Plot idea:
I would love for my Hatetalon, Thessaly, to come across a Flock harpy escorting a newly captured male back to their lands and have Thessaly try to
"intercept" him (unsuccessfully of course).
Could establish some grounds for the tension between Hatetalons and the Flock, as well as traumatizing the poor male. Perhaps that would ingrain a distrust of all harpies? Or perhaps it would make his Flock captor look like his savoir?

Hi all, I've just stopped by to offer some plot ideas~ 3nodding
Mei Silja and I were recently talking about plots for the Cerynei Herd [link], and thought it might be a neat idea to include some of the flock members in a plot we'd love to see happen. We want one of the second-gen members that was raised by the herd to show that he can carry the baton when the elder generation is gone... What this would require is a bit of small-scale battling and eventual delegation.
Enaran is the target of this operation, as the foster son of the herd protector and the mistress of ceremonies (biological son of the master and mistress of ceremonies). What we are going for is for him to befriend a little harpy mare, and for them to run away together (romance at this point is an option, though Enaran will probably be in love with her). If the harpies come after them, the Cerynei herd will shelter them; Enaran's family and the harpy's family should have at least a small clash, or we could move it all the way up the scale - a herd-wide battle on both sides. When Enaran and the harpy see what's going on, they step into the center, stopping their respective herds... And preaching peace. If this doesn't work to convince and pacify the herds that fighting really is not the answer, the harpy can take Enaran back to the Flock with her, or she can stay with him; he will eventually escape the Flock, probably with his sister's help.
Most of all, what we'd like to see is the harpies' realization that other breeds can be as strong as they are - the Cerynei will fight with antlers and hooves vs. teeth and talons to protect their own. When the battle ends, we'd love for the Cerynei and the Flock to part as potential allies for the continued strength of both sides, if possible.
We still have yet to run this by our herd, but thought it would be a good idea to ask you all if you'd be interested <3 So let me know what you think... If the Flock is looking for allies, I just thought I'd let you know that we are too, and this could be a big, fun way to go about doing making a connection between the two. X3 Romance is not necessary for this plot, just so you know, though we would need someone to volunteer their girl to run off, temporarily or not. Enaran is a big, innocent, sweetie-pie, so... No one but him should worry about heartbreak.

Sorry for the wait everyone: things have been hectic lately -- I can answer what I can answer without asking Dragain. If I can't answer without asking Dragain, I'll try to get an answer to you right away.
@Lysia: @_@ Care to start a Rp between Finian and Cabriole? I'm semi-sorta backlogged due to an arts and craft show I'm making stuff for and getting ready for everything and everything I was doing before hand..
@ Kyiyani: Another rival group would be fun, especially if there are altercations on occasion and conflict. <3
@Kamiki: Oo, that does sound like fun. I cant really be involved in it yet since I want to get at least a little foal RP for Laveda before I start doing both foal and adult Rp and help, but if no mare picks up this plot concept, I'll happily rp it out. biggrin
@ Mahogany:Oh my, this one is a bit difficult to answer, but I had asked Dragain a relatively similar question, mostly about alliances with other Herds.
The Flock is NOT looking for allies in any herd at the current moment, especially in non-Amazonian (Aka: Female dominant/Male Disallowed and/or submissive) herds.
They have no issue with non-harpies or thinking of them as 'weak' - heck a large majority of the flock are unicorn/unicorn mixes/flutter mixes - but they do not trust other herds with the current Queen. This may change in the future, but isn't really allowable at the current moment.
Non-Harpy mares are still mares, and once they prove themselves by Providing a set amount of food or materials, winning or tieing at a couple spars, and either capturing a stallion or win a sparring match with a volunteer from the Harem or Non-lethal gladatorial stallion to prove they are capable of providing for the flock (Just like Flock born Mares are required to do before being considered Truly adult) are sisters in arms regardless of species (excluding Skinwalkers). There are alternative ways of providing for the Flock without such actions, such as producing so much in the guild/farming/etc, giving birth to flock born (not "harpies", but children raised in the Flock's culture), and Dancing for so many hours etc. Non-Harpies have to prove themselves just as Harpies do, but afterwards all non-skinwalker species are equal.
It's males that are seen as weaker emotionally and mentally than females.
If a younger, adult mare wanders out and leaves with a stallion, she wouldn't be welcome back to the flock until the passing period was over, and by that point she'd have to reenter as a newcomer, and without the male. If the herds WERE fighting, and the male and female came into the middle of it, and tried to stop it and call peace, the mare would be chased out as a traitor for siding with the Unclean herd, and quite possibly kill the male in the battle since he is an outsider stallion protesting in the middle of a battlefield, and would be seen as an enemy.
So while a mare CAN run away with a stallion rather than capture him, something that HAS happened in the past with the ones that don't feel as if they 'belong' and desire to wander and explore, she'd no longer be a member of the flock. For the current setup, that sort of massive Romeo and Juliette type plot that effects the entire flock is NOT a possible plot; they are not going to change their culture any time soon because of a traitor and a stallion. That sort of change would have to form from the inside out. As it is, the culture is already adapting to be friendlier to the males within it, but it wouldn't so openly welcome outside herds.
No offense is meant, however as a Herd Meta, that's just not a currently plausible plotline in its entirety from what I have learned by my constantly bugging Dragain about various plots that 'might' be asked about in the future since I've been helping her with officially responding to the Flock thread since she's been busy at This Is Halloween and didn't want the flock to die off while she was distracted and lacking a Soquilian Muse.
Piece parts might work, such as the kidnapping and rescue, and if a mare wanted to, running off to be young and, in the minds eye of the flock, "Stupid, weak and corruptible," with a kidnapped stallion, but the alliance? Currently impossible.

My girl Galla Sile is ready and willing to capture and I'd love for her to have a fail attempt at capture also.

ICly, she's older than the recent batch of foals. She was conceived before the mass escaped, and can RP any captures since the beginning of the Artisian Guild. (Also as a reference she's about the same age as Mind's Taraab)

For the beginning, I imagine Kyiyani just banning together with others as a normal herd. Although his later intentions and minor 'dislike' of the Harpies will be made known over time. Since I don't want to step on any toes with storylines/plots, I'll always ask about potential ideas here first before acting on them.
At the most, I can only see Kyi trying to 'bring freedom' by saving the occasional captured Soquili every so often. (Of course with the outcome and encounter already discussed between all players.)
But for now, it'll just be regarded as a regular old herd. n_n

Reason for joining: Damir is a special character to me. He's what I normally don't portray in my male characters; quiet and gentle. And when I was thinking of plots for him, I had no idea what in the world I was going to do with him. Then while, as I often do, I was scoping through the harpy guild/plot thread, I realized he'd be a perfect slave boy, being a mute (no back talk), easily pleased, likes to please others, and happy being the lesser role. I want him involved in the harpy culture BEFORE adulthood so that he's more than likely to get used to it, more open to it, and more easily adjusted.
How did he end up being captured?: The mare Galla Sile is the one to capture Damir, and while we're still working EXACTLY how its going to happen, it will be with out the use of violence or heavy force, possibly with one of his brothers a witness. -see the next section as to why*- XP
Will you be escaping later? If yes, how?: More than likely not. It depends on the connections he forms while in the flock. Galla Sile is planned on being his first "friend" in the flock, and through her, he's going to grow to love the culture that the Harpies live by. (in a none romantic way) If he's chosen by a mare for a "protected pet", the more likely he'll stay but even if not, he may just choose this life over his family. *Also, if its okay with the idea of it, his brothers, and possibly other family stallions, find the flock and try to rescue Damir, but he wants to stay instead of returning with them so he sends them away.
