The Machine [Open/Accepting]

"Ok, and you're welcome." Monica replied before hanging up. She then called the steward of her mansion and informed him of Damien's arrival with the twins.

The twins turned to look at each other, then turned to look back at Damien and gave a small nod. "Will you visit us?" They asked at the same time.

"Of course" Damien replied, "now let's get going." With that he ordered the twins to be taken down and carefully loaded into the military vehicles. He wanted someone with medical training on standby with them.

The twins held each other's hands again as they were loaded up carefully. The two nurses were also boarded up with them in order to take care of them for a few days.

Damien followed along and got into a different military vehicle, to let a couple soldiers on the other one for protection. The armored vans were on their way to Monica's manor.

As the armored vehicles drove, they drove passed a few buildings that had been destroyed by Eris. The damage was being contained by the government as the person responsible was still being pursued.

Damien looked out the window at the damage. "What is going on here?" he demanded as the vans drove on.

"It seems there was a terrorist attack about thirty minutes ago. The last I heard, they had the terrorist surrounded." One of the soldiers replied, sounding surprised that Damien had not received word about it.

Damien began rubbing one of his temples. "What a day it's been" he groaned. Things were going so well, now this and the sabotage of the twins' experiment...

It was starting to give him a headache. He then wondered something. He called up Jian.

"Chief General Kimfeng's office." Jian asked, picking up his work phone as he sifted through more papers.

"It's me again" Damien said, "listen, did you get any report on the destruction of various buildings in this one area in the city?"

"Various destruction of buildings?" He asked with some alarm and thought for a moment. "I did hear something about a single crazed terrorist a minute or two after you left, but they didn't mention anything that bad. The response squad told me they had everything under control, and I haven't heard back from them in about ten minutes. No SOS or confirmation that the terrorist has been taken under custody." Jian replied. "Part of me wants to hope you're pulling my leg, but knowing you, how bad is the damage?"

"Pretty bad. This day is just getting worse. I wonder if it has any connection with the sabotage that injured the twins and many others" Damien said. "I suggest you order a report on the terrorism as soon as you can. I know the response squad probably wants to make sure they have things under control, but this is a serious issue. We don't know how many people have been injured or killed and how much this damage has cost."

"Yes sir. I will immediately. ... How are they?" Jian asked.

Jinx laughed as she ran down an alley that she knew she had set up earlier having recognized where she was. She leaped over the carefully concealed tripwire and continued running, hopping to get out of the alley before one of her lack wit pursuers set off the multitude of explosives rigged to blow.

"They're recovering. I asked Monica to take them in for a few days while I figure out how to get them to one of my villas. They're not fit for a helicopter and the drive would take a rather long time" Damien said.
