"You're right. I...I just..." Mala sighed. "Sorry. It's hard realising that they're not children anymore, and that they have problems to deal with daily just like we do."

((I forgot the most awesome thing about college art classes. The first day is always laughably short because you don't have all the supplies yet. XD ))

"We're a family of immortals where most of us are part god. We're magnets for trouble, but we're more than capable to get through it." Van assured her with a smile.

"If experience has proven anything, it's this." Mala admitted with a soft chuckle, despite the sorrowful look that lingered in her eyes. It seemed that this was as cheery as she'd get about the situation, though.

((Exactly. But after today, four days a week, for six weeks, I'll have something of 4 hour art classes of not Gaia. XP ))

"There you go." Van said with a smile. She still had that look in her eyes, but at least she was smiling.

"Well, at least Anise won't be growing up just yet..."

((At least the prof seems cool enough. I came in late and he complimented my (anime) hat. biggrin ))

"Or our other child. I'm sure our little egg will hatch any day now." Van said giving her a kiss on the cheek.

{That's always a bonus. biggrin It'd be hard to tolerate summer classes if the teacher was a d**k, wouldn't it?}

"Speaking of which, why don't we check on the little darling? Maybe we'll see some signs of hatching." Mala said in a hopeful tone.

"Sure." Van replied with a smile. "If we're lucky, there might be a few cracks by now."

Mala smiled back, now heading upstairs to check on the egg in it's little crib.

Van smiled softly, one arm around Mala's waist as he looked over the egg sitting in its nest of blankets. He still sometimes got those fuzzies thinking about how he was the one to bring it into the world for once.

Mala gently placed a hand atop the egg, to feel the throbbing and kicking that could sometimes be felt as the baby developed. She smiled a warm and loving smile.

((Improbable? In this RP? I scoff in the face of improbability! >XD ))

"How long has it been since either of us felt a baby kicking without actually having to give birth?" Van said as he moved a hand up along the side of the egg before coming to a rest on top of Mala's hand.

"If we weren't so busy with Anise alone, especially with this little one soon on the way, I'd say too long." Mala replied with a slight chuckle.

"I'm sure there's a spell out there if you miss it but don't want another kid right now." Van teased. "There's a spell for everything these days. At least during the magical prime of course."

"Maybe, but then I'd feel like I was teasing myself. It just wouldn't feel the same without it being the real deal."
