Cool, and I have watch all of the last airbender series. I love that that did bring the cabbage seller into the Korra series. He my favorite non-essential character in both series. ""NOT MY CABBAGES!!!" XD

Any thoughts in particular that you want them to talk about specifically? Or keep more to a welcoming gathering?

What they should talk about? Hmm... Well, it's more or less 'good luck' when dealing with Val. Max is more outgoing so you could get him to talk, but Val is a lot harder. More or less, no matter the topic, it's probably going to get awkward, and I'm going to do it on purpose. Just so you know. Because Val is kinda that type of guy. Um... He won't respond if you try to get him to start a conversation. He doesn't believe in pointless chatter. If you want to get a real dialogue, I'd go for something political. Maybe relations with other countries or something.

Hehe, I know that Atticus is going to ask Val about what the feeling of Val's people are and are they open to marriage b/w the two. Will it be safe for her to visit there without having to deal with anyone opposing the union of his daughter and Val.

Yeah. It should be fine. Even if they are opposed to Seraphina, they're not likely to try and cross Val about it.

Ah, will Max try to Seraphina against Val at some point? She coming along a bit slowly atm.

Okay, and a debating whether to have her faint, just to see what their reactions would be to it. But not sure though and might save a fainting spell later on where it would be more dramatic possibly.
