The Machine [Open/Accepting]

Shadow slipped into the building once again, making her way up to his office. She then gave a gentle knock on his door, pretending to be a soldier delivering a letter up to him.

"I am busy at the moment!" Damien called to the door, then returned to the phone. After he hung up, he called out "Name and reason for knocking."

Shadow ignored the request and walked right in. "Hey Damien!" She smiled in her boy soldier disguise, closing the door after she walked in. "I got the information you asked me about! I'm a little sad you haven't answered my text. Granted, you've been a busy boy haven't you?" She giggled, referring to what happened in Mt. Angelo.

The soldiers standing guard followed to grab Shadow. Barging in without permission was a huge deal.


Damien stood from his chair in anger when Shadow first entered. "How dare you just walk in without permission!" he bellowed. He then recognised the voice. "Oh. So that's how you play" he said.

"I'm sorry. I couldn't help it!" She laughed. "I've always wanted to do that for the sake of doing it, but I knew this would probably happen, so I never did." She said as the guard grabbed her. "Uh... do you mind?" She asked with a wink. "I'm trying to be cute so he doesn't give me the axe. Also, information..." She said, giving the guard her best puppy-dog eyes.

"... sir?" The guard said stoicly, awaiting orders as Shadow smiled at Damien.

Damien rolled his eyes. "Alright, return to your posts" Damien said, waving the back of his hand at the soldiers, dismissing them. Once the door was closed, he sat down at his desk again. "So what is it you want?" he asked calmly.

"I got the information on the twins." She replied. "The competition they were involved in was pretty big. It took me a while. The winners get world wide recognition and a huge prize of a million dollars. The twins, of course, were going to win. I looked at all the scores. They judge everyone's model before the demonstration, and the demonstration itself is only a small part of the judging. Even if they got no points during the judging, they would have still won the contest. Granted, I'm really not surprised." She stated, setting down the envelope. "There were two kids that were involved: one is a poor kid who probably was desperate, the other's a noble. They gave each other alibis, but I have more then enough proof to show otherwise."

"Really? Where did you find this info?" Damien asked, inquisitively.

"It wasn't that hard." Shadow shrugged. "There were no fingerprints and everyone had alibis, but there was no proof for half the alibis so things got messy. I was going through them and realized they weren't in the place they claimed to be, and there's camera evidence to prove it. I then did some background information on them. The poor kid did his research on the same dangerous chemicals that were used, and the noble's parents sent in a police report a month previous about a facility of theirs that was missing supplies. The amount was so minimal that the police dismissed the case as simple misplacement of common supplies. There's more, but I don't feel like boring you with the details."

"Ah. So how come you can find this, but not my forensics team?" Damien said, taking the envelope.

"I don't know." Shadow shrugged. "Why not ask your forensics team? Anyway, that's all I came for."

"Well, that was awfully gracious of you. Thank you. I'm sure the twins will be happy when we finally find who did this" Damien said.

Shadow whistled with surprise, her cheeks turning slightly pink. "Y-you're welcome." She replied. She was about to turn to leave when she suddenly stopped and turned back to Damien. "Oh, I almost forgot to ask. How are things going with the international news? They're still going crazy over Bishop Jerkface getting killed."

"Yes, I know. Of course we're being accused of it, but why would we want to draw attention to ourselves. I have a feeling that the Grand Priestess doesn't believe me, but I'm sure the whole ordeal will blow over eventually. The corrupt bishops are probably focused on fighting over who gets to take Bishop Gilles' place" Damien replied.

"Of course." She giggled. "Isn't that how it always goes. When he finally gets replaced, I'm sure things will calm down." Shadow replied, looking at him with a coy smirk as if she knew. "It must make you very giddy to know that he's gone though."
