Darkened Hearts

Kaida felt it on the air his demon senses fought viciously takeing over ripping out his human senses and he snapped to reality his eyes sharper his smell keener his speed greater. He sniffed for Avi and detected her not that far off..... and he smelled demon. His anger boiled up and overflowed his eyes went from green to crimson as his swords left his sheeth as he ran to where Avi was when he stopped his demonic side was evident to the extreme. Kadai's eyes were blood red his teeth were sharpened top and bottom his nails ended in jagged points. Rocks were levetateing around Kaida and they began to shatter into needle fine points then held steady in the air. Fires lit upon Kaida's blades and when he spoke it was plain to see there was no sympathy to th demon man whom had Avi by the neck.

"Put her down now or i will dissassemble you. Hurt her and i will do the same. Kill her and you die on the spot."

The demon turned to look at his enemy dead in the eye. A smirk was smeared across his slips. He looked at Avillon in his hands and tossed her body like a rag doll to the ground.

"She stopped breathing already, do your worst...half breed." The demon said chuckling sensing his blood wasn't pure.

Avillons lifeless body started going cold. Dirt covered half her side as she laid there on her side, her hand covering a bit of her face.

Two words set him off dead and half breed. The demon just had no idea what he just gave himself up to. The rock shards in the air all glowed and angry red forming a thin long net with razor edges that was hot enough to burn through a demon and sharp enough to cut through a demon. This rock net went flying at the demon first followed up quickly by Kaida whom now ran at a speed faster then a chargeing war horse. Crossing both burning blades over eachother he aimed to cut the demon in half through the middle with a sciccor like attack.

The demon quickly put up a barrier to stop the rock net from harming him. He made sure the bonds of the barrier held however as for a direct physical attack by Kaida, it was hard to dodge with him charging at such speeds.

"urgh, you fool!" He cried out revealing his blade, and clashed his sword with the humans.

"HALF BREED THIS YOU b*****d!"

Kaida screamed as he locked the blade between his two catching the demons blade between the gards at the bottom and the baldes of his swords. The demon's sword was going no where. As this happened the muddy brown vial was levitated off of Kadi's belt and thrown into the demon with a ringing shatter.

"HOPE YOU LIKE AN ACID BATH!"

As soon as Kaida heard a sizzleing sound he broke the hold on the demons blade while planting a firm kick to the demons face useing it to back flip several feet away.

The stumbled back, crying in agony, his flesh slowly pealing off, etching burns into his body. In horror he jumped into the water, teleporting himself from the scene, in hopes to live before a final blow. He was gone, the pool side was quiet and Avillon remained where she was.

Kaida chuckled darkly.

"Aww he forgot the antidote...... i tested that acid rather thuroghly..... it eats the flesh untill all flesh and organs are gone..... only a matter of time."

Turning his blades extinguished and he ran to where Avi was fallen. He reverted back into his more human form his demonic senses going to rest. I hate when threatening demons are around i just lose control like that.... He knelt down by Avi and felt her neck. She had a pulse her heart was beating weakly but her breathing stopped. Kaida swalloed hard as he rolled Avi onto her back and laid his mouth onto hers breathing air into her then pressing on her chest to force the air out. Kaida kept doing this hoping that Avi was going to wake up. If she dosen't there are some more demons that are going to pay the price.

The demon returned to his group but fell to his knees, taken by death itself. The demons around were in a bit of a shock, however they didn't care as much about their fellow friend. One of them examined his wounds and backed away.

Meanwhile Avillon coughed up water, rolling onto her side, spitting it out, gasping for air as though she was dying all over, trying to stay alive. Finally she was back to her normal breathing patterns however still a bit shaken from the events. She shook a bit violently at first but it softened a little.

Kaida was thankfull Avi started breathing. Tension released out of him as he calmed down picking her up he took her back to where he lit the fire at and left his pack. He noted she was soaking head to toe from being drowned and laid her close to the fire he spoke gently not used to useing a gentle tone.

"That demon is not coming back around its dead."

He tosse more wood onto the fire and lit it again looking at it this time the flame was larger and hotter to provide Avi with warmth. Sitting down as if this was an everyday occurence her rummaged in his pack untill he found a brown vial to replace the one hee had to shatter.

"Need something?"  

[Crimson-Valkyrie]

"No...I didn't need your help....I had things under control..." Avillon replied looking away, still a bit shaken but not as bad as before. The fire was comforting but it was too hypnotizing.

The girl shook her head slightly, letting her hair strands covering her face. She had been in troubles before but had always found a way out...This time it wasn't the same as before. It was worse, but she didn't want to admit her humanly weakness.

"That you did... I guess i was mistaken....."

Roughly digging around he brought out a small pot and tea leaves. Normaly he would have just shoved her words back down her through but near death.... Kaida knew it he would not pressure her intentionaly. He set about brewing tea it was a mint with a delicate scent. Kaida took out a sweet substance he made a while back that seemed to go well with this drink and sprinkled it into the tea. Bringing out a battered but clean tin cup he filled it with the sweetened and freshly brewed mint tea. He placed it by her.

"It will warm you..... and take any pain out of the throught."

Kaida sat there in the strange silence. He wanted to try to be nice but hell he didn't know how to come off as nice. He knew how to come off as rude and sarcastic.

Cautiously Avillon took the tea and sipped it. To her surprise it was good, and rather soothing like he had mentioned. Why he was being nice she didn't understand at all. One minute he was frustrated with her and now a kind person...how long it would last she didn't know but she didn't want to find out either.

"...Your trying to poison me..arnt you?" She said taking another sip, knowing he wasn't but her nature took the best of her and it was hard not to say such things. After a few more sips she became drowsy, tired, but calm.

Kaida snorted at the poisoning comment so he decided to play along as he made himself a cup of tea in a battered tin cup brewed with the same leaves and put the same white substance into his drink. Raiseing it to her he spoke with a half cocked grin.

"To death then."

He brought the sweetened tea to his lips and took a deep drink. Then he threw more wood onto the fire while removeing the hot pot with a stick and let it cool knowing he had to clean it soon or the remaining liquid would stain it. Kaida took another drink and was still silent. He put the sweet substance away and glanced at Avi. Is she mad at me?

Avillon stared into her cup a little upset with the turn out. When Kaida mentioned death she raised her cup slightly but was eager to place it back down. She was in no hurry to finish the tea. It was really good, better then some things she's drank in the past.

Avillon closed her eyes and tightened her grip around her cup. She could feel the tea burning her hands. This wasnt suppose to happen...its his fault they came...back...She threw down her tea and got up, moving over to a near by tree, stumbling on her way. She took hold of the bark and rested.

"you're nothing but trouble..." She said to him.

Kaida snorted now and set his cup to the side his hand closed hard enough to pop his knuckles.

"So your just like my mother huh?"

Kaida spoke in a shrill mocking tone of a woman next.

"Your nothing but trouble you worthless brat go to the wilderness and rot you don't belong here."

Kaida now did not care if the pot was still hot he grabbed the pot and it sizzled as it met his skin. He stood up and went to the lake that Avi made earlier to wash the pot and the memories of his evil mother from his mind.
