"Sorry about the surprise." Aleera apologized briskly. "I needed to surprise you so you weren't tense. That just makes things harder and more painful." She tied of the wrapping on Akila's arm. "There. That should heal pretty well. Just try not to hit it or anything." She said and stood up. She gathered up her stuff, taking it into the other room before returning. She perched on the edge of the couch and asked with a faint smile. "So, still ready to help the rebellion?"

"I-it's alright." Akila was still catching her breath as she looked up, "More than you know." there was a sturdy determination in her eyes that showed the truth in that small statement. She stood slowly, stumbling a little, still in pain, "...I would like to rest now, if that is alright."

Aleera nodded. "That's fine. Shock and pain will do that." She hesitated then gestured towards one of the doors. "You can stay here if you don't want to do back just yet." She offered slowly.

"I-I think that would work..." Akila said slowly, hesitantly making her way to the door Aleera motioned to. Opening it carefully, she went in, laying on whatever soft furniture she got to first, and collapsed onto it, on her good side, curling up and closing her eyes, exhausted. She wanted nothing more than to be pulled into a sweet dreamland.

Aleera gave a half-smile, seeing the slave go into the room. Inside, it was even darker, with no candles lit. But it was dressed in the same decor, dark green curtains hiding the stone walls. The main portion of the room was taken up by a large four poster bed, more green hanging circling it. It was Aleera's own bed, but she had other stuff to do right now. She settled down at her writing desk and began a letter to tell Markus what she'd done.

((Sounds good.))

While morning came to the rest of the castle, it never came to Aleera's rooms. The dark, heavy drapes prevented any light from entering. The only way to tell time was from the muffled bustling that could be heard through the doors. But even that was quiet, as the servants and slaves knew she hated to be disturbed. Aleera herself was slumped over her desk, having fallen asleep in the middle of writing her report. Her raven hair splayed across her back, falling to her hips.

Akila shook as she woke to the pain in her arm, and blinked. What time was it? Slowly, she left the room, closing the door softly, as not to wake Aleera, and went to her own room, to clean up...kind of." She washed the dried blood from her nose and a few small cuts from the day before, that would heal in a matter of hours, and dressed in new slave garbs provided for her. A white flowy kind of frock. Using some cloth, she made herself a sling, and went to start her chores, cleaning the King's room while he still slept.

Aleera woke suddenly to a loud tapping sound. She jerked upright and looked around in confusion. Hearing the tap again, she relaxed, knowing what it was. Standing up, she padded over to one of the drapes, pushing it aside to reveal a window. She opened the shutters to allow the crow inside. "Hello Marius." She murmured, stroking the glossy feathers. Marius was the messenger bird Markus favored. Right now, he had a small scroll tied around his leg. Aleera took it then carried the bird over to her desk. "Hang on a sec, Marius. I'm almost done." Hurriedly, she finished her report and tied it to the bird, sending him off. Cracking open Markus' report, she grinned. Well well. Looked like today was going to be interesting. She sat back in her chair to wait for the king to waken. He would want to hear her latest "vision".

Markus sat in a tree, watching the cloud of dust in the distance. Scattered in the woods around him were other members of the resistance. Everyone, including himself, was armed. The dust cloud they were all watching was caused by a tribute train - A tribute of goods and supplies to the king from the outlying villages and towns. It was a shame it would never make it to the king.....

Akila worked silently, fearing the wrath she would receive, had she woken the King...but he woke on his own accord and took the medicine she had set out for him the night before, for the headache to come. He dressed in his formal clothes, and she led him down to the dining hall, where she set up his breakfast, scared to speak.

Aleera waited what she considered an appropriate amount of time, then rose. She padded from her rooms in search of the King. She found him right where she expected him to be - finishing up his breakfast. She ignored Akila as she she'd never spoken to the slave girl at all. Aleera perched on the edge of the table, deliberately letting her skirt ride up a little bit to show off her long leg. "I have news, Your Majesty." She murmured in her soft voice.

Once the tribute train was close enough, Markus flared his wings, shaking them and setting the feathers rattling softly. It was the signal to the men all around him. Without leaving their cover, they began peppering the train of wagons with arrows. While most were just standard bows, a few - including Markus - used the more deadly longbows, powerful enough to punch straight through most armor.

Akila didn't say a word, bowing to the king and knelt beside him, which was the only place she could go while on the leash.

Clorogne eyed Aleera hungrily, like he's newly finished breakfast had not been enough to satisfy him, and he licked his lips, undressing her with his eyes as he spoke, "What is this news you speak of?" his voice was strict and business-like.

Aleera smirked on the inside, though she was perfectly calm on the outside. She practically had the king eating out of her hand some days. "The tribute train that's due today. I had a dream of it." Absentmindedly, she twirled a strand of long dark hair around a finger as she spoke. "If my dream is true, and they usually are, then we shall never see it." She shook her head sadly. "The rebel leader sits comfy in his new silk and drinks the finest wines, fit only to grace your table."

Marcus let his men continue to fire on the train, watching as the pathetic guards scrambled to protect it. It was useless though, the guards shooting at shadows in the trees. The rebel certainly knew how to pick his ambush spots. Time it just right, Markus showed himself. He burst into the air in front of the wagons, dark wings spread wide. "Death rides upon black wings!" He crowed, raining arrows down with deadly accuracy. That was when the men of the train decided enough was enough. They abandoned the wagons, running for their lives. Villagers were a superstitious lot and Markus used it to his advantage. Once the guards were gone, his own men swarmed over the wagons, changing direction to take them to the hideout.

"No!" Clorogne roared, making Akila flinch, and he stood, pulling her to stand next to him, "This won't do." He started out into the hallway, "We will spread word at the hearing today." He stormed out of the room, dragging his Neko slave with him until he got to the conference hall and sat in the large throne at the end, making Akila stand beside him, "Open the doors to the public, Aleera!" He straightened up, waiting.

Aleera waited calmly as the king raged. She knew he would never hit her. She was too valuable. That was the reason why he never touched her, one way or another. Though, she had to wonder how long it would be before his lust over came him. Silently, she rose and followed the king through the castle to the conference hall. At his words, she crossed the room to the big doors and swung them open. "The King would have words with you all!" She called, pitching her voice to be heard over the rumbling of the crowd that was gathered.

Markus and his men sorted through the "loot", deciding what to keep and what to sell. The leader himself oversaw everything, a small glass of wine in his hand. "Good job boys and girls! We've done well today. This will feed many a family." A cheer went up through the group. Though young, Markus was well respected.

((I'm off to bed. Night!!))
