They all have their pluses but I would choose lake first. Not so salty, and splash fights are actually fun. I've seen one with almost beach-white sand, and the sun was just rising at the time *O*. Oceans always have a great view, and are perfect for walking along. Pools are fun with a group of people... for me anyway =P

the lake seems more peaceful which is something that is much needed in a teens life

I'd go with lakes. They usually also involve camping, hiking and or fishing or canoeing or something so I like them the most. heart

I prefer to not actually be in the water most of the time, so..
If I'm with my guy then I pick the beach and if I'm with friends I pick the lake.
Then again.. the lake could be fun with my guy as well and I don't like sand too much. x_x;
