Phase Two: The fight
Maple wanted to believe! She wanted those words to be true as they rang in her ear along with the pounding of her core. With another bout of effort, Maple raised her broom to swing at the shadow once more. It connected with its shoulder, finally releasing its grip upon her layered brown hair but not with out taking a small chunk with it. "Ow ~"

Phase Two: The fight
"Yes, Maple, just like that." The boil locked up said. "Recall our spar, I know you can do it. You're not a failure, not at all." AJ knew it well, even she failed and whined, she did never give up no matter how reluctant she is. Baking lesson in Xmas, the spar and when they went to get the wyvern egg, he was there with her and witnessed the effort she made.
Timid, born with negative mindset but would try so hard and fond of reading, that was his friend, the witch that he is so proud of.

Phase Two: The fight
Why wouldn't it? She cried in her head, tears nearly bubbling in the corners of her eyes. She was oh so tired of this exam now and had to wonder what sort of information they were gathering about her from this, besides the usual sorts of notes she could think up about herself. (None of them good).
"I'm t-tired of th-this...!" The witch whined, raising the grip on her broom in a more baseball like fashion. She wound up for the swing and just let it lose, whimpering ever so slightly as the bristles once again connected into the form of the Shadow. In its last ditch efforts, it managed a jab into her side before it fully just collapsed under the weight of her broom. It split down the middle, the black cloud parting and didn't seem to try to reform once again. It simply dispersed into the air, leaving nothing in its wake.
Maple, on the other hand, nearly dropped her broom from the sight and almost let out another cry. Her shoulders slumped and she fell to her knees and threatened to continue the descent down until she was laying on the ground. But no, she just sat on the ground like a pathetic little lump.

Phase Two: The fight
"Maple!" With a short call, the witch was hugged tightly. The boil rushed to her once the constraint lifted up. When she could barely feel the warmth inside his bosom, he pulled himself back to check on her. "Are you okay?" AJ gently picked up her arm to turn, there were minute of small cuts then he rubbed her head where hair was pulled. "Does it still hurt?" whispered the boil softly. When it was that close, Maple could see the bruises around his neck and on his arms, they were like the trace of entanglement by pythons.
After confirming she was mildly injured only, he beamed brightly at her. "Well done, Maple. We made it!" The excited tone was infectious. "Do you need a small break? We still need to step out the exit and find Professor Zephron."
Whether they had a break or not, the hellhound was waiting for them under tree shade. "Thanks Professor." He took the cert with both hands, and waited for Maple to get hers before he picked her up. "Excuse us for leaving for a check now, Professor. Hope to see you in class again." Carrying the witch in princess style, their destination was the infirmary.
