The Machine [Open/Accepting]

Damien looked at the contents in the envelope. "Interesting. Very interesting indeed" he said.

"Yeah, this kid actually goes to the military academy and might actually know the twins. From what I understand, it's part humiliation for getting beaten by two younger 'nobodies' several years in a row. That and his parents cut him off because he was wasting too much money. Not only is most of his project plagiarized, but he also used his family resources to try to bribe the judges." Shadow stated. "Problem was that there was too much a gap between the twins and everyone else. The best the judges could do was give him 2nd place. But 2nd place doesn't come with a cash prize. So he sabotaged their project."

"You know, I had a feeling you were the perpetrator. You seemed awfully quick to accuse the other one here. The guilty often try to steer the focus away from them" Damien said to the noble boy.

"I... but-" He stuttered before turning to run to the door.

Immediately Shadow jumped over the chair and pounced the noble, restraining him.

"So, care to give a defense for your actions? If so, do it quickly. You're already on my bad side. Don't make it any worse for yourself" Damien said, walkiing over and staring down at the nobel, his military boots just a few inches away from the boy's face.

"I swear I'm innocent!" He yelled. "She's lying."

"Yeah, cause I haven't heard that a thousand times." Shadow replied, rolling her eyes. "And for some reason, only when someone gets caught."

Damien looked over the files he was given. "Well, can you explain all this?" Damien asked, holding a few papers in front of the boy's face, but not letting him touch them, just in case he tried to destroy the evidence.

"All forged." He replied. "I had an alibi."

"Which I confirmed to be false already." She replied with a sigh.

"Liar!"

Damien began rubbing his forehead with a white gloved hand. "This is getting nowhere," he sighed. "I guess I'm going to have to call a friend of mine to help get to the bottom of this."

The Absolute Leader walked over to his desk and picked up his office phone. He then dialed a number. After waiting for a moment while it went through, Damien finally spoke to who was on the other end. "Hello, Ms. Ravenstone. I hope you're not busy at the moment. We're having a little bit of a problem here in my office and if you could pop down for a moment to help sort some things out, that would be great. See you in a bit" he said, then hung up.

"Yes sir." Monica replied, hanging up the phone and going upstairs. She noticed the guard holding the sodas and pizza and said nothing as she knocked on the door. "Sir, it's me."

Shadow sighed as she looked away. "You do realize we get along as well as water and oil, right?"

"Just keep him restrained and don't say anything then" Damien said, then opened the door. "Ah, good. You're here. We think we found who caused the science presentation accident that injured and killed a bunch of people, but the perpetrator seems to be resisting. We may need your 'special touch'" the Absolute Leader stated.

"Fine..." Shadow muttered.

"Alright." Monica stated. "In that case, let me see him. He shall be dealt with immediately."

"Alright. Come on in. We currently have him pinned to the floor so that he can't escape," Damien said. He turned to Shadow and quietly whispered "just keep your head down." Damien then let Monica into his office.

Shadow nodded to him before keeping her head at an angle that Monica couldn't see her face.

Monica pulled out a needle from her belt pouch and removed the sterilization cover over the tip. "W-what is that!?" The noble demanded.

"Just relax." Monica smiled cruely as she injected it into his neck. After a moment of struggling, the noble went limp and Shadow let go of him. Monica grabbed the noble by the collar and began to drag him. "Permission to leave?" She asked.

"Yes. Once you have the information, make sure you report it directly to me" Damien ordered, then allowed Monica to leave with the unconscious boy.
