Just so you know, St. Patrick's Day is not so pleasant a holiday in Ireland. It's both a Catholic and Protestant holiday. One group wears green, the other wears orange. If you're caught wearing one color by the other group, you become an object of hatred and could even lose your life if enough people are so inclined.

St. Patrick's Day is a very ugly holiday.

Details matter to me... for instance, I can't celebrate Christmas in good conscience because of the lying to your children by telling them about Santa ("THOU SHALT NOT LIE"), the fact that for most people all that cheer and good will is artificial and will go away on the 26th, the blatant consumerism, the fact that Jesus wasn't born in December since it's freezing cold in Bethlehem around that time of the year, and most importantly, the fact that Christmas is basically the Winter Solstice with "Christian" elements added in.

No offense intended to people who can get past those things. sweatdrop
