The Demon King's Contest 1: Finished!

Klara cracked her knuckles, neck, and back before performing a short series of stretches. Youkai and Hollows the stadium around were booing her. Let them! she scoffed as she walked into the hazy, reddish light of Makai's sun. The Shinigami turned up their noses the same way they always did when looking upon Bount, and made no sound. Klara was prepared for that. Whether they liked it or not, here she was. She would fight for their world as well as her own. She took quick stock of the competetion, and felt a little out of her league. Daisuke had done alright. The female Hollow had Klara worried, after seeing the last match.
She fingered the bracelet on her left arm nervously and awaited her challenger.

Haruka had been performing her own pre-battle warm up, stretching her legs and bouncing on the balls of her feet to loosen her muscles, before she entered the arena. She took the time to approach her opponent with a smile.
"I'm Miyazaki Haruka. I'm looking forward to our match. Good luck and may the best woman win," she said, sticking her hand out to shake.
She then returned to her position in the arena, readying her weapons as she waited.

Klara smiled warmly and took the Youkai woman's hand. She had not expected such politeness from a denizen of the demon world.
"Very well! Don't hold it against me if I win. But if you win... then I am trusting you to take care of things." She flashed one more smile and waited for the flag to drop, so to speak.
"Fight!"

Haruka cautiously approached her opponent, sai raised defensively. When she got within striking distance, she lunged forward and aimed a punch with her free hand at Klara's torso.

Klara did not have time to dodge. Her opponent had come at her unexpectedly before she could release her Spielzeug. She caught the blow square in the chest, but recovered, landing gracefully some distance away. The German girl had come with Daisuke, not because she felt that she was exceptionally powerful, but because she had a bond with the Shinigami. A bond that made her loathe to see him come to harm in Makai.
"Zeig dich, Weisse Frau!" she called, commanding her equivalent to a zanpakuto to manifest. A spirit appeared then, forging a body out of moisture in the very air. The arid Makai atmosphere was going to make this fight difficult. "It is good to see you again, Klara!" beamed the spirit. Klara smiled, and leaped back even farther, taking a defensive stance. Her Spielzeug imitated her. "Let's take her together!" Klara and Weisse Frau simultaneously threw a single punch. Klara's fist was aimed at only air, but her fighting spirit reached for the Youkai.

Haruka dropped into a defensive crouch, intimidated slightly by the wave of energy heading her way. Klara's power was incredible!
Hope this works! she thought, preparing to strike with an open palm. Before the wave could reach her, she thrust her hand out, shooting a cyclone from her palm. The wild winds connected with the energy blast causing it to dissipate.

Haruka took the opportunity to use the dissipating energy to cloak her moves and rushed Klara once again.
Maybe if I catch her off guard again...
Haruka burst from the mist, another cyclone spinning in the palm of her hand. Without hesitation, she launched it at Klara.

Klara braced herself, but it was not enough. The maelstrom carried her Spielzeug up off the ground and into a nearby column. Pain wracked both bodies, though Klara suffered no physical injury herself. She shook off the sting of the blow, and willed Weisse Frau to fight on. The ghostly, blue-tinged spirit placed two hands together, forging a blade of ice in the shape of a naginata. She spun gracefully once, and sliced into the ground beside her at Klara's command. The blade shattered, sending a thousand knives and needles in Haruka's direction.

Haruka managed to dodge some of the ice needles by blowing them off course with a strong gust, but it wasn't enough. Thinking fast, she dove into the oncoming attack, blocking her head and face with her arms. She grunted as the shards penetrated her forearms. A few random shards hit her in the leg, but she managed to avoid receiving damage to her head and torso.
Blood was now running down her arms, mingling with the water as the shards melted.
"We're gonna play like that, huh?" she said, smiling blankly. "Then let's go!"
She focused her energy, creating a pocket of strong wind about her body. She let it lift her off the ground and rocket her in the direction of her opponent.
I have to get rid of that spirit fighting with her. It seems to be the source of all her attacks.
She drew her other sai and sliced at the spirit.

Weisse Frau smiled sweetly.
"You must be faster than that, friend." A massive surge of spiritual pressure halted the advance of the Youkai as the Spielzeug raised a single finger to touch Haruka's chest. A flower of ice bloomed and then erupted, sending her back to her pocket of air.
"I'm doing it! I'm actually fighting with a real Youkai!" Klara whispered to herself. She fought the urge to hop up and down. Maintaining her momentum, Klara and Weisse Frau followed up with a quick pursuit of Haruka and a spinning heel kick toward her diaphragm.
Klara continued to pour spiritual energy into the attack, knowing that the Youkai would certainly not go down so quickly.
