Hmm it would be sad if they were apart but at the same time it is bound to happen. It isn't like they have to completely disappear out of each other's lives though, I don't think that would ever happen.

He'd go out, well try to, with Haruhi. It's really, what would Karou do without Hikarou. Or he'd say something like 'I have a fun game!' to Tamaki and they would compete for Haruhi. Either of those. lol

But if they were born without each other that would be a different story. You can't miss what you never had, right? WTF I come to this thread randomly and you posted in it D8 talk about wired XD And i think hikaru w/o karou is just plain wrong XD

It would be sad indeed.
But no matter what, one day they will have to go their separate ways.
They are individual human beings after all.
( By the way this may contain spoilers )
They are both strait, Hikaru's loving Haruhi proves that.
Also Karou loves her too, just not as much as Hikaru;
And Karou wants his brother to be happy so he gives up on his love and pushes Hikaru forward. <3
Hikaru's dying his hair is one of the first steps to their, "Individuality".
We don't want to see them split, no, never.
And we may not have to, just think ahead of their lives.
