She says that every time, that nothing will happen to her... But he keeps having the same nightmares! "I-I don't understand! Every dream... it turns into that nightmare... It isn't going away... I don't know why!" Nicholas cried. He wanted to get better, wanted to feel happy again. But this nightmare... it's destroying everything...

Leila sighed and held Nicholas closer. "I'm doing all I can, Nicholas. The sniper's in prison. He's not going to hurt you, or me, ever again. I'm right here, and I'm not going anywhere. I can't fix your nightmares in any other way than I'm trying to."

Nick could tell she was tired of hearing the same thing over and over, but it kept bothering him and haunting him! He's been trying to make it go away but doesn't know how! He coughed a bit, still in a sweat. He looked up at Leila. "I'm sorry for causing so much worry and stress for you..." He said, feeling responsible for everything.

Leila took a cloth from Nicholas's bedside table and wiped the sweat from his brow, murmuring soothingly. "Shh, don't apologize. It's not your fault, love."

Nicholas still felt terrible even with her soothing words. "It's all my fault... I wish I was as strong as you..."

"It is not," Leila retorted. "Don't you dare tell yourself that. And I am not strong. I'm a coward who hides from what she is."

"You are to strong! You stand up for others as well as protect yourself! I can't even protect you from dangers..." Nicholas was holding her pretty tightly now, pulling on her shirt for leverage so he wouldn't lose his grip.

Leila sighed. "You're fine the way you are, Nicholas. You don't need to protect me."

"But what if your ever in danger?" Nick was still scared and overprotective of Leila. He didn't want anything to happen to her ever.

Leila chuckled. "I won't be. The only danger I'll ever be in is of loving you too much," she said, kissing his brow.

Nicholas blushed, but gave a light smile when she kissed his brow. He wished he could kiss her lips, but he didn't want to make her sick.

Leila smiled and stood, pulling Nicholas to his feet and guiding him back onto his bed. "C'mon, love, let's get you back to bed so you can get better, eh?"

Nicholas nodded and smiled. "Alright." He said and let her lead him back to bed.

"Good." Leila pulled the blankets back over Nicholas and gave him another kiss on the brow. "Now rest."

"I love you Leila." Nicholas said to her as she pulled the blankets over him to sleep. His eyes quickly closed and soon enough he was asleep...
