"Mom's immortal too, and dad's always lookin' out for her. Larai's perfectly capable of taking care of herself too, she just keeps going after the wrong guys." Kai said shaking his head with a slight sigh.

"I said the same thing about my mom at first. She caught some magical plague and died the first time. Her corpse was so horrid that they had to burn it, lest the Earth be poisoned with ill magic. Then I had to live with my father regardless for the rest of my childhood."

((Is it wrong that that sounds like another possible plot twist to me? Mala catching a magical plague?))

"I repeat, dad's a god. Whatever happened to mom, I'm sure he could easily find a way to help her. Hell, she was in an accident as a kid and was told she'd never have kids. Look at the family now."

{I hadn't thought of that, and to be honest, I was probably going to handwave it as a sort of wizards' STD or something.}

Mala soon came to the door and answered it, a sleeping Anise resting in one arm. "Kai! Welcome back! I would give you a bug right now, but Anise..."

"Totally fine. By the way, thanks for letting me know I was going to be an uncle." Kai said rather sarcastically as he walked inside.

{AW ******** style="color: salmon">"Well, you didn't come by until just now, and we were only told after you left." Mala pointed out. "Needless to say, neither of us are very happy about it. Especially since my little baby girl's having a baby now. She's not supposed to have babies, she's supposed to be little and five years old forever." she then whined softly.

"Technically I'm getting over it. You just don't want our kids to grow up." Van said coming up behind Mala and giving her a kiss on the cheek as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"How's the egg?"

"Still an egg." Van said with a smile. "I don't know how long it'll be until it hatches, but I'm starting to get eager to know whether my kid's going to have legs or not." he said with a slight chuckle.

(Van: MALA!! WE HAVE LINES AGAIN!! 8D )

Mala: FINALLY! WE ARE NOT FORGOTTEN SIDE CHARACTERS ANY LONGER~}

"Can you really blaim me? They were sooooo cute when they were five." Mala pouted, lightly leaning her head against Van's shoulder.

{Maybe the egg should hatch soon?}

(Sure. I haven't been really up to deciding on egg-related matters lately anyway. D: )

"Mom. There's no one else here to reminisce to. Why do you keep doing this?" Kai said, managing to feel embarrassed when there was no one else around.

"I'm surprised she's still doing it too, really." Van teased. "She's already got another baby bundle to coo over, with another just waiting to hatch."

(Van: GLEE~ 8D *huggles in joy*)

"As sweet as our new babies are, they're not replacements. They're their own people too. Just as adorable, but that doesn't mean I'll ever stop missing baby Kai and Larai." Mala replied to Van and Kai with a small yet loving smile on her face.

"Erh, thanks....I think...." Kai said with a sweatdrop before shaking things off. "Look, I wish I was just here to yell at you for not telling me Larai was pregnant, but there's more. Daemon's instincts are starting to resurface."
