I honestly wish I had better supplies. xp
As a beginner, I normally use just mechanical pencils .7 since I can't find .5 xp
I use color pencils also, I just need to find a sharpener or I won't be able to color. mad d
I use #2 pencils, sharpened of course, since dull and flat pencils don't work good for art, but a little bit of good shading. xD I know silly. xP
I'm still searching for a good eraser. I dislike erasers that smear your art, as for some pencil erasers do that. Uggh. White erasers are good, but I'm running low on that. x3

MeZergy I ALWAYS use Pilot pens to ink my drawings and I ALWAYS use BIC mechanical pencils for sketching. You say not to get Prismacolor markers? gonk Too late. I like them, but I've never used any other marker (besides crayola rolleyes ) prismacolor is my best friend

I have to agree that the best markers out there are Copic.
And, if you do get prisma, get the coor eggshell for skin. It's good.

I personally just use the following. A normal mechanical pencil, and some art pencils (2B, 3B, 4B). I Color them on the computer rather than with pencils, because it's easier to correct mistakes.
As for paper.......I use this special newsprint stuff i got from my cartooning class, and whatever I have lying around.

I can find prisma pencil crayons but I can't find prismacolor markers, does anybody got any ideas where you can buy them? Would anybody know of a place I could buy a graphire tablet and get it delivered to Canada?

Due to money issues, Hoshi only has 1 fine-ink pen(from my lovely onee-chan Chihiro heart ) and mechanical pencils from the dollar store BUT. She is working on buying a wacom graphite tablet(a 4x6 one?) but a tablet nonetheless.
Her Tablet fund is as stands: 35 cents and a gum wrapper/$100+
... gonk

anyone know anything about art supplies that are left-handed friendly? i'm am a lefty and i smear everything from pencil, to ballpointed pen, to whiteout... if there isn't anything that is left-handed user friendly, know any tips. i'd be much obliged, since right now my only coloring tool that doesn't color my hand is my basic photo editing system that is about as far from adobe photoshop as a ball of twine is from comfortable clothing.

animekitkatzzzz I Know plenty of art stores but NOOOO MONEY! urg...................and the only thingfs i can buy are stupid and cheap materials that re for 3 year olds!!!! know the feeling, sweetie. (i blame my saving every ounce of money to go to england this summer) i recommend checking the clearance section. One time, at michaels, i got this german inking set for $5!!! 'course, the ink only lasted for a couple of pics......like 2, and had no refills.
