Hmm, well, making the gate useless by removing part of it would be just as effective as destroying it. More so, you avoid the mahusive explosion.

The biggest thing I can remember a zat being used on was a box full of equipment. Or Teal'c, of course, but the biggest inanimate object was the box.

Hey, anyone know how you're supposed to activate a staff weapon? As in, what do you do to fire one? The actors never move their hands when they're shooting one, so, what, they're psychically connected to you? How do the makers explain that one off?
