[ HH PVP ] Friends and Enemies (Xiu, Poke, Dakota, Ami)

It was strange that Ami found herself agreeing with the horseman she despised so much. Death was an escape for the weak. She had learned that through experience; clawing one's way across the scorching desert of life was the only real measure of merit.

She wouldn't be ashamed to admit that scraping through Pokerus felt right. It was natural, and there was something slightly manic that spun around the rings of her eyes. She wanted to say things to the scaled beast, to drill into her skin a warning. This is what you reap, maybe. Perhaps it was this is who I am, burn it into your wounds. It was only the horseman's touch that had her shaken (rather forcefully) from the strange trance she'd put herself in.

Ami's eyes squinted only a hair more than usual at her captor's behavior. "Although he is incredibly inarticulate," she said, "I do believe he has a point. Though I wouldn't hold you to the concept of honor. It would be foolish to do so." Ami was rambling on basis that she had already condemned herself to this cage. There was very much something in her posture that said at least I got to do it at all, deal or no deal.

She ignored the phone. It was both idiotic to pull it out in front of an enemy and drop her guard; vigilance was everything.

The half of Xiu that wasn't completely terrified over the condition of her friend was trying to bite back the bitter sarcasm that leaked into her thoughts when she caught scraps of the hunters' words. Really, wow. The horseman isn't letting anyone go, what a surprise. Good thing he only believes in torture and not murder.

Hurraaaay.

She tugged sharply against the chains again, the metal clattering loudly as she twisted left and right. "Ah yes, death is for the weak. Now tell me more about how you're so strong for beating up chained up prisoners." Honestly, Xiu wasn't sure why she was trying to break free when she knew full well that it would do nothing. Maybe it was just a way to vent her frustrations--the fact that she was literally incapable of moving to Poke's side to help her when she so desperately needed it.

"Let us go, chain yourself up, and then fight us," She muttered, "Then maybe you can call yourself strong."

The War horsemen opened his mouth to say something-

- When the entire prison foundations shook, sand, soot, and dust falling everywhere. There were shouts coming from above. Alarms. Sounds of intruders.

And then the sound of a horn, heralding a warning. Immediately the Horseman stood attentive, on edge, and without even looking back at the prisoners, left, the door locking closed behind him. Something was very wrong.

Time passed. The sounds of struggle and scuffle did not cease and occasionally there would be loud crashes, the sound of what felt like tiny earthquakes shaking the area. Then, the door began to crack, breaking until pressure-

- And then give away completely. Outside dust, was sand and blood, horsemen engaged in fighting figures in white. Hunters.

A Hunter stopped at the entrance. A short Hunter, with black hair. He squinted at the prisoners, and then narrowed his eyes. "Are there any hostiles here?" This was addressed to the Hunters in the room.

Good old Dakota, if she wasn't bleeding everywhere she would of found him hilarious. But knowing both he and Xiu were stuck in this place with her was more painful then any physical wound that could be inflicted on her. (although the ones she had already came pretty ******** close). None the less, she wanted them out. Away from this psychopath before he could dare hurt them.

At this point she could hardly care less what happened to Ami.

She so desperately wanted to fight back, tear him to pieces for even daring to think about harming her friends. But now she could hardly breathe let alone do anything useful. The irony of the water dragon's situation was not missed.

Of course the horsemen wasn't letting them go, but before he could utter another word Poke felt the jail shake, shackles clacking wildly as debris fell around her. A horn sounded in the distance, and their captor disappeared.

The heck was going on?? Though she couldn't see she could hear the sounds of conflict, small earthquakes continuing to shake the area until the prison door broke down. Weakly she turned her head towards the light, blurry eyes making out colors, red being a predominant one, and moving figures.

A big white blob stood in the doorway, and the dragon recoiled at the sight of a hunter. She offered no words, coughing up more blood from her lungs. This would either bode very well or very badly for them. Dakota and Ami would be saved, but Xiu and herself could be shoved into another misprision with a even worser fate awaiting them, and in her state there was no way she could make a escape. She gritted her teeth, worry etched in her features for Xiu's welfare.

But...at the very least, Dakota would be safe. That much she was thankful for.

The phone message was bright and clear and Dakota was tired and angry. But if he just held on-

The door exploded into nothing and he could see hunters.

Hunters were here.

"OI!" He called to the short black haired one. "These are friendlies, The dragon needs help. Get us the ******** out of here."

It's all too familiar. The shaking, the sirens, the shuffle of feet against earth as they probed to find the lost hunters. Ami did all of this before; it's like a horrible nightmare she can't seem to wake up from. It left her short of breath, palms to the back of her cage as she waits for the dream to end.

"Are there any hostiles here?"

She said nothing, not at first, looking to the dragon and the pink haired one. Then Dakota spoke up.

"They're not friendlies," she snapped at Dakota and the other hunter. "They are not hostile, but we are not risking our escape on them." She reached forward to clasp one of the bars.

This time she referred to the black haired hunter. "Get us out. Now."

Unfamiliar hunters. Xiu trusted them as much as she trusted this horseman, so it wasn't relief that filled her upon seeing them but additional dread. Dakota, at least, would be safe, and Ami too (though the baku was decidedly less fond of her), but what of her and Poke? She didn't find it likely that they'd let them go.

...Would they?

Stuck between two potential enemies and worried for the health of her friend, Xiu grit her teeth and sat there in silence. With nothing else that she could do, she would literally just have to sit and wait for some sort of opportunity to present itself before she could even consider acting.

"Are they or are they not?" said Hunter narrowed their eyes at the conflicting information from Dakota and Ami. "You know what, we don't have time for this-" with a loud clang he destroyed most of the ceiling decal with his weapon, the ones holding the Hunters back, at least. Their prison doors were smashed open. He turned to look at the two imprisoned Halloween creatures when he suddenly paused, and stopped to listen to his headset, one hand on his ear. "s**t. Change of plans. Run. They're collapsing the portal in thirty freaking seconds."

He bolted.

With two comforting replies, it seemed the hunter didn't know what to do. So he just left them there.

...Well then.

Pokerus didn't know weather to feel relieved or pissed off. But she did catch the tail - end of his sentence; They only had 30 seconds to get out of there

"Dako - "She half coughed his name. "Get...Xiu out of here and run for it. Don't worry about me..." She didn't have the energy to move let along run. She'd only slow them down.

Dakota didn't even hesitate.

He went to Poke's cage, pulling it open. He didn't look for Ami, He didn't care too. He could never leave two girls helpless in a cave anyways.

"Come on Poke." He muttered, holding the girl up. "Come on now."

Ami didn't hesitate. She booked it, leaving the monsters and Dakota behind.

She couldn't have regrets in self-preservation.

Xiu felt no surprise at all that Ami left without any hesitation, but she would have been lying had she claimed to not be at least a little surprised by Dakota's decision to stay. She had come to find that he was a rather likable type of hunter, but even so, at the risk of getting stuck here himself...

"Is she okay?" the baku demanded, brows knit in worry as she rose up on her knees and tried to catch a glimpse of Poke's present state. There was a pause, and then her gaze slid over towards the portal and then back to Dakota.

"And for that matter, are you going to be okay?"

"Ill be fine little one." Dakota didn't know if bandages helped Poke, or even if his weapon could heal the dragon. He took his jacket off and wrapped it around the dragon girl, hoping to staunch anymore of the black fear oozing from her wounds.

"Poke, I'm gonna unlock Xiu's cage, I'll be right back." He looked at her. "I'll be right back okay?" He moved over to the baku's, his time failing him. It was already past 30 seconds.

"Do you have fear? Or whatever to heal her?" He popped the lock open. "Seriously don't worry about me. I've been training to handle Solo missions. It's actually pretty funny..." He tried to smile at her, "I'm one of the best trained search and rescue hunters."

Of course he didn't listen to her. He could have run away, but nope, Dakota was gonna be super bad a** and stay behind.

Pokerus could barely lift her head and stare as the cage was opened, the braces around her wrist loosening and leaving her to fall to the ground. Or would have if not for Dakota holding her up.

Out of the corner of her eye she saw the flash of a coat, anger rising at how Ami was just abandoning him to his fate but just as quickly disappearing. She didn't have time to focus on the other hunter. She could hear Xius frantic voice next to her.

Her mouth twitched at the mention of little one, when he refered to Xiu. Jack dam that was kind of adorable. And now he was giving her his jacking coat.

"O-okay." She coughed, a smirk crossing her features as he went out to free Xiu. Everyone had told her how bad and evil hunters could be, and yet here one of them was, risking their lives for her. It was amazing.

Her smirk faded as pain licked at her senses, the ghoul reaching for the wraps around her hands. They made for a nice fashion accessory but they also doubled as excellent bandages. She gritted her teeth as she crouched on the floor, glad neither of them could see the extent of the damage that had been done to her body. Now she pushed back the mess that was her organs into her body, wrapping the bandages around to keep them inside, hand clutching at her abdomen in hopes of using what remained of her FEAR to try and heal it, while making a note to attend the next first aid class she could get into.

Dakota was still assuring them he would be alright, and she growled as she pushed herself up before falling against the wall. Everything was hurting, and her vision spun horribly, and she privately hoped Xiu knew some healing spells. She needed to get better so she could fight. She had to protect them, she just had to.

It only took moments later before everything shook again, rock and debris falling around them. Dust, circling around them, darkness.

They were encased. They were buried.
