??? (Forlorn Hauntings) Self RP

At the end of twilight,
The shadows take flight.

'O we whom have lived through despair,
Become the shadowed prayer.
Coming from lands lost,
We shall once again cross,
The paths of fate that haunt all.
Do not stall.
Time is against us,
We who are no longer blessed,
Must find a way back to the place,
Where we once knew the meaning of grace.

At the end of twilight,
The shadows take flight.

Specter and Storm
Thoughts of Verloren, Amara and ???

Self RP

Golden orbs gazed up into the cloudy sky as the usually childish green and white stallion watched with an expressionless face. Even though summer was fast approaching the homelands, an eerie chill remained as the weather rages from sun to rain to hail. There was no explanation for the weather except, perhaps, that the gods of the sky were having some sort of dispute. Still, that did not put the former war stallion at ease. Something was terribly amiss. “The sky is… crying…” But, if it was what he thought it was, Verloren expected to see terrible things to come in his future. “At the worst time possible!” He literally barked out into the open. With Amara’s children now grown, he did not worry as much about them however… he had recently learned that Shiori was with foal and his none the less! She hadn’t given birth yet… they were still too young to defend themselves against any greater danger… What was he to do?

Red streaked hair stood out against the cloudy background as a chill ran down the mare’s back. “Something… is coming…” She did not fully understand what was going on. Perhaps the darkness that warred against them in the foreign lands was coming to chase them back here? But that couldn’t be because ‘he’ had sealed them away… Now that she thought about it, even though that one was on their side, he did give off a foreboding aura much like the enemies that they fought. It couldn’t be that… ‘he’ was coming? Could it? “Impossible. There’s no way he could travel all the way from that land to here… he wouldn’t just leave there… right?”

At the beach, ominous clouds rolled and withered in the sky. Brilliant light flashed and the heavens boomed as thunder and lighting came calling in a sudden spring storm. The waves rolled violently as they crashed into the land. Lighting flickered again and again. In-between the flashing flickers a strange figure appeared. It looked as if it were a ghost with no legs and a fragmented body but upon closer inspection it was just the white mane and fur on his body that obscured his true presence. White wings that were once solid stretched out and slowly dissolved into nothingness as the armored beast stood before the new lands with fierce red eyes. “… So… it is here…” With one step of his armored hooves, the creature walked away from the ocean storm like a specter and vanished into the darkness like an illusion.

The Coming of the Past
Verloren, Amara, Sienna, Sokinnin and Knight

Self RP

The trees were restless as an early summer thunder storm rolled in upon the soquili lands however there was no rain to quench the thirst of the drying grass and vegetation. Though the plants longingly pointed upwards towards the clouded sky, their efforts were in vain. Flickers of light played in the sky as a dissonance of rumbles followed forth. It was here, in a small clearing of drying grass surrounded by vast trees where Verloren and his family stood.

Verloren was not formerly aware of it but during his return and his time away, it seemed that his lineage became something else entirely as his family line grew vast. Upon his return from one of the lands beyond he had found a love to which he would remain by their side. From that love came two wonderful sons, one of which stood with him this day.

Sokinnin had grown up to be a very easy going young colt who more or less listened to the words of his parents. But upon listening to his father’s tales and occasionally speaking with his step-sister, he had also grown to admire the life that they once lived in. It was hard and he knew he couldn’t fully live up to such a legacy… but he wanted to at least be a stallion worthy of his father’s name. And so, in the time from his young colt days to becoming a better stallion, the young Sokinnin trained to be a loyal fighter, strong enough to withstand a fury of attacks, but gentle enough to know that there are feelings behind every creature, good or bad.

To the right of the larger green stallion stood a much smaller black and red mare who seemed rather calm and quiet but beneath all that was a firm and disciplined mare who had also shared in the experience of battle. Amara, Verloren’s daughter to a former love, had joined her father in the fight beyond the soquili lands. She returned a changed mare, no longer meek and naïve to the world. Though still passive, she held a firm standing on the borderline to when she could and couldn’t fight. In due time, she had come across an older stallion who had fallen upon hard times due to a wrecked relationship. Over the course of many meetings, the two came to realize that with their faults, they could find solace in each other. They’re new love brought forth three wonderful children whom they loved deeply.

Of the three children to the raccoon colored noble stallion and the former war horse mare one of the daughters stood with the family. She was possibly the oddest one out of the bunch for though she possessed the power of speech, she chose not to use it. Even when she emerged from her basket, Sienna was not very talkative but she wasn’t mute either. Some time during her young days, the little filly suddenly went mute mush to her parent’s dismay, never speaking a word since. She’s never revealed why she hasn’t spoken much yet… but clearly something must have happened to completely silence her. Though silent with words and a bit awkward at times, Sienna was still capable with defending herself as her mother had taught her the basics of combat. What she lacked in strength, much like her mother, she used her wits to get around her opponent.

But today, there was no such opponent waiting for them in the clearing. The pale form of a brown and white she wolf came dashing out of the grove towards the small group of horses, panting. Horo, the she wolf familiar who had become acquainted with Amara, began to blabber about to the two elder soquili about her findings. Before she could finish her report the shadow of a looming presence in the sky stopped all of them in their tracks. Their eyes gazed upwards towards the darkened clouds.

A dark form moved across the skyline as it slowly began to descend from the heavens. It looked as if it were riding the winds with just its hooves alone, which was impossible… until its further descent revealed a pair of vast ghostly wings that carried the great form across the winds. What little light emitted from the storm raging up above glinted over the metal armor that adorned the stallion’s body adding to show of light and rage. Its white mane and tail lashed in the storm like an entity in itself. The wait was long and the younger horses tensed up. However, Verloren and Amara remained stoic and unmoving as the armored form landed before them, mane and tail in disarray, an old scarf tipped with old blood askew across on ghostly wing.

“It’s been a long time… Knight…”

“So it has…”

So it has…
