"Listen, maybe Daemon does mean no harm. He's still starting to crack though, and I'm still not about to welcome a demon like him to be my brother in law and I do intend to let mom and dad know about this." Kai told her, stopped just few feet from Van and Mala's home.

"They already know about her pregnancy, if that's what you're going to tell them about." Milly replied, folding her arms and raising an eyebrow at him.

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"I'm not that stupid; I mean him starting to...I dunno, re-demonize or whatever you want to call it. Maybe he has changed and maybe he really does love Larai. Bottom line is he might not stay that way, now more than ever."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"You know...this is the first time he's ever cared about anyone this much. Although I agree that he can't hide his instincts forever, I am sure he'll find an acceptable compromise between self-control and his inner nature." Milly replied after a moment of thought. "Plus, he'll be bound to the shadows if I see that he goes too far."

"Hey, more precautions the better." Kai said with a shrug. "More people in the know, faster we might snap him out of it."

"Or, more likely, you'll make him turn from all the stress. We have plenty of failsafes and ideas to keep things in proper doses. Not like you need to know everything, though."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Larai's had enough douchebags break her heart in the past. If I can't convince her the demon's bad news, I can at least make sure he stays good to her and she stays happy."

 

[M3Gnificent]

"That...I have nothing against. Just be wary of the consequences of your actions, that's all I'm saying."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Good. Now hopefully I don't have to keep coming back here out of paranoia; I'm a busy bandit!" Kai said knocking on his parents' door.

 

[M3Gnificent]

"You shouldn't have to. Instead, you should be coming back for the pleasure of seeing your family again."

 

[Zelly-fangirl]

"Eh, mom and dad might like that, but I'm not one for all that sappy family stuff. I see them enough to the point they know I'm alive and well, and that's enough for me." Kai said with a shrug.

"But then you never know when they're gone, for even gods can die. You'd regret not spending the time you could've with them while they were still alive."

"In a no-holds-barred smack down maybe, but we've taken care of the world's problem disbelief problem, and dad sure as hell isn't dying from old age any time soon. The only one with any beef with dad in this day and age is that jackass, Atius, and we haven't heard from that chucklehead since he tried that whole 'steal the world's magic' scheme!"
