at helping care for the group as a whole, since they aren't competing for passing their genetics on, which is why they tend to become more and more common in social species such as sheep, primates, and humans.
A Sister-in-arms would never be cast away for being gay or for 'experimenting', but might make some of the other maress uncomfortable. Stallions, if they aid the flock in someway other than breeding (such as taking up a trade as an artisan, farming, mining, etc) Would be kept, since they are still benificial to the herd. A stallion that lounges around and focuses his attention on other stallions only might find themselves blindfolded and exiled from the harpy lands, unless he is able to provide offspring with a mare despite his preferences, since otherwise he's a drain of precious resources.
So its sort of a strained tolerance of it? As long as they still aide to the continued survival of the Flock. I'm sure Experimentation/bisexuality isn't exactly frowned on or even really questioned, at least I wouldn't THINK... However, if too many members of the flock turn out to be gay, it might be banned by the queen for the sake of the continued survival and growth of the flock, since it IS a herd that is based heavily on the continued survival as a culture and species, and its difficult to do that if no one actually breeds.

Hey guys! biggrin Just discussed something with Dragain that's a modifier to the "Outcast/exhile/escapee/runaway" behavior.
There is now a 'period of passing' where, if they return PEACEFULLY after a few In Character Years they're taken back in without being chased out (Females that had abandoned the flock, possibly in a huff, or wanting to strike out and make their OWN flock cause they had a disagreement with someone in it or to protect their odd little sister who left because she didn't feel she fit in) or killed on sight (Males who left because they either had wanderlust at a young age with nothing to do and was on the edge of Soquilian Puberty, or had left in the mad rush of the mass escape then realized they had actually rather enjoyed life there at the flock and had run simply because everyone else had).
However they start back at square one -- Females are treated like outsider females that are trying to join, regardless of if they had been even BORN there, and need to proove their worth and loyalty, since they've been corrupted by the outside world.
Males get treated with higher suspition, much like a captured enemy (The gryphon brother is an example of a captured enemy.) and don't get to travel to the artisan guilds and whatnot until after they've shown no desire to run/their loyalty in some manor, but rather just... Stay perhaps in a 'trouble makers and new captures' part of the safezone cycle.. That is, IF they are recognized -- if they aren't recognized, they're just brought in like any male and just with the detox period in the trouble makers new captures or being guided around by the mare that captured them to let them get used to the flock.

Throwing Liam out for RP -- I'm especially interested in RP with other male stallions who enjoy their lives, finding ways to be productive and whatnot. :3 Perhaps even a younger, newly-captured male that Liam could talk to and maybe teach a few things.
Liam is a farmer, for the most part, who has an avid interest in beekeeping. biggrin

while Finian's capture rp's not finished just yet.. would it be ok for me to find an rp where he maybe meets a male who enjoys the flock in which he can talk to or something since I plan on him staying with the flock so long s the rp's ICly dated for being after his capture? I figure i'd ask since the boy literally knows no one other than luinil atm

Of course! Backdated Rp in the flock is always welcome, as well as going forwards and backwards in time as long as its kept track of. In the long run Rp is RP and we can order it HOWEVER we want it. biggrin
Cabriole was around during that time period, so he and Finian could be all chatty cathy together 8V

After hours and hours of pouring over the harpy hopeful basket thread, I narrowed my preferences down to ten semi-finalists. IT WAS SO HARD!! There were sooo many wonderful apps and ideas and names and...and AAARGH!!! After MORE torturous hours I managed to whittle my list down to four finalists and rolled the RNG, knowing that any of them would make wonderful owners for a harpy basket. The winner was Nyx Queen of Darkness. She's now the proud owner of this basket.. Congrats Nyx!!!

I would like to toss FInian out for some interactions with other flock members. recently caught he needs some males who can.. sooth his mind and help him to see that the flock's going to be a much fun as he thinks it might be.
or if you have a mare you'd like to have him meet I'm sure he could do with some other female to talk to for a while. really he just needs some flock interactions. lemme know if you're interested either by quoting me in here or pming me on gaia

Kyiyani So, finally got my soquili custom that I hope can be used towards some harpie plotline. If not then that's fine, but the sooner I know the better so I can get him started. 83
While his personality is not fully developed yet, Kyiyani can be regarded as a two-faced character. He's calm, social, and honest on the outside. But on the inside he is always calculating his behaviors and sugarcoating his words to make situations better suit his intentions. So while others can and will call this a selfish habit, Kyiyani will stand firm believing his actions are for the greater good of his comrades. All this boils down to his past and family....though that is yet to be finalized, depending on this plot. 83
Kyiyani and Setsumi are twin siblings born of a wind father and harpie mother (both of which are fictional). However, their relationship had blossomed outside of Harpie territory while the mare was out on a hunt, and instead stumbled on the stallion. Their romance formed under the freedom of the flatlands, not inhibited by her sisterhood regulations or his herd's skittish concerns of the clawed species. The two were at peace, away from the world and enjoying life by their own terms. It didn't take long before they considered having a family, and not long after before the mare became heavy with pregnancy. Wishing to share the news with their respective herds, the two parted ways with plans to meet again soon. Things didn't go as planned though, as the mare gave birth to two baskets during her travel home. With the fragile cargo at her feet and herself stranded far from her homeland, the mother decided to retrace her steps to meet with the stallion.
Halfway through her slow travel, the new mother ended up meeting an early fate. From the skies above, she had been spotted by another of the clawed species. However, this Harpie was from the Hatetalon herd and intended to take the baskets in order to increase their own numbers. The mother put up a fierce fight, but was no match against the cruel tactics of the other harpie. Left for dead, she could only look on as the Harpie took flight with one of the baskets in her grasp. Many hours passed before the stallion found his mate and remaining basket. The scars and scattered feathers were evidence enough for him to speculate what had happened.
Devastated and alone, the stallion took what was left of his family with a hate vowed in his heart against the Harpie species and instilled this perspective on his young son.
^ With that background, I imagine Kyiyani keeping up his father's prejudice against the Harpies...enough so to be considered a rival force. Who knows, maybe he bands together with other winged Soquili or maybe other males that escaped the Sisterhood in a quest for freedom? Perhaps they are a male-focused group in opposition to the female harpies, and make sport of challenging each other? I just figured it'd be an interesting competition to give the harpie herd activity. 83
Let me know! I'm fine with it becoming either a planned herd rivalry, or simply a backstory for my Soquili to develop on his own.
