*as a side note her name that I choose, Antiga, means old in Catalan*
Antiga slowly walked up to the entrance of the village said to contain the hunters of her ancesters, The Kawani Village. She also wore a cloak as to try and divert attention away from her appearence. As she took a step through, the gulped hard, not sure what she should expect. Not sure if there may be some kind of gaurd or ambush waiting for her as she continued in.
Now, with her entire body inside the village, Antiga took a better look around. Nothing seemed to be jumping out at her or calling any sort of attention to her. "So far so good," She said as she let out a small sigh of relief. As she walked into the village a little further, she took in all the different smells around her. As Antiga bent over to smell what seemed to be some kind of offering laid out, a couple of foals burts out from around the corner of a building, startling her. In turn, causing her to take a few steps back and trip a little on her cloak. As she continued to slowly back away from the foals, who had stopped running when they heard her gasp, Antiga's cloak slowly fell off of her and onto the ground. "Oh, no!" She gasped, trying to pull it back up and over her. Suddenly, she heard the two foals laughing, she stopped trying to pull at her cloak to stare over at them. "What is wrong with you?" They stopped laughing for a second, starting back at her with smiles plastered on their face. "Aren't you going to alert someone I'm here or something?" She looked them over, showing her confusion as to why they didn't scream or yell... or even just attack her themselves on her face. One of the foals, bearing four beautiful black wings stepped closer to her, tilting his head to the side. "Why would we do something like that? Are you royalty or something?" She bent her head down to look into his clear light blue eyes. "No... I just thought.... nevermind..." She sighed a bit, clearly this foal didn't understand, which was good for her. His friend stepped foreward, stopping next to the black winged foal, snickering a bit, "You're funny." He looked at her with fiery red eyes and baring sharp teeth. Feeling slightly threatened Antiga stepped back a bit, ruffling her wings. The foals had already turned around, trotting off in the direction of what she believed to be the main square of the village.
Antiga feared the village a little less now, knowing that she had already escaped what could have been a vicious attack. "Maybe they've forgotten what we look like?" Now walking with a bit more confidence, she abandoned her cloak.
As she walked a bit closer to the middle of the village, she saw more two-leggers, or humans as they are called, and even more different kinds of Soquili. She attempted to keep her eye on everything that was moving, but before she knew it, there was a two-legger standing right in front of her, holding out it's hand. She cocked her head a bit, gazing suspiciously at the two-legger before looking to see what it held out in it's hand. "An apple!" As she realized what it was, she sniffed it, trying to make sure that there was nothing bad going on with it. When she was satisfied, she took the apple, eating it in one bite. The two-legger giggled at her and then, the most unexpected thing happened, it PATTED Antiga! She was so stunned that she just stood there, unsure as to what to do next as the two-legger waved at her and skipped away. She lightly fluffed out her wings, deciding to herself that maybe, just maybe, this place isn't as bad as she thought. Before she made any kind of final thoughts on it though, she decided it would be best to continue looking around.
As she took a quick peek into an open window, someone reached out and lightly touched her nose. She pulled away and continued around the side of the house, thinking that she might see the two-legger that did it. As she rounded the house, she saw a beautiful cream and black colored stallion bearing a horn. He smiled at her, walking toward her down the alley. As he walked past her, he nodded at her a bit, continuing on his way down the street, walking away and dissapearing into another alley.
Antiga walked a bit further. As she walked past what slightly resembled some type of holding pen for animals, she happened to see a bucket of water. Upon seeing it, she decided that she was actually rather thirsty. Walking over to it, she sniffed the entire bucket until she was sure that it wasn't some kind of trap of distraction, then sniffed the water to make sure that there wasn't anything weird going on with it. Happy with how it smelled she happily started to gulp down the water. Before long, she felt her side being lightly poked. She cautiously looked up from the bucket, seeing a slightly smaller than average mare smiling sweetly at her. "I don't think I've seen you around here before," She said, still smiling "Oh no..." Antiga thought as she backed away from the mare a bit. "it was all a trap... they're going to get me now..." The mare just continued to smile, not noticing how frightened she seemed to make Antiga. "I just wanted to greet you and see if you needed any help getting around." Antiga's jaw nearly dropped to the ground, amazing at how... nice... this mare seemed to be. She slowly shook her head no, the stunned expression on her face not seeming to fade. The mare giggled a bit as she saw it, "Well, if you do need anything, don't be afraid to ask anyone around." With that, she winked a beautfully green eye, turning around to walk away, her white coat shimmering gold in the sun. Antiga wasn't sure what kind of Soquili that mare could possibly be, but there was no denying her beauty.
Antiga decided, after a good stretch, that she should continue on again, seeing anything else that there might be to see. Slowly continuing down the street, taking in all the Soquili and two-leggers surrounding her, an interresting smell caught a hold of her nose. She looked around a bit, finding the source to be a bush with some strange looking black berries on it. Although she had never seen these kinds of berries before, the wonderful smell made her stomach rumble. She decided that they couldn't be that bad if they smelled so good, sticking her nose right into the bush and licking at the berries happily. These berried weren't part of her usual diet, but they certainly were delicious. As she continued to eat, she came nose to nose with what looked like a canine. She backed out of the bush, startled by the strange looking stallion, who then lifted up his head. As she looked him over a bit closer, she realized that what she thought looked like a canine nose, was actually just smudging from the berries they were both just dinning on. Despite her earlier fright, she let out a small giggle. The stallion looked confused until he noticed his nose. Licking it off, he laughed lightly, appoligizeing for his appearence, having been covered from head to hoof in berry stains. He then bowed smally, as wings of what seemed to be made of light, shimmer on his back. Taking his leave, he told her that those berries were delicious and that she should definitly eat some more.
Antiga watched in awe as the stallion walked away, seeing the wings of light one last time as he rounded a corner. Mostly in awe of his bad eating habbits. Antiga quietly wondered to herself how many different Soquili breeds there could possible be in exsistence now. She had never even heard of anything as different as they are in all her years. Looking down the strees she soon realized that she wasn't too far away from the main square now. She could see many different Soquili and familiers walking around with, what seemed like hundreds, of two-leggers. She stood still for a minute, not only because the scene before her stunned her, but because she was unsure as to how she should react to the humans and things around her. Deciding that she was just being silly and paranoid, since all the things she had seen so far today were far from terrible, she strood confindently foreward, right toward the center. Antiga held her head high believing that she should simply be who she in for this new village, seeing what will happen. Maybe she'll learn new things about herself she never understood before.
As she stood near the edge of the crowd, all in the main square, she was simply in awe of all the things going on around her. She saw the little foals from earlier first, one chasing the other around the square and tripping on some poor filly's long snow white hair. Moving a bit more into the crowd, she saw the gorgeous cream and black stallion with the horn. As she took a closer look at him, she noticed he had a long tail with just a tuft of fur at the end of it. Looking back up at his muzzle she saw some pixie-like Soquili perched there, talking to him. As she continued to stare at the pixie, she felt something tickling her tummy. Looking down, she saw a small fox familiar stepping out from beneth her, smiling up awkwardly and appoligizing for not paying attention to where she was going. As Antiga kept her eye on the fox, she saw it prance right up to the berry covered stallion from earlier, his wings made of light sparkling out in the open. He was all cleaned up now and looked stunning with a rainbow flecked white coat. She noticed a two-legger beside him, brushind his fur as the little fox snugggled up to his legs. As she turned her head to look around once again, she came muzzle to muzzle with the same stunning green eyes from earlier. She looked a bit closer, stepping back and realized it was the mare with the beautiful gold flecked coat from earlier. The mare smiled as she lightly nosed Antiga's muzzle. Antiga blushed lightly, not expecting the gesture. "I see you found the main square with no problem," The mare said, smiling brighter than the sun itself. Antiga nodded a bit, becoming shy around her seemingly new found friend. The mare winked, lightly bumping her rump into Antiga's. Antiga smiled and took the mares hint, starting to walk further into the square with her, prepared to meet whoever else she could form a nice little friendship with. And, maybe, learn a little more about these new breeds of Soquili and the two-leggers who are nothing like those of her ancesters. Perhaps she could even find a two-legger of her own to brush her feathers. "yeah... that would be nice..." The mare smiled at Antiga again as they walked toward the rainbow flecked stallion, who was smiling broadly at them both.
*okay, it turned out long, but I hope that's okay. I was enjoying creating the story and everything <3*

Prompt Response Name used: Itzamna (Pronounced ‘Et-sam-na’; refers to a Mayan deity) Temperament used: Adventurous It had been a long journey to reach this place. Itzamna had heard the whispers about an oddly peaceful village, a place where humans and Soquili lived together in apparent peace, this place that her own people had visited with no harm befalling them. It was strange and just a little bit unsettling, that all of their stories and legends could be even a little bit untrue, or at least changed by the passage of time, and she could take nothing here for granted. It was all going to be different, unfamiliar, and even counter the stories that she had heard growing up. The hippogryph had jumped at the chance to explore this place – it was exactly the kind of thing she had always dreamed of! New, exciting places, discoveries just waiting to be found out by the pretty, brown hippogryph mare would be just the right mixture of skilled and lucky to find all of the greatest things before anyone else! She was practically trembling with excitement (not fear, she was much too brave to be afraid!) as she neared the village. She was finally here! Exploring a new land, and she would be one of the first to get to experience the wonders that it had to offer. Halting for a moment to catch her breath and try to get her breathing under control, the mare could look out over the nearby village and see just how different this place was from the old tales, and how accurate the rumors truly were. She was clearly visible to the gathered Soquili and humans in the village – in fact she was quite sure that an Angeni had nodded his head at her! – But not a one made a move to attack her. There was no excited cry, no rush to gather things to attack her with. No, there were a few curious glances as she drew closer and closer to the small settlement, but no hostilities at all. The hippogryph wasn’t certain if this neutral, even polite treatment was the best part about this unusual place, or all of the strange wonders that she was beginning to spot as she drew into the village itself. There were so many things to look at, to listen to, to investigate! Itzamna took a deep breath, inhaling the scent of the village, just managing to catch the scent of leather, Soquili, humans, and a strange odor she would later know as wood smoke before she choked and started coughing. She had been standing downwind of one of the campfires, and the smoke from it had gotten caught in her lungs when she inhaled. Turning away from the source, her eyes, nose, and throat stinging from the unpleasant sensation, she huffed and stamped her back hooves, shaking her wings out and refolding them. What an uncomfortable thing to have so close to where you sleep! How could anyone ever get a peaceful night’s rest with such an acrid fog floating around? Granted, it seemed fairly controlled, but she wasn’t even catching the worst of it. As a hippogryph, she knew she had less of a sense of smell than the Ulun’Suti did, and from the look of some of these strange Soq they might have an even stronger sense. So how did they all stand it? For that matter, how was everyone getting along so well? It couldn’t just be a phenomenon located to this very tiny area, or there wouldn’t be so very many different kinds of Soquili here, all so relaxed. That was the hypothesis she was going to test, at least! She would start small, with this village, and then Itzamna would travel farther away from home, perhaps across the entire world! A touch to her right front leg drew her out of her excited, unrealistic daydream, and she looked down to see a small two-legger investigating her front legs with their deadly claws. Slightly frightened, more for the youngster than for herself, Itzamna held absolutely still, afraid to move a muscle, lest she unthinkingly harm the strange creature with her talons. The attention of the two-legger didn’t last long, fortunately – thank goodness for the short attention span of all young creatures! – And Itzamna was soon free to resume her investigation on her own terms. As she walked through the village, trying not to breathe too deeply left she get another lungful of that horrible acrid scent, she couldn’t help but think how gentle the small creature was. How peaceful all of the inhabitants of this village seemed to be. Granted, things weren’t always as they seemed on the surface, but she could almost feel the genuine goodwill this place held. If she wasn’t set on seeing everything the wide world had to offer, she could almost settle down here. She paused by a spot where a regular Soquili and an Usdia were lying down as some female two-leggers braided and wove things into their manes and tails. Tilting her head curiously, Itzamna took a few steps that direction to get a closer look. She could not really participate in something like this, even if she wanted to – but it was just so interesting to watch the two-leggers take folds of hair and twine them together. “How are they doing that?” The hippogryph asked herself, then jumped and flapped her wings, startled by a loud, strange sound nearby. In the process, she hit one of the humans in the back of her head, causing her to turn around and stare. At once, all of the old stories came to the forefront of her mind again, temporarily blowing away the excitement she had been feeling up until now. She had just hit a human, however unintentionally, and if she took offense, then things could take a very ugly turn. For just a moment, Itzamna’s heart sank into her stomach, and she considered fleeing, but then the two-legger picked up a flower that had been resting beside her, and held it out to the wary hippogryph. “Oh! Is that for me?” She asked, though she knew that her question wouldn’t be understood. After waiting a moment to be sure that the small flower really was for her, she carefully took hold of it, the sharp edge of her beak lightly scraping against the outstretched hand, then trotted off with her prize. She had to explore more of this place! And the next time she molted, she would bring one of her feathers back here, and give it as a gift. Provided she could find the correct human, of course, but that couldn’t be too hard, right? There couldn’t possibly be very many of them! For now, though, she had so many more things to explore, like what they ate here and where they kept their food, how they managed to live so peacefully, and of course, the number one thing to investigate: what had happened, if anything, to take away the threat the legends spoke of so fervently. Itzamna had so very much to do, and all the time in the world to do it. She wouldn’t be leaving this place until her curiosity and adventurous spirit were satisfied. And with all of the things that kept popping up to catch her attention, the hippogryph mare doubted that boredom would lead her off on a new adventure for a great while. Hopefully the humans and Soquili who lived here wouldn’t grow sick of her presence! Now, first things first! To find another Soquili and ask them about – ooh, what was that shiny thing over there? Goals abandoned for the moment, Itzamna bounded over to identify what had just captured her attention. She was never going back home!

Chalin galloped before gliding yet again she had done this most of her way. The village seemed no where. Of course it was rumors they could be wrong. But as the village finally came into sight she sighed. It was about time, settling down fully to a stop at the edge she stared into the village.
It was busy at first all she seen was soquili, finally she took a step nothing gained from just sitting around. Of course that was a bad idea after it started. As she headed farther into what she assumed was the center not only was it full of soquili but 2 legged, rumors refereed to them as humans. She snorted and shook her head these soquili accepted the humans as if they were in fact the same. Soquilis were rubbed with strange tools, tails and manes were braided treats were given....... she had to remember to swallow as the drool pooled in her mouth.
Finally she started moving again pausing to watch this and that before one of the humans approached her. "would you like to be brushed?" She held out one of those items Chalin had seen used on the others, now she was curious what was so great about it.
Nodding she waited for the human to work, the moment the brush touched her skin she felt like melting. The sensation the power the love, it was all there. If she had been a cat she have purred. But before she knew it she was done. She turned back to the human a sad look on her face. That sent the person giggling as if she knew what was on Chalin's mind.
Holding out a apple she smiled "sorry its all over."
With pain Chalin finally headed on already she had so much to tell hers, they were wrong legends talked about them like they were monsters. Wiping bits of apple off her beak she turned and started heading out the way she had come. "Maybe just a bit longer." She turned back to the girl that had brushed her, "cause that felt good." She had been speaking to her self but quickly blushed as soquili all over snickered.
There was so much more to try she couldn't leave yet. With that she turned and headed back in.

You're a hippogryph come from the Valley's of the Alliance Territories in the Clearspring valley located just east of the Sacred pools at the north eastern part of the desert. Its a beautiful area with a large lake and plenty of things to eat on the mountains, but with the high winds and thick fogs removed with the sudden loss of your allies powers, you, as an explorer at heart, decide to venture out and face the new world, and follow where the rumors stated was a new culture you could go right to the heart of and learn about -- The Kawani Village! Please Rp your entry into the village, the sights and sounds you see in the village where good humans and soquili lived, unlike the ones you had heard about in ancient legend that hunted your people down, and your reactions
Another gust blew through her, Itzel winced and turned her face away. The strong winds made flying difficult, she wobbled and dipped as she tried to stay balanced. Just as she was beginning to recover from the last blast of wind, a rouge gust hit her from the left and blew her over. Itzel began spin and lose altitude, in the panic she attempted to stabilize herself but she continued to fall. She beat her wings fiercely but it only slowed her descent, certain she was going to crash Itzel curled into a ball and tried to shield her head with her wings.
The last few seconds felt endless as she waited for impact, she flinched when she brushed the top of an evergreen, falling like a canon ball through the branches. Itzel hit the earth with such force her body bounced from the impact. She tried to process what had happened and where she was, but her ears were ringing and her vision was getting blurry and dark.
"No! Get up!" she said to herself, but no words escaped her mouth. She commanded her legs to move, but they did not. She tried to thrash and kick to keep her body awake but it seemed like it was in a deep sleep. Itzel managed to throw her head back and she got one last look at the sky before her vision went dark and her mind went blank.
When Itzel came to she felt blinded, she snapped her eyes shut and winced in pain. She could feel it now, not all the snapping she heard was from the breaking branches. Her knees were cut and still bleeding a little, her back bruised and scraped, and she was almost certain her right wing was broken in more than one place. Itzel was able to get herself on her feet, she took deep breaths as she tried to pull in her busted wing. She did her best to hold it close to her body, she heard a pop and let out a scream. The pain was pulsing through her like waves, she bit her lip to hold back another scream. "In through your nose, out through your mouth." she repeated in her head and she tried to steady her breathing. The air made a hissing sound as it escaped through her teeth.
After she had calmed herself, she could focus on her situation. Itzel tried to picture in her mind where she had landed, she tried to remember what landmarks she saw last and which direction to go in. She was heading east before she tumbled to the earth, she remembered seeing smoke from a fire that way. She looked up for the sun, it was close to setting, she needed to find help soon. She could not treat her injuries herself, and her wounds would surely draw in predators.
Itzel turned her back to the sun and headed east. She felt so awkward and vulnerable on the ground, and what if she did find people, would they help her? Would they hurt her? What if they were awful cannibals who ate their enemies, like from the legends. She shivered at the thought, but those thoughts were irrational, or were they? She argued with herself in her head, and as the sun set and the sky grew dark her nightmares felt very real. She wandered in the darkness listening to its quiet nothingness. She did not stop to rest she did not stop to eat after a time the exhaustion and quiet began playing tricks in her head. She herd faint drums beating to the a rhythm insync with her tired beating heart. But the beating grew louder and louder and faster and faster, her own heart struggled to keep in time. Then suddenly the drums stopped, Itzel halted, unable to move. She felt lost, like the drums had been guiding her. But just as she felt defeat "Boom, boom boom." the slow beating rhythm started again, even louder than before.
Itzel was determined to find the source of the hypnotic sound, she followed it again, lost in the low deep sounds. As she got closer and the sound got louder, she heard singing, and chanting, harmonizing with the glorious sound. She could no longer control herself, she was running towards the booming humming song. Listening to it she did not feel pain, only felt the thumping of he earth below her, only felt the excitement in her heart. A warm glow appeared before her, the sound and the light growing stronger and stronger as she raced towards it. Ignoring her injuries she made the last hurdle over a fallen tree, but stumbled and rolled into brush and fell down a steep incline. She landed in a clearing, the tumble had reminded her of her wounds and she cringed as she tried to adjust her broken wing. The music had stopped, but she found herself in front of the light, a huge bonfire in fact, and she found herself being watched. Itzel looked around to find dozens of eyes watching her. She froze, were these the cannibals to the east? Itzel stood up cautiously and watched for any movement. She thought they might jump her, but instead the curious faces looked calm and happy, like they had been expecting her. A man approached her, his body was painted with the colors of the sky and was heavily adorned in feathers. He offered her a necklace, she cautiously lowered her head and he draped it on her neck.
"thank you for coming sacred one." the man said to her.
Itzel nodded awkwardly to acknowledge him, and the crowd of people around them cheered and began to sing and beat there drums once again. "Sacred one? i think you have me mistaken, i just fell and got lost you see-" she started to explain.
"You responded to our call did you not?"
"Well i did but.." she began to argue but the sounds of the drums and the chanting filled her with such calm and joy she lost her train of thought. The warmth of the fire soothed her aching body and she was able to relax. Women came to her to clean and dress her wounds and heal her injuries, Itzel complied with their will to help her. After some time of accepting offerings and food, children came and stroked her face and ears in most gentle and kind way. Itzel let herself drift asleep under the warm care of the people of the Kawani Village.
