bah.. been a waky week... swy didn't get a weekly for august up.. all my contest outlines were on my old comp.... and dead.... and work ans other things to worry over... I will try for this week and up the prizes to make up for last week... may have by monday- friday... save the weekends for votings and such

UPDATE!

Got the new comp yesterday.. getting it up to speed. Once word and photoshop are installed I can begin the process of Contests again.


In my slowness at work today however I do have a standing of events through to the end of next year, extra things aside.

So, for those interested... a hint for september... Did you know that September 19th was the international talk like a pirate day? Neither did I but it is ^.^

and this month will be a bit more then usual given that it's in a short time frame. I hope to have this contest done and the next rounds going by end of sunday since i have to work at the inn tomorrow.. joy... but that's my update for the moment... hopefully the drive will keep kicking so all can be accomplished tonight... (though still getting used tot he keyboard so we'll see.. big buttons.. lil hands...)

Did you know that September 19th was the international talk like a pirate day?


We have a big thing at my university for it every year.
We have student-run pirate events every day the week of September 19th to go along with it.
And they hold a contest for the best dressed pirate on the nineteenth, but you're disqualified if you're caught talking in a non-pirate-like fashion.
It's pretty interesting.
They give out free candy. >>;

only hangup is stupid adobe photoshop and illustrator.. it won't download the trial version.... i need it for my pictures for contests.... crying

i got the loader assistant thing.. but after i sign in and start the process.. it hangs up and does nothing.. the dite's very helpful information said to refresh the dl page and try again... after about say 20 times figure that's not gonna work...so gotta wait to see if my dad can figure it out not wanting to risk f'ing the new comp in the second day

For a temporary fix, you could try a couple of free programs I like to use.
GIMP and InkScape.
GIMP is like Photoshop, where images made in it are bit mapped.
InkScape is like Illustrator, where things made using it are tracked by vectors and have the same quality regardless of how they're sized.
Since I can't afford a license for Adobe or Corel programs, they're very nice, and have many similar features.
They're worth a look, at least, since they're free and all. c:

true... may make a second guild too... one specifically for my contests.. and open for the public... that way people from other guilds i like can join too in a neutral ground... and be more organized too

still debating it though

good news! Photoshop and illustrator are now on the comp! so that means back in business... starting tomorrow... kinda late and semi worn from work...

but tomarrow i'll wrap this contest up and get the three for this month going...


also... just getting opinions.... thinking about making a guild dedicated to these contests so not just this guild can play but others.... and posting a link to there? any thoughts?
