"I think we should all bunk in the lounge instead of separate rooms tonight," said Veni. "The last thing to visit us was a demon that created realistic illusions, restricted our ability to move around the house, and almost burned us to death. Though it was horrible to be together, it was worse to be apart which is what Rosemary and BlackMN were at the beginning. Rosemary was lucky that Muerte was in that sword she was using at the time."

"I was very fortunate to have not been there for this one. I think my mother would agree from the description that we got that this demon would have driven us permanently or at least long term insane." Sephiroth still had both a mental and genetic influence that was trying to take over at the time. Now he only has the later which is much more easy to deal with.

Galantros snapped the blades of his scythe inwards, leaving him with a less deadly staff, but a weapon that was still ready to be used at a moment's notice. Aside from the random pebbles and bits of stone from Nym, he hadn't been able to find anything else out of place himself.

"Yeah, all of us staying together and maybe taking turns with shifts might be a good idea I suppose."

Meanwhile Jacob had been given the immediate area another look over for the umpteenth time.

"Something... something just feels out of place here, and.... I can't place my finger on it. My hunches are rarely, ever, EVER wrong..."

Unwittingly he passed by some of the pens that Duran had messed with for at least the fifth time since they arrived back at THoR, and passed several other items as well. After another half hour or so of feeling like he was going crazy, he gave up, feeling frustrated and giving a loud huff of breath.

A little while later, a portal opened, and Githar along with Minazi and Malos stepped through.

"Hello... we came to give our support. Figured you could use extra help. We brought some extra supplies as well."

Minazi nodded, opening up a storage device and taking out a number of vials, putting them on the coffee table.

"I mixed together some magic enhancers for those of you who cast spells and such. They'll amplify your abilities and make it so it drains your energy much less when making use of magic. Took some time and some fairly pricey components, but it's worth it! Also got some other things."

Malos for his part set down a small cage on the table, and opened it's gate. A familar, small Jr. Pac-Man barked and rushed out at GL, tackling him in the gut. Galantros laughed a bit, and petted the ghost pet. The Pac ghosts looked a little uneasy, but the little pac-man creature just sniffed them and ignored them.

"You're dad thought the little guy could prove dangerous for any unwelcomed guests ever sinced you've tamed him. Also I brought snacks, some basic games to keep us slightly busy so boredom doesn't take over, my knives, and some tunes."

All in all, Githar brought some blood candies and treats for the vampires, as well as his wrist weapons and bladed shoes and various things to repair and tinker with mechanical stuff (Seeing as he knew that Rosemary would most likely be using weaponry, and Githar usually knew his way around most tech fairly decently.). Malos brought what he mentioned, which included some card games, and various energy snacks, and Minazi brought her magic enhancers, some various trinkets and charms that looked pretty and were also functional in a variety of ways.... such as giving non-reapers the ability to take in the ambient energy around them and heal themselves rather slowly over a limited amount of time, stuff that would prevent burns and burn salves, things that would neutralize extreme temperatures (such as lava fiery heat, or artic glacier freezing), and other interesting magic items.... the main things of interest she brought though were the magic enhancers.

"You make that sound like everyone prefers to stay up during the day and sleep at night Galantros. The shifts aren't even a problem: the vampires easily stay up all night, there are some who stay up easily all day, and there are others who require little to no sleep."

Sephiroth started to wander around the house and look at things too. He also checked his own room.

Maybe it's that spell that went off? I know that Sephiroth's feather colors seem to fluctuate in how gray or white they are, but do they seem more gray than they were before we started staying at the Soul Fortress? It could seem that way because we were there for so long and they were lighter there...

"Daphne, would you please go get some linens and pillows and such? And then we'll set up this area better for sleeping." One of Daphne's tasks was to tidy up the rooms when guests left since she lived there.

Nerissa sat with a book on her lap and yawned. Mechanics and soldiers held no interest for her. It was all dull. It seemed lifeless. She rubbed her eyes. When Marcha spoke, she looked up from her nails she had been studying. "Mhm." She agreed, almost disappointed that there was nothing else to be said. She shrugged. Best not let anyone else know that.
Nym, on the other hand, found the Limbo mechanics fascinating. He poured over the books and diagrams with ease. He researched more about these mechanics than the other hounds.

------
"Yes, ma'am." Daphne replied, her immediate subordinate maid side coming out. She rushed to the linen closet, tying her hair into a pony tail as she went.

Daphne gathered the cloth from the closet, neatly stacking it into her arms. She retrieved several pillows as well. She dropped the first load off in the room they had been in before and went to retrieve the second. When she came back, she stood at attention.

Daphne, Rosemary and Veni began to set up beds on the floor. They didn't look at all comfortable but that was to be expected.

-----

While his wife went to the linen closet and with a blood candy in his mouth, Cian watched Jacob. His ears perked to the sound of the necromancer's voice. Cian wished he could help. Too bad he knew no spells that would be effective.

"Is there anything I can do?" Cian asked of both Jacob and Rosemary.

-----
Adira, Banquo and Ophelia's expressions were all the same when the newcomers came through the portal. All three of their heads were tilted, ears perked up to the sound of voices and hearts beating. They all relaxed, however, when they noticed who the new arrivals were. They knew these people. It was okay.
Adira plastered a smile on to her face, although it looked a tiny bit uneasy.Ban yawned a little bit before laying down and resting his head between his paws, keeping an eye on everyone in the room.Ophelia was the only one very visibly tense. She looked bored and her nose was scrunched up. "It reeks in here. The stupid hound."

Sephiroth came back with a sort of oder eliminating air freshener and started to deodorize the house. It was too cold outside for some to open a window and air out the place.

"Be your normal alert calculating paranoid vampire self and go outside and get firewood for all these warmth requiring creatures." This was Rosemary's attempt at being slightly funny.

BlackMN

As it grew closer to bed Marcha looked towards Duran's room and commented about him working hard on whatever he's doing. In a way it sort of worked out since she had asked Salanio earlier if he minded if she kept him company for a while at least tonight. So when Nym and Nerissa retreated, she entered Salanio's room in that transitional reaper form and saw him still studying. She shifted in place a little uncertain for a little while, but then approached him and slowly moved her arms around him to hug him from behind. "Did you want to take a break from that? You still have all day tomorrow for studying and it's getting late."

"Eh? Oh. I think I lost track of time."

Salanio rubbed his eyes, and with some uncertainty, leaned back into Marcha's embrace. Some things were still awkward or unusual for him, but for the most part he was starting to realize that mutual affection had it's benefits. Though he was beginning to wonder if there was a sign of weakness in all of this, as it required a certain amount of guard lowering.

Idly, Sal traced a finger over a holographic image of a soldier's typical yir liquid armored suit.

"It's... interesting. Most don't realize the amount of effort that goes into being an efficient killer. Sure, a bit of bloodlust helps, a little mental unstability here and there spices things up... A taste for torment even. But when you've made as many mistakes in the beginning as I have, you start learning from them... Start trying to examine your next kill before you even have to meet them."

He grinned a little darkly, kissing the back of Marcha's hand, and pointed to the back of the knee joint of the holographic soldier.

"For example... these soldiers are rather well armored, apparently able to take a rather extreme amount of damage as long as the material for the suit is there to fuel it. There's weak points in stuff even as advanced as this though, and sometimes they even blatantly put it up for everyone to see... The joints are hardest to protect, and even if it can deflect some of those weaker projectiles and attacks, the force of the impact can still stumble the wearer of such a suit.

Also, solid and powerful enough strikes here, or here... (he pointed to an area on the soldier's belt, and the neck collar) will damage the suit badly enough to make it leak a fair amount of the material that protects them, softening them up. It'll still try to repair itself, but that liquid it loses is not good for it's owner."

He looked up at Marcha from where she stood behind him, and grinned, only less twisted this time, kissing her hand again.

"But enough talk of killing.... I could certainly use some time away from these studies. Perhaps you'll be ample enough distraction?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 08, 2010 11:52 pm

"Those are still difficult areas to hit...well if you want me to distract you, I hope I don't disappoint." she leaned down and gave him a kiss. "I'm a little surprised you didn't look up other subjects too. However before I distract you, I wanted to show you something I thought an efficient killer like you would enjoy." with one game around him, she leaned forward and inserted something and brought up a short film into view.

------

The next day Duran made them oatmeal with sugar in it for breakfast and they each had their own tiny kithos berry bush. He figured they had never tried anything sweet before. "Everything about that bush even the dirt is edible. If you do not like the sweet flavor eat the oatmeal anyways since I made it for you. If you do not like it simply ask and you can have something other than the tree, but still eat the oatmeal or you get nothing else."

What they didn't know was that a molecule was attached to the sugar one that would for now neutralize the effects of the parasite within them. The parasite would still secrete the stuff, but this would counter it until it left their system. He was still working on obtaining a more permanent solution that would work sort of like an antibody that their own body would start to create itself. In the long run it would appear that the parasite was working normally even though it would have lost its effect on them and, if tested, it would even seem like they had developed the immunity to it instead of being 'vaccinated'. He didn't doubt that he'd have the solution before tomorrow or the end of it. He just had to ponder on how to get it in them without them knowing what he was doing if it couldn't be ingested so that if Heegh interrogated them for any reason he wouldn't 'accidentally' discover a tempering. He already had some ideas come to mind.

"Here you go Nerissa," he said sliding a paper towards her that when she looked at it would show that the dog was indeed her mother. He took a bite of his own oatmeal which had the same stuff in it. Marcha liked mixing several parts of the berry tree including the dirt in her oatmeal so he hadn't put any in it.

Nerissa took a leaf off of the tree. It was definitely sweet. She wasn't sure if she liked it or not. She took a bite of the Oatmeal then proceeded to copy Marcha's example. When she was given the piece of paper, she stared at it for a moment. "So she is our mother." Nee said, seemingly calm.
Nym's ears perked up at the slight tone change in Nerissa's voice. He loved the flavor of the tree. He altogether froze what he was doing however when he heard "mother". He looked up questioningly.

------
Daphne giggled softly at what Rosemary said in response to Cian. It was completely true. He was totally paranoid.

-----

Cian smirked in response, giving a little sarcastic or ironic salute. He quickly went outside and gathered the wood, his vampiric speed allowing him to find it quickly. He wanted a sizable stack so he kept collecting.

-----
Adira sat on one of the made up beds, watching the activity around her. Everyone seemed to have everything in control. She stood and approached Rosemary, softly laying a hand on the other woman's shoulder, "Do you need anything else to be done?" She asked.

Ophelia eyes bore into Sephiroth, not meaning anything other than gratitude for the air purifier. "Thank you." She commented, "That is much better."
PostPosted: Thu Jun 10, 2010 1:48 am

Sal froze in mid-bite, not quite liking this sweet meal fully, but not wanting to go hungry either. He swallowed what he had in his mouth at the moment, and stared at Nerissa.

"Did you say what I thought you said? Who is our mother?"

- - - - - -

Thinking that nobody should be alone when doing even simple tasks as gathering firewood at this point, Dieamos released a few of his shadow goblins to follow Cian around as he worked. The flying demons chittered to themselves, making sure the vampire would be safe as he collected more and more wood.

With everyone settled and the house checked once more (still not able to find anything out of place much to Jacob's annoyance), they began to try and find ways to pass the time.

Galantros, a bit bored and not in the mood to play his games at the moment, took out a musical instrument of his he hadn't played in ages... it resembled a scythe blade vaguely in shape, and was flute like in design... placing it towards his face, wisps of colorful energy floated to the thing, making serene, quiet music.

Malos got out a deck of playing cards, and started up a game with some people, inviting Adira and her hounds to play with them.

Ralis, the Honored ranked angel, talked with Thas for a brief moment, and had all the other angels follow him outside, Rosemary and Sephiroth included. There, he began to show them various ways to manipulate holy energies at their levels. Such things included blessing and purifying water to make it refined holy, to cause caustic wounds against demonic entities, healing wounds minor and moderate, focusing their energies at certain points or areas, how to accurately tune into prayers, "Zipping" for those who hadn't been taught it, and more. Ralis proved to be one of the more patient and kind teachers rather than some of the ruder sorts that had previously been stationed at the Soul Fortress for who knows how long.

Githar and Minazi chatted amongst themselves, and Githar checked the holo-gamer, making sure it was tamper free.

Sylin... well, he observed mostly, and talked with Dieamos using little words about their past, and what the future could hold. He was roped into playing the card game eventually with the others though, and was even seen eating a few of the blood candies after popping off a portion of his mask to allow it into his mouth.

Eztli during this time stayed near Adira as often as he could, feeling responsible for guarding her ever since the black merchant incident.

- - - - - -

"I believe I have a full house. The jackpot of candies is mine now, right?" Sylin seemed to smile just a little behind that filtration mask of his as he raked the pile of treats towards him, Malos rolling his eyes and dealing another hand to everyone. Sylin looked over to Rosemary as a question entered his mind.

"Rosemary.... how long have you practiced with firearms?"

Inky, the little pac-ghost meanwhile, had perched himself on Phe's head, doing a little wiggly dance from there, and from shoulder to shoulder.

A poring by the name of phil hopped around, then suddenly shlorped onto Cian's foot, making joyful bubbling sounds as it looked up at him. It was wanting to be fed.

Nerissa's eyes took in her brother--her two minutes older brother. "You may want to ask him that." Her eyes looked toward Duran.
------

Cian smiled his thanks to the other demons helping him. As he started a puzzle with Daphne, something landed on his foot.

Daphne rushed to the kitchen at once when she saw the poring land on Cian's foot. She returned carrying something that looked bright red and tasty. She threw it to Phil.

-----
Adira agreed to only watch the game, unsure of how to play.
When she felt Eztli's mood, however, she shifted uncomfortably, wishing to know why he felt as he felt "You know you don't have to feel responsible for me or guilty, Eztli." She commented softly.

Ophelia lie with her head between her paws. She didn't care that Inky was wiggling on her. She thought he was cute.

"I do not know what you are talking about," said Duran sipping his coffee. "Refresh my memory."
