xxxxx۩ Burn grew up with the thought of pleasing their prince was the most important thing there was, and really, all her people lived for. In the land she lived, her blood was the next closest thing to being royalty, but for a wholly different purpose. Her bloodline was bred for the sole purpose of being part of the princes Harem. There were a few families in this category to prevent inbreeding, but it was known that Burn's family provided the most gorgeous of all other families.

When Burn was a young filly she came across the young prince one day. He was so taken aback by her that he claimed she would be his number one when he was old enough to start his own harem. This made Burn incredibly proud and bragged about it constantly to her mother. This worried her mother, for she knew the truth about what lay in her daughters heart. The deep dark part that only her family was aware of. She warned Burn, that if she wanted to keep her place next to the prince, that she would have to keep that part of her hidden. And so Burn vowed to keep an air of sweetness when anyone was around. She would never loose her place next to the prince. When he became king, she would be there next to his side.

When the time came, she was joined into the harem and took her place next to the prince. It was her job to keep him happy and to pleasure him whenever he ordered. She reveled in the knowledge that he hardly went to others of his harem now that he had her.

One day a few years later, the prince went on a voyage to a neighboring kingdom with his father to hopefully renew their peace agreement. As tradition, Burn stayed behind to work on her studies. She would later recall the day her prince came home as the worst day of her life. She met him with a welcome home caravan, but he was not alone. He came trailing a scrawny ebony and red mare that hid behind her hair. She tried to remember her mothers words of warning to remain kind, but lost all thought when she was informed this new mare would be his number one. This unknown female from the neighboring land. She was a peasant in Burnadette's eyes. Lower than a peasant, she was a stranger to be untrusted. And now this stranger had her princes heart.

Burnadette saw it as her job to make life miserable for the new mare, though she did her best to do it in secret. She was able to endure this for a year, even two. But when she saw Charlotte had a secret, she knew it was her chance to regain her place next to the prince. She put on her best hurt look and ran to the prince. In tears, she recalled the scene of Charlotte meeting with another male. The way she giggled at his jokes and the way her eyelashes fluttered. She knew this was the only way aside from killing the mare herself to getting her rightful place.

She did not account for the princes generosity though. Charlotte was allowed to keep her romance with the male as long as she vowed that this male would never touch her. And because it was discovered she was pregnant with the prince's first brood, Charlotte was given even more of what she wanted. Burn simmered in her skin. Not only did this have the love that she believed belonged to her, but she didn't even appreciate it! There was nothing Burn could do for now. Her life became boring and tedious during the time of Charlotte's pregnancy. Only a secret few were allowed to be with the mare during this time as to protect the future foals. Burn continued with her studies, trying to kill time before she could once again torture the mare.

A new male came during this time. A male the prince said was a cousin from the West. To Burn's annoyance, the male seemed to take a liking to her. He followed her where ever she went, trying to charm her with his wit and jokes. He was the only one to ever see anything besides her sweet side when they were alone. Of course, no one was ever truly alone without an escort. But escorts were usually maids or a member of her own family.
