R'in of Bronze Demodeth

People and dragons were just slipping and sliding all over, weren't they? Demodeth slowed long enough to take a glance behind, choosing one of his brighter siblings to praise. Maybe some kind words would help get everything back on track.

    Isteth. Good work.

    He tried.

Quote:
first leg // demodeth roll // average shape

2-3. Oh, look at all those handsome clutchmates! Your dragon seems more interested in trailing behind than putting in much effort. There are cute boys (or girls, or both) to admire, after all. And that one in particular has suddenly caught your dragons eye. Quote the Weyrling dragon above you so you can spend a little time gazing at their fine tail, and send them a bit of personal encouragement. Ty'nan and Blue Chinanazith
Fit / In Great Shape
First leg:
1. 10 -- Demodeth wingflap trips Ty'nan, +0
2. 7 -- just not feeling it, +1
3. 2 -- feeling strong, +4
Chinanazith: 5 -- he's a maniac!

Second leg:
1. 4 -- slow and steady, +2
2.
3.
Chinanazith:
Points: 7

Ty'nan had forgotten how big the Weyr Lake was, or seemed in soggy conditions like this. His pace slowed to a trot as he tried to breathe without getting rain in his lungs. This really wasn't as easy as it seemed at first...

Quote:
4-5. You're struggling. The Weyr Lake seems never ending. Slow and steady wins the race, and while you might slow down your speed--or slip into a bit of a walk--you know this is best. Nothing wrong with taking a little breather. [+2 point] If you're athletic ability is poor, gain an extra two points for listening to the needs of your body. [+1 point]

B’den and Green Riojath
Poor / What's Exercise?
3/3 First Leg

B'den was not cut out for this. Why had Riojath picked her? A rider who couldn't even keep up with her own dragon was pitiful. The woman panted and wheezed. The rain didn't help in trying to catch her breath. Because you are perfect as you are Mine. I will wait for you as long as I need to. Aw darling, I'm sorry. I will try not to keep you waiting long!

Total: 2
Quote:

6-7. This. Sucks. Not only are you wet and cold but running? Really? You've only just begun and already you're panting for breath. You can tell this is going to be a very long run--and even if you're known to be a runner, for some reason, you're just not felling it. [+1 Point] If you're in Poor Shape, add another point, because you know when to listen to your body, and not push it. And right now, it does not want to be pushed. [+1 Point]

Niviora and Green Sauzath
Fit / In Great Shape
Middle leg:
1. +1
2.
3.
Sauzath:
Points: 6

Quote:
2-3. Halfway through! At least, you think you're about halfway through. You're really getting winded now, and it is very tempting to slow down or stop. Still, you push on. You're getting close to the feeding pens--and need to encourage your dragon to keep running so they don't stop and scare the herdbeasts. If you feel a little hungry, and the herdbeasts look a little tasty, you know fully that's just your dragon's doing! [+1 point]

Halfway done, and they could do this. Much harder in the rain and mud, but. Sauzath's head turned as they turned with the lake, staring at the herdbeasts as they ran by -- and it was a testament to the silent will that Sauzath didn't sate her hunger. She could at least wait until after the race.

Maybe.

Aerden and Blue Tianxiath
Fit/In Great Shape
3/3 Middle Leg
Points: 13

"I'm alright." Aerden wheezed, placing his hands on Tianxiath's nose to keep him from bumping his chest again. "C'mon, bud." They still had a while to go... and from the looks of it, people were getting hurt. Poor Fahn! And he'd have to apologize to R'xa later, too...

Aerden had just started to run again when he stepped into a puddle--and nearly faceplanted as he sank straight into the mud. That was cold. And wet. With a grimace, he forced himself to keep going, grunting at the strain. That wasn't enough to stop him.

Quote:
6-7. You're running hard. The sooner this is over, the sooner you can rest... or at least start packing sand. Unfortunately, you step right into a puddle, that was much deeper than it looked, and find yourself up to the knee in wet.
Horrible just... Horrible. [+1 point] If you're the active sort, you're not quite as bothered. A little resistance is good for the muscles, right? Take an extra point. [+1 point]

R'xa and Blue Isteth

Sore wrist or not, R'xa was not at all deceived into thinking she could make short work of this race. No way. R'xa was neither fast enough nor strong enough to quickly run around such a large lake, but she could at least try to pace herself. Isteth on the other hand did not know anything about such tactics.

R'xa, who are we going to knock over? the dragonet asked brightly, deciding that this was great fun.

[Rolling!

First Leg:
1. 8-9. You're just running. It's wet, and you're cold, and neither pleased nor displeased by all of this. At least the Weyr Lake is pretty in the rain. [+1 point]
2. 10. Ouch! One of the weyrlings, in their excitement, winds up flapping their wings and causing you to trip! The young dragon doesn't seem to realize what happened, and keeps running--but your own dragon might have something to say about it! :V
Randomize an active Weyrling to see which Weyrling it was! (Only choose those that are participating in the game!) In the meantime, roll a D4 to see what happens.
[It's Tianxiath]
4. You actually fall, and in your attempt to catch yourself, hit the ground hard. Picking yourself back up, your wrist is sore--better watch it to see if it gets better or worse. Ouch.
3. 4-5. You're not fooled by the size of the Weyr Lake. You know it's deceptively large, and is a lot wider than it seems. You pace yourself, knowing full well this is going to be all about stamina and the long haul. [+2 Point] If you're in Average Shape, go ahead and add one more point, because you're definitely on the right train of thought! [+1 Point]

First leg:
1. 10 -- Demodeth wingflap trips Ty'nan, +0
2. 7 -- just not feeling it, +1
3. 2 -- feeling strong, +4

Second leg:
1. 4 -- slow and steady, +2
2. 6 -- steps in pothole from hell, +2
3.
Chinanazith:
Points: 9

Refreshed after his little break, Ty'nan took off again -- and stepped into a puddle. Not just any puddle, this one concealed a pothole, and the young man found himself up to his knee in murky, muddy water. "Fardles!" he barked, careful not to fall on his face again. Oh well, it was really just another speed bump in this adventure... He took a long step, pulling his leg out of the puddle-pit, and continued on.

R'xa and Blue Isteth

"Isteth..." Confounded by the sight of Isteth just flopped down into the mud, R'xa stared at him. "Isteth, come on. We've got to go." I don't wanna! I want to trip somebody! Wouldn't that be more fun? the dragonet said, watching his siblings with naughty intentions.

Ugh. "Isteth, please! This is a bad time to try to trip anyone. Come on. Please?" Sharding dragon. After much coaxing, R'xa was finally able to get him to at least stand up... and then it was time to go back to the races again.

1. 1. Your dragon does not want to do this. Nope. Perhaps they're just distracted, perhaps they're feeling lazy, they actually sit down and start to curl up. Unfortunately, your rider has to try to urge them to go--which means they have to pause in their own jog to get their dragonet going. [-5 points]

R'thell and green Triesteth
First Leg
1. 10 - Demodeth winglfap failure - Fall - Sore Right Wrist (ruh-roh) 0 points
2. 2 - +4 points - Feeling good.
3. 6 - +1 point - Sucks
4. Puddle Time - 2 for R'thell / - 2 for Ry'xa
Total: +3

Second Leg:
1. +3 points
2.
3.
4.

Trieseth didn't know what happened.

One moment she had been having fun with Isteth--or she had thought they would be having fun--and the next she was getting scolded by both Tianxiath and Isteth! The little green hardly knew where to turn, and instead sat down completely, eyes turning a bit grey with sadness.

What... What did she do?

Oh! Oh Tanxiath, I am.. I didn't know... I didn't see--! She creeled piteously, head drooping sadly Is he okay? Isteth, is Yours okay? I hadn't meant to be a bad dragon or do crimes. Should I... Should I tell Orioth? Oh, how awful of her. She truly hadn't meant to do anything wrong at all.

R'thell, of course, had to pause in his own run. "Er, sorry Aerden. I... I hope she didn't get you too badly. It was just an accident." He'd need to better apologize if he could, later--to both Ry'xa and Aerden.

"Come on, Triesteth. It's all right." He tried to assure, reaching up to gently rub her cheeks and eye ridges. "See? He's already running again--they both are." Though the grey in Triesteth's eyes didn't quite leave, the green did finally sit up and carry on with her trot-- trying to be as careful as possible.

Ty'nan and Blue Chinanazith
Fit / In Great Shape
First leg:
1. 10 -- Demodeth wingflap trips Ty'nan, +0
2. 7 -- just not feeling it, +1
3. 2 -- feeling strong, +4
Chinanazith: 5 -- he's a maniac!

Second leg:
1. 4 -- slow and steady, +2
2. 6 -- steps in pothole from hell, +2
3. 1 -- collision with Tianxiath! +0
Chinanazith:
Points: 9

Ty'nan was rolling right along, when out of the blue, a blue ran into him! Immediately he knew that it wasn't Chinananzith, because the blue hide was rather a bit darker than Chin's. Neither of them seemed hurt, however, just a bit banged up and bruised. "Come on, little fella, go find your rider," Ty'nan murmured to the wayward Tianxiath, untangling them both from each other. Getting back up, he shooed the little blue off and started running again. This was going to be over soon, right?

Quote:
1. You thought you were doing well, but an errant weyrling winds up running right into you! While you're certainly not trampled, both rider and dragonet wind up tangled and muddy! Randomize Publicy an Active Weyrling to see which Weyrling was the offender and quote them so they know!! (Only choose those that are participating in the game!) Then roll a D-4 and see what happens!

1. You're not too bad off. A few small bruises, but nothing you can't shake off--even if that was a close call!

Nashwa and Gold Ilaorunth
Fit / In Great Shape
Middle Leg 0/3
Points: 1

With Nashwa harrying and guilting her into it, Ilaorunth finally got going at a decent clip, while Nashwa herself ran well clear of her dragon in hooes of avoiding being smacked by an errant wing or tail. The young woman's attention was pulled a hundred different directions, from keeping her dragon going to watching her footing to keeping an eye on all the other dragons bouncing about.

She saw trouble coming a second too late. By the time she cried out for Ilaorunth to stop, the gold was practically right on top of Fahn, and in the wet conditions, it was impossible for her to stop in time to avoid trampling the greenrider. She tried, she really did, and all but leapt away, slipping and skidding and already creeling with worry. I'm sorry! I didn't mean to!

"Fahn!" Nashwa sprinted forward as quickly as she could and slid to a stop of her own beside Fahn, looking her over with frantic worry. "Oh, Faranth, are you okay?" No, no, obviously she wasn't, and help was already on its way. "You just- don't move too much, okay? They're coming to get you."

If she had any confidence that she could pick up and carry the other girl without causing more harm than good, she would have, but sense prevailed. "I'm so, so sorry."
