My Present is a Slave? (1x1 rp)

Leila sat on the edge of the bed, stroking Nicholas's hair, for a little while, then she returned to the job she'd been doing earlier.

(Time skip next day)

Nicholas was feeling a lot better than he did yesterday. He was still sick yes, but his nightmares were going away. He was sitting on his chair in the library, the fire lit across from him. He was reading a few books to past the time, dozing off here and there as he read.

Leila carried a tray with a bowl of soup upon it up to the library for Nicholas.

Nick was almost asleep, his eyes just about completely closed as his head went up and down from trying to stay awake to read.

Leila set down the tray and gently took the book from Nicholas's hands. "Don't exert yourself, love. If you're tired, then sleep. You'll get better quicker if you do."

"Mnn?" Nicholas looked over at Leila, still drowsy. "I-I'm not exerting myself... I'm just r-reading that's all..." Nicholas said with a yawn and a tired smile.

Leila raised an eyebrow, smirking. "You're still using energy when you read, love."

"So I can't read then? Okay..." Nicholas said, not wanting to fight with his love about it. He leaned forward a bit to take a sip of the soup that she brought in. "Are you happy being with me?" He then asked, out of the blue.

Leila was a bit confused by the sudden question. "Why do you ask that? Of course I am."

"It's just... with all the trouble I've caused because of my family, and you having to take care of me like this along with all the other things you still do around the house... It just popped in my head..." He said to her, not really sure why he even asked. Could be from sleep.

Leila's brow furrowed. "You're not thinking clearly, love. Put it out of your mind."

"Oh. Ok... I will... I'm sorry for thinking that..." He said to her, giving a yawn and starting to cuddle up more in the chair. "I love you Leila."

Leila smiled. "Don't apologize," she said, taking the afghan that was folded on the back of the chair and wrapping it around Nicholas. "I love you, too, Nicholas."

"Will you wake me up in about an hour please? I still would like to read." He asked her, almost ready to just crash as he snuggled in the blanket she wrapped around him.

Leila smiled and brushed NIcholas's hair away from his eyes. "Of course I will, love," she said. She gave his brow a light kiss and took the empty soup bowl and tray down to the kitchen.
