And suddenly their visitor from before was back before Mitsu could even make a decision to flee. In a panic she did the only thing to her that made sense. Protect. Protect the person she cared about the most. It was that need to watch over Shun that gave her the will to summon her fear before she realized she was doing it. The shadow below her flicked to life rising up and forming into a large black wolf. White void like eyes opened in its face and its mouth cracked open in an odd form of a wolfish smile.

The wolf leaped forth into action but instead of heading toward Amrita it propelled itself toward Shun the shadows breaking apart once they were close to wrap around him. He would feel the sudden sensation of a warm embrace before the wolf dissipated out of sight.

The warning came too late, and Xiu was sent flying back when the claws suddenly connected with her. She hit the ground hard, her body aching at the impact. However, as much as she would have liked to just lay there, there was no time for that now. With a grimace, the ghoul pushed herself back up to her feet, her arm wrapped tightly around her middle.

"Back for revenge so soon," She croaked, shooting a quick look towards the others. Shun seemed to be in better condition--no doubt thanks to Mitsu's healing--and she and Tybalt were still okay, but Mitsu...

Okay, no hesitation this time. For the sake of everyone here, they had to take Amrita down, and fast.

They weren't getting much of a break. Amrita was back.

"Kusoo..." he hissed as he turned sharply, wincing a bit as he moved too quickly. So not only did they simply dissipate now, but they were able to come back with a vengeance. That wasn't a good sign. As the insanity beast focused on Tybalt and Xiu, he soon felt a sense of relief as a wolf of shadows covered him. The wound in his chest left behind by Yin sealed up.

Quickly, he turned back towards the lycan. She was still hurt badly. Quite frankly, he wished she had used her fear on herself. Although he generally had the plan of getting rid of the threat as quickly as possible, he didn't want to risk leaving her alone just to fight. Gritting his teeth, he called out his daggers and crouched down before her, putting himself between her and what was once Amrita.

If the other two struggled with taking her down, he'd assist, but right now he needed to make sure that Mitsu was alright.

I caught them off guard but it didn't seem to notice; it didn't care that they scrambled to heal and defend. All that mattered was that they were in its way. Claws sliced through the air again, along with a familiar hiss.

"--! Tybalt, Mitsu!"

Xiu flinched as Amrita's claws swung out the strike the two canines, her heart stopping for a second. How bad was the damage?! Tybalt had already taken a rather heavy hit not a minute earlier, and Mitsu...

Thank Jack for Shun. The baku's shoulders sagged in relief when she realized that the reaper had managed to protect the ghoul from a good part of the damage. Upon seeing that Tybalt was taking care of healing Mitsu, Xiu took a deep breath and straightened up again, jumping on the spot to shake out her aching limbs. "I'll try to keep her back!"

And so, just like before, the baku rushed forward and swung her fist out at the insanity-infested student, trying to keep her back while Mitsu was being healed.

It was a good thing Shun decided to switch to the defensive there. He managed to block off some of Amrita's attack, but not all of it. Quickly, he glanced back at Mitsu to see if she was alright, though the sudden bolt of lightning from Tybalt seemed to help her.

"Thank you.." he said quietly towards the darker canine, grateful for the aid. But, he wasn't looking so good himself now. With his lycan healed, he narrowed his eye at the insanity beast. This wasn't really Amrita any longer. Rushing back to help try and drive her off with Xiu, he slashed out several times with his blades, finishing with a stab towards her chest.

"Stay the ******** away," he hissed lowly.

[Inu-Mitsu]

It had only been seconds after she had sent out her fear that the attack came. Tybalt had tried to stand in the path of Amrita's blow but it was too strong. Mitsu had barely been able to stand as she was forced back by the light hit, landing on the ground hard. Her fear shield was fading and the pain was seeping in. She could hear the muffled tones of her allies but nothing was making sense to her. There was nothing but dizziness and confusion.

It was hard to say what happened next, she was certain she heard Tybalt speak and suddenly the world grew a little clearer and the pain dulled down from agony to a dull thud. Even the wound in her arm began to close. It was a tingling sensation that coursed through her chasing away the fatigue enough to allow her to stand. She was...alright? But a look around told her that they were all running on low and now Tybalt was in danger.

She was thankful to him, he had pulled her back from a dangerous situation but now..now she needed to help him. She needed to help her other friends. Turning toward Amrita Mitsu charged toward her leaping at the last second. As she did her form changed and she used the weight of that form to slam into the creature and try to take her down. With any luck she could lay on her to keep her in place.

Xiu's punch did knock her back, but not far enough. As the creature scrambled to right itself a set of very long, still quite backward claws impaled the large black dog nearby. Without noticing what she had done she ripped her claws free and turned towards the rest, growling out a deep No towards Shun's threat.

You will not stop me!

The barrage continued and Mitsu's attack did indeed knock her back and pin her...but as it often went, it wasn't enough to stop her. With a low, raging rumble the creature fought herself free from the large canine on top of her, ripping and tearing through any flesh she could sink her claws into.

Xiu breath caught in the throat, freezing in horror as she watched Amrita's attack connect...and connect hard she might add. Knowing that he was probably worse off--and trusting that Shun would definitely see to Mitsu the second he could--the baku rushed over to the ghost boil in a panic. She knelt down behind him, hands hovering over him uncertainly.

Jack. Jack, what did she do? He bleeding, and was in terrible shape and...

Okay, relax. While she was not an expert, Xiu had taken basic first aid training. Pulling off her gloves, she carefully leaned forward and tried to apply pressure to one of his wounds, trying to temporarily stop the bleeding. "Stay awake, okay Tybalt? Hang in there!"

"Mitsu!"

The insanity undead creature continued to attack the two canines. And it looked like she had hit hard. This wasn't good. If they dissipated here, where would they reform? The nurse's office? Or somewhere else? Shun wasn't sure. He didn't want to risk getting separated from his fiance though. Xiu had gone to tend to Tybalt, so he went on to continue with his attack. Gripping onto his daggers, he cut into Amrita in a sort of cris cross manner, hoping to banish her back into the fog or something along those lines.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Claws bit and tore through flesh, shredding her underbelly with ease staining white fur crimson. Mitsu let out a yelp but tried to keep Amrita back but it was still too late. Tybalt was hurt badly and she wasn't much better at the moment. She felt terrible that his effort had been wasted but she had tried to keep...that thing at bay. Was it a wasted effort?

Luckily Shun finished it off and Mitsu collapsed to the ground with a whimper. She didn't want to move now. The pain she felt was too much too familiar. It brought memories of the lab back into her head. Bright sharp objects that cut into her, the sound of drills, and those featureless faces. She wanted to go home. Home where it was safe. She didn't want to go back to the lab and those men.

Dismissing his daggers again, Shun looked towards Tybalt. He wasn't looking like he was in real good shape.

"Xiu, how's he keeping up?" he asked before rushing back over to Mitsu's side. She had collapsed. Scooping her up into his arms, he held her close while also trying to get a look at her wounds.

"Mitsu, Mitsu, I'm here... I'm sorry.. I shouldn't have let you follow me here. We'll go home, ok? I'll bring you home," he whispered to her, trying to reassure her. She was scared out of her mind, and she had been hurt too. Their efforts had helped keep everyone alive thus far but it was obvious they were in over their heads here. It was very concerning. While Shun wanted to eliminate the threat, he needed Mitsu safe first and foremost.

"We need to retreat once we have the chance," he stated a little more loudly so the others could hear him too. It was the most he could see them doing here right now. Mitsu and Tybalt were badly hurt. And Xiu and himself were not at their best either. The fog would likely persist. They could regroup and figure out some other strategy before diving back in. Or something. If they dove back in at all....
