Nemeryn - he/him
His abrupt lesson with the eggs during the Touching left Nemeryn reserved at the end of the day, for his social skills were... lacking. Though it would have been easy to stew and brood over it, he'd decided to shrug it off with the intention of doing better next time. He had a little trouble with his robe, as it was slightly too small for him, but he was dressed and ready to present himself to the hatching eggs.
The redhead scanned the crowd roughly with slightly narrowed eyes, and upon spotting his quarry, shouldered his way through the gathered bunch to stand by Aneirin. His hand brushed gently against his boyfriend's, but before he could even say much, not one, but two browns hatched--one from an egg that had been very dissatisfied with how he'd conducted himself. He certainly didn't expect the smaller of the two to launch himself at his brother, but was a little impressed despite himself.
A green hatched quietly, and from the expression on her face, she was hardly impressed. Nemeryn snorted to himself, giving Aneirin a nudge as he nodded in her direction.
Bukichi - he/him
He instantly came awake when roused, quickly and neatly dressing himself in preparation for meeting Kleoth's brood. The former thief was pointedly not thinking about how his whole life could change today--if his dragon was on the sands today. He certainly hadn't forgotten the last thought from the egg he'd touched, and so he didn't even bother looking for Matotoka... save to make sure to keep his distance.
Indeed, he ended up settling near Valendyr and Sioryl, used to the tension settling int he pit of his stomach by now. He could sense their excitement, allowing a brief smile to flicker across his face before he focused intently on the two browns that hatched. The smaller of the two clearly felt slighted, launching himself at his larger brother without any sign of hesitation.
Bukichi.... could relate to that more than he'd like.
Of course, a pale, green eye caught his attention quickly, and he watched as she delicately cleaned herself, entirely unimpressed with her brothers.
Serrekhar
"I'm hurryin'!" He snapped, both anxious and excited for what was to come. Only an idiot wouldn't be excited about baby dragons! But baby dragons could be scary, too...
"Some of 'em." He admitted. There'd been a lot of nice eggs. He perked up as one of them seemed so close to hatching, jabbing his elbow into Josen's ribs. "Look!" And yet, another dragon hatched before the Orange and Purple Dapple could. A brown--no, two browns! He tried so hard not to think of the smaller one as cute, having received a stern reminder about it, but shards...
Of course, it helped when he launched himself at his brother, and the two started to bite and claw at one another. Serrekhar hated every second of it, but knew by now that it wasn't uncommon between the young dragons until they found theirs. Emotions ran high, after all...
He nearly missed the green that hatched, taking her time in cleaning herself...

As irritated as the Orange and Purple Dapple brown seemed to be, it didn't appear that his attack had been designed to cause serious harm. Rather, like Emperor Penguin, he was trying to show his brother who was boss. That their sister was unimpressed with them didn't bother him even a little. I was taking my time. Exploding from my egg was not my plan, he groused, but only took a few irritable swipes at his brother.
He stood hissing, tail lashing, attention slowly turning to the Candidates on the Sands. He'd vented his anger at his brother, which had been his intention, but he was also there to find His. Which of these might that be? Moving on from his scuffle, the brown began to traverse the Sands, searching for just the right person. The dragonet started first with where the boys seemed to be gathered, eyes wavering between red and blue, a curious study in contrasts.

OREUNE
If it hadn't been for Mhan helping her out, Oreune probably would have been asleep on the sands to some degree. She wasn't a morning person, at least not lately with the stress of a hatching forcing her into a deep sleep, but now there was no reason to stay dreaming.
Now she was on the sands watching a brown hatch, then another, and then watching them fight. It'd be a lie to say her stomach didn't drop ever so slightly at that, but it was over quickly and with such little fanfare that she....was okay.
And still of course thankful for her friend at her side.
"Did you touch one of those eggs?" She couldn't recall which eggs the other girl had said she touched, but Oreune knew at least she hadn't. Touched those eggs, that is.
Shifting where she stood on the sands, or at least foot to foot, the young woman was careful to send only the required thoughts and keep everything how it was. Good thoughts, happy thoughts, hope???
Thoughts.

Oh, good! It had been worried! Grey Starry Egg wiggled just enough for another gentle bonk against Yellow Swirl - this time a bonk of affection rather than accident - and considered the situation. Was it time yet? It did seem to be an opportune time to perhaps emerge without stealing anyone's spotlight. Carefully, ever so carefully so as not to unduly disturb its closest neighbor, the dragonet inside finished its work of weakening its shell from the inside, and spilled out onto the Sands. It had, maybe, made just a little bit of a miscalculation, in that it had been just a little bit upside-down, so it just sort of...ooze-rolled its way out.
The dark hatchling that stood to get its bearings was massive, and absolutely covered head-to-toes in sand, but wasn't the least bit bothered. It threw its head back and bugled happily. Hello, friends! Hello!!
Oh, also- It trotted back over to Yellow Swirl to softly boop it. You just keep right on snoozing until you're good and ready, siblegg! Whatever makes you happy!
Cracked Egg Green, meanwhile, continued to be unimpressed. And no, that was not a joke, because it was an obvious and stupid joke that she was above making. What she was not above, however, was sidling right up close to Bee Egg to peer into the peephole her sibling had made.

Mhinadi
Mhinadi nodded, a little distractedly because, you know, there were dragonets chewing on each other not that far away. Still, she'd heard the question, and after things seemed to be settling down, she tore her attention away.
"I touched the egg the bigger brown came out of. It was -- he," she amended, now that he'd revealed himself, "He's the one that was upset that I had sand on my hands when I touched his shell." And he was still definitely giving off proud vibes.
O don't think I touched the other one. Or the one the green came out of, either. Don't know anything about that one."

Aleyath
Aleyath usually made time to come to every Western hatching, and would have attended more at other weyrs had he been allowed. There was something... sparkly about new life, and the antics of the freshly hatched reminded him of his own, once upon a time. He watched the baby browns hiss and spit with bright blue eyes, and if he bounced on his forelegs a little at their antics, surely his ledge was too high for anyone to notice.
K'bet and Rubiginth
K'bet was jostled from a dead sleep by the tinny hum and racing thoughts of his blue. The last thing he heard before Rubiginth launched himself off of his ledge was something about documenting this momentous day in song. He should have known that would mean he wouldn't get to rest for much longer.
The dragon sped to a ledge with a decent view (the best view for this sort of creative documentation, if you asked him) and settled in to watch the arrival of his nieces and nephews. As the first shells began to crack, Rubiginth gently prodded his rider's mind. Mine? Would you be so kind as to take a few notes for me?
Brenley
He was already mostly awake when their summons came, hands folded over the softly humming flit curled atop his chest. Bren rose quickly and quietly, slipping into his now-familiar robes and sandals and combing his fingers through his pale hair to settle it into a more respectable shape. He straightened with a deep inhale and fell in line.
Following a bow for Kleoth, Brenley positioned himself at the back of the crowd, watching as a trio of quite opinionated dragons emerged from their shells. He smiled faintly at the wobbles of Purple Dinosaur Spots and Grey Starry's happy honk, then stood up straight for the smaller Orange and Purple Dapple hatchling's inspection. He doubted he would merit a brown, but that didn't mean he was going to disrespect them.

Sioryl
As another Candidate came over to the little group forming, Sioryl gave him a little smile through his tears which he was still trying to mop up. A pale green had hatched, the two browns were done with their little joust, and more eggs were beginning to show signs of life.
Turning back to the sands to watch, his heart gave a little jolt as the Grey Starry Egg finally broke through its shell. It was a...well. Sand dragon, it seemed! He couldn't tell the color, but that didn't matter. He had a promise to keep no matter what type of dragon that was!
"Hello!" he said in a stage whisper, not wanting to actually shout. He waved with one hand as he sniffled heartily, trying to get his tears under control. He was still so moved by the little dragons coming into the world that it was hard to reign it in, but he knew he couldn't be a blubbering mess the whole time. Finally it seemed he'd gotten the tears to stop and he waved a bit more heartily, waiting for the sand covered hatchling to notice him.
---
Surel
Surel let out a breath of relief as the two browns ceased their squabble. More dragons were on the sands now and she gave them each a look, knowing that some babies got upset if they weren't paid any attention. The little green didn't seem to care much about being noticed right now and the sandy...undetermined one seemed jovial about its current predicament. Generally happy, it seemed, was the mood on the sands. Or at the very least tolerable.
She noticed a few of the other Candidates slowly shuffling in her direction but she didn't mind. There were gaps in the circle of Candidates that needed to be filled and since there were no Candidates from High Reaches this time they'd probably all bunched together at first in anticipation of the other young adults filing in. Now they could fill in the gaps.
Uta She sees you, subtle friend!

Papys - He/Him
Papys more than welcomed the candidate who sidled on over next to him, beaming down at Ollandin - though that also seemed to be his default expression. "Every day can be exciting, but this one is bound to be extra exciting," he agreed enthusiastically, offering him a hearty pat on the shoulder.
"Look at 'em all eager to get out of their shells now! We'll blink and they'll all be hatched before we know it!" And how exciting that would be!
----- Matotoka - He/Him
"Hi!" Matotoka greeted back, clearly unbothered that Tihrokat had come over to stand by him. "They're energetic - or I bet they will be until they all tucker themselves out and ask Theirs to carry 'em off to their first real meal," he noted idly, certain that they were all to be ravenous soon enough.
But outside of a little snipping at each other, they overall seemed docile enough.
----- Josen - He/Him
Josen frowned at the brief sibling scuffle - not disapproval, just that it was never fun to watch newly hatched siblings go at each other. But they were newborn and unimpressed and were bound to have all sorts of incomplete feelings they were dealing with.
He didn't know. He'd never been an unimpressed baby dragon.
"Well maybe they'll come say hello t'ya," Josen posed thoughtfully, having not gotten incredibly strong impressions - rather, opinions - about any single egg in particular.
-----
Kadosse - She/Her
Eggs were hatching before they had even gotten settled, it felt like, and Kadosse was experiencing way too many waves of feelings all at once - elation at the handsome brown, and then *yet another* handsome brown - oh, they seem to be having a bit of a disagreement - and then oh!
"Goodness! I was going to be the purple and orange one was going to hatch first," she sighed, brushing a free hand over her cheek with some essence of drama. "He's still very handsome, though."
And of course, more and more eggs were movin' and crackin' and poking little faces out - "Awww, look at that little sandy baby - can you tell what color they are under all that?"
----- Amahno - He/Him
Ohhh, the second egg to hatch - but the first Amahno paid stark attention to - was the one that had very.....pointed opinions as far as he could remember. Ah, you can look through your own eyes now, he noted as the brown approached the group and began to do just that - look. And he, in turn, looked back at him.

Ollandin
Ollandin's gaze swung up to the boy beside him, and he returns the smile, though less broadly. No less genuine if slightly less enthusiastic. He just wasn't built to show quite that many teeth when he wasn't at his absolute ease. Still, he appreciated the shoulder pat and the energy. It sort of made him want to lift up onto his toes.
"They're really coming now," he agreed. And yeah, Papys was right. It was exciting. "Let's just hope they don't come to bowl us off their feet, after tumbling tound like that."
Mhinadi
Mhinadi nearly leapt out of her sandals when the Starry egg left the shell, too. "I touched that one too," she pointed out to Oreune. "Did you get a chance? It as really friendly. Really sweet. Boy, it's ... big, though. Can you tell what color it is?" She certainly couldn't. Not with all that sand!
