The Machine [Open/Accepting]

"Well, I have to admit that I'm a bit relieved, since now he's not around to see his plans come to fruition. Of course, there's other bishops who want to do the same thing, so we'll have to keep an eye on them. These strange attacks in Diethelm aren't just by the resistance" Damien said.

"Don't be getting all paranoid on me now." Shadow retorted. "Still, I'm a little surprised that the economy is doing so well here despite all else. My stock keeps going up." She smiled. "... but in all seriousness, I know you. Are you planning to declare war overseas any time soon?" She asked him, turning and leaning on his desk as she gave him a mischievous smirk. "Or are you going to push them to declare war on you slowly so that it seems justifiable to everyone else?"

Like Damien would be telling Shadow his true plans. "Why would I want to do something like that? The battle with Helmshire was tiring enough. Why would I want the whole world at my door?" he replied. Besides, he was taking things slow, starting with establishing ties to dictatorships in small, poor countries, which he planned on using as puppet governments once he annexed their lands.

"More power. World domination. All that fun stuff." Shadow shrugged. "Well, I suppose I'll find out what you're planning eventually." She giggled, leaning against his desk.

"I suppose you will" Damien replied with a cheeky smile. "Is there anything else you wanted?"

Shadow blinked innocently as she looked at his smile. "Maybe." She replied, thinking he was implying that he might tell her something intresting, but being slightly hesitant in case he was implying something else.

Damien cocked his head slightly to one side. "So, was that letter all you were bringing me, or did you have anything else to show or say?" he asked.

"It was all that I had to bring you, but I do always enjoy our conversations." She replied. "Do I always have to have a reason to come and enjoy talking to you? Granted, you are a very important person." She replied. Turning and looking at him with a coy smirk.

((You're going to have to have Damien be a little more forward. Shadow's still a little bit 'captain oblivious'. Just a little.))

"Damien raised an eyebrow and stood up. "Are you flirting with me?" he asked, walking over to Shadow. "We could have another date, you know, since our last one was kind of ruined. Don't worry, though. The offender has been punished."

Shadow blushed, looking slightly dumbfounded before quickly regaining her bearing. "M-maybe." She said, giving a coy smile. She then quickly turned away as he grew closer. "A-another date huh..." She muttered, rubbing the bottom of her jaw. "What did you do to him?" She asked with curiosity, slowly turning back towards him.

"Nothing too drastic. Just docked his pay and put him under house arrest for a little bit. Plus he had to wash all your clothes and shine my shoes that he puked on. By the way, do you want your clothes back?" Damien asked.

"Yes, please. I didn't actually think he'd get them done this soon." Shadow replied, giving a slight breath of relief as she looked at him. She then leaned against the desk again. "So are they here or are they elsewhere?"

Damien unlocked a drawer that contained files, but also a plastic bag. He pulled it out and plopped it in front of Shadow. "Right here" he said. "I kept them, as I had a feeling you'd either find your way here, or I'd be meeting you somewhere. And of course, I was right."

"Yeah... We do have a habit of meeting up quite a bit, don't we?" She laughed. "But it's such a fun game we play."

"Indeed it is, you slippery snake. You're the one that keeps getting away. I have to say, it actually amuses me" Damien replied.
