An electric type move? It was this kind of wildcard that gave trainers the necessary advantage to win their first gym match. Cress didn't know if Takamaru taught Iron Hide Shockwave just for the gym match or not, but he still had little way to prepare against it.

"Panpour, move out of the way!"

It was too late. Shock Wave was one of the fastest electrical attacks, to the point where it almost never missed it's target. Panpour was zapped as Iron Hide closed in, and faltered backwards in pain. Going off of the move's low power and Iron Hide Special Attack stat, it wasn't much in normal standards. But a super effective hit was still a super effective hit.

"Not bad, Takamaru! Dig!"

Panpour was still able to move though, and before Iron Hide could use Head Smash the monkey backflipped and dove into the ground. The hole it created with it's Dig attack closed up almost instantly, making it look like Panpour just dived into earth as if it was water.

Underground, it would track down Iron Hide from below and then pop up a few seconds later to deliver a powerful hit ti the underside of the Aron's belly. Cress knew that Scald took away the Aron's Sturdy, and now if this attack hit there was a good chance of getting a KO.

After Eunmi sat down at her table, the green haired waiter spun into position with a menu for the young trainer, placing it gently on her plate. "Welcome to the Striaton Gym, where the food is classy and so are the battles! My name is Cilan, and I'll be your waiter for today."

He motioned to the arena that Takamary was currently battling Cress in. The glass walls surrounding it kept the viewers safe, but also let them see inside. "I hope you have a good view of today's gym battles so you may have some entertainment with your meal. Also, I am required to point out that the gentleman at that table has offered to put your order on his bill."

Cilan ticked his head in the direction of David (oh I just got it, David and Goliath. Ahaaaa), who sat a few tables away with his clothed Machamp. He bent over so he could speak more quietly to her. "Ma'am, if you wish it so, I can give you both a private table." He wasn't sure about their prior relationship with each other, but if Cilan was allowed to speak his mind in front of the customers fully then he would have said that David looked a little too old for her.

Kali took the ember while her opponent took her wind. However, due to the ember, she did not release her brace, only made her hold it strong. Kali was a defense oriented pokemon; which meant she could take a few hits. Not mention this ghost type, had been around for awhile. But what was happening now was what Avan sought to accomplish. He saw it; black mist had begun to leak from Kali's hand after the ember attack. 

Avan heard what Robby commanded and knew it couldn't be good. He called for Kali to get out of the way. "Remember the blitzle! Twist and avoid it!"

Their earlier training against the electric type had provided this. In the closer quarters of the forest, the spirit pokemon had to learn to dodge. This translated to closer combat of Pokemon. 

Her opponents charge was the momentum she needed. Kali twisted her body out of the line of attack, her eyes never leaving her opponent, and ended up behind the Tepig as it erupted in it's flame attack. No where to run now. Already in the midst of an attack, dodging would be difficult for her opponent. "Ominous Wind!" Kali released the purple wind from behind her opponent, at Bacon. If it tried to jump the wind would follow. Move to the side? That's where the wind came from. Break the attack and stop, and take the attack. Keeping going and the wind would catch up eventually. After everything else the Tepig took, the wind could very well be the clencher.

((One last rule edit.

In the last RP it was more of a courtesy, "if someone has a special pokemon, don't have the same pokemon", we'll make it more of a rule here. Basically, you can claim one Pokemon as your character's 'main pokemon'. We expect you to give them plenty(see: a LOT) of development. Furthermore, this bars anyone from obtaining that Pokemon, no matter what. You may send in a PM when/if you've decided on this Pokemon but you must;
A. Have given this Pokemon prominent development.
B. Your character, obviously, needs to already have this Pokemon.))

"Well done, excellent use of the field! But we won't go down that easily! All of my faith rests on my beloved Panpour!"

Panpour wouldn't be able to attack through the boulder, so it would have to come up from another angle. Cress was wary of another Shockwave, but now that he knew Iron Hide had the move he was sure he had a counter.

"Go! Be ready to block the shocks, Panpour!"

The water monkey knew that Cress meant the electrical attack, and so when it rocketed out of the ground it also brought with it a torrent of mud. The Mud Sport attack Cress favored allowed him to nullify electrical attacks to make up for the Water type's weakness.

The sparks met the mud and were dispersed, allowing Panpour to fly towards Iron Hide atop the boulder for a full powered tacke using the power of Dig.

Meanwhile, Cilan was in a little bit of a bind.

Whenever a girl showed interest in him, they would usually fall over in a frozen stupor with hearts over their eyes. This one had skipped that phase entirely, opting to just outright flirt with him instead. It was unfamiliar. Cilan didn't know how to respond.

"Uhhhhh the customer is always right, but uh, the only way you get a free meal is if you, err, defeat one of the gym leaders. And I'm always on the clock here, soooo I can't really, uh, go on a date right now." Cilan rubbed the back of his head in frustration. As nice as Eunmi seemed, she just wasn't his type. He preferred a more exotic hair color.

Hmm, what do I say now?...I'll let her off easy.

Soooo what I'm trying to say is...our specials today are fresh onion soup and a Basculin roast made with finest spices," he told her happily, reciting the meals off of memory. "Oh, and there's a menu for pokemon meals if you are interested as well."

((Highlights? Ooooo let's see. I know you have doodles.))

Cilan took a pad of paper in order to take down Eunmi's order. As she waved her hand, his eyes darted to her hair. Was that some blue in there? It wasn't a lot but it was still something. His face was getting flushed with red. How do I take this? Is she joking? But the customer...the customer is always right...

"Let's see, one french onion soup. I'll go ask my brothers if they can come down and sit with you, but nothing weird, please." He tapped his pen to his lips for a moment as he peered at Dali and Da Vinci.

Cilan walked over to them and put his pad of paper onto the table. He coughed lightly to clear his throat, followed by calmy adjusting his bowtie. And after this was all over, he took a deep breath.

"TAAAASTING TIIIIIIIIMMEEEEE!!!!!!!"

Cilan could hear several thuds as women around him began to fall over into their food and onto the floor, petrified with lust on their eyes as they silently swooned over the green haired waiter. But Cilan paid them no mind as he pointed to Dali. "Your Oshawott will definitely enjoy our fresh caesar salad with a healthy sprinkling of our patented honey spices on top!"

His pointing panned over to the Smeargle. "And your little friend here will savor the sweet yet hot taste of our famous Striaton Gym chili, named after and cooked by my brother himself!"

Cilan then smiled to Eunmi. "Now, will your method of pay be pokedollars? Or would you care to battle for your meal's pay? Don't fret if your pokemon are hungry, the check comes after the food."

Takamaru took Cress's Praise to heart, but wasted no time responding.

'as well as all my faith sits with the skills of my Iron Hide' he thought as the action ensued

As Panpour erupted from the ground using mud sport the young trainer put two and two together and then, Not missing a beat, called out his next attackjust as the shock wave ended, "Iron Hide, Counter with a head on 'Head smash' " called the trainer as Aron Jumped into the attack, Panpours position given away early by the mud sport. the two pokemon where upon one another, Iron Hide's 'Head smash' was backed with his high attack stat along with the STAB qualities of using ones own move type Vs the neutral type tackle attack further boosted by the Water money's Momentum from the previous used move 'Dig'.

Unless Panpour was skilled in flying combat he should not be able to avert the head on collision, and just like aron, be carried into the collision by its momentum.

As the dust began to settle the young trainers lips broke into a wide smile upon seeing Iron Hide standing upright just in front of a fainted panpour, his tiny metal body covered with scoffs, scratches, some dents but the most prmonent injury was the crack in Aron's Helm from the previously used 'Rock Head' but all in all he was fine. Better than fine to be exact, he was... Victorious!

Takamaru looked over to cress with wide eyes wondering if he was in the clear to run out to his pokemon, not wanting to leave the trainer box early and ruin there victory....
