"Eh, sure you do..." Ashen eventually stopped pouting, instead opting to gaze over at the setting sun. "You know, if we weren't stuck in a tiny rowboat after one of the most humiliating days of my life, I would be enjoying the pretty scenery a lot more."

"Yeah, they are." Finally, Ashen was starting to smile again. She'd point out how romantic the view was, but of course she was genre-savvy enough to know she'd be teased mercilessly for ever mentioning such a thing.

Rune glanced back at Ashen, smiling at the look on her face, but didn't say anything. As awkward and humiliating as it was, the day wasn't all bad. It was the little moments like these that made it worth it.

"Looks like we'll be stuck here for one more night. Hopefully there are still some inns open around here." Rune commented as he helped Ashen out of the boat and onto the dock. Night had fallen by the time they got back, and they were back at square one. It would've been stupid to try and get to where they were going, across an entire ocean, in a tiny rowboat.

"Agreed. Let's look in the fancier parts of town. I don't feel like stomaching the smell of sailors at this point." Ashen didn't know if she could ever tolerate the stench of sailor ever again after that long day. But really, who could blame her?

"I wasn't aware this place had a 'fancier part of town'." Rune commented while starting to remove his coat. Between the cool night air and chilly sea breeze, it had become quite cold out. Despite this, the elf still seemed to automatically drape his coat over Ashen's shoulders like the dogged nice guy that he was.

"When I say 'fancier part of town' I mean 'smells the least like sweat and urine'." Once Rune took his coat off for her, she huddled herself closer to him, figuring that a closer proximity meant it would be slightly less cold for the elf. "Thank you."
