Cilan chuckled at Eunmi's rookie question. "No no, of course not. For future reference, your pokedex will be allowed to be used in any and all league matches. The pokedex is one of the trainer's most valuable tools. I hope you learn to use it well."

The green haired waiter walked over to his trainer box, and a pokeball flew up from a chute embedded into the ground. "I'll warn you now, I am the strongest of the Striaton triplets. You are in for a tough battle, Eunmi!"

He threw his pokeball into the air, and out came a shiny Pansage. It's lime green fur sparkled upon release, and it waved happily to Emi and Dali as it trotted onto the battlefield. "Whenever you are ready, the first move is yours."

Eunmi's pokedex beeped as it recognized the Pansage.

This Pokémon dwells deep in the forest. Eating a leaf from its head whisks weariness away as if by magic. It shares the leaf on its head with weary-looking Pokémon. These leaves are known to relieve stress.

The Pokédex also read that the Pokémon was a Grass-type. She knew now that Dali was a Water-type, which meant...

"Er," Eunmi shifted, raising her hand to her forehead. The terrain was all ground, which wasn't helpful for Dali who didn't move extremely fast on his feet. She knew he could dodge well enough, but water would be better. But using water attacks would only help a Grass-type right? She didn't know what sorts of things Grass Pokémon did.

Eunmi took a deep breath and exhaled sharply as she said, "Fine.

"I get it." The challenge was designed to test her knowledge of type advantages and weaknesses. She wasn't that stupid to not have heard of them before even if she didn't care about Pokémon battling. She did graduate High School after all.

"Dali, you have to be minimalistic when you use your Water attacks," she advised. "But the way Piet Mondrian used paint - tactfully and always with good design. Not like Malevich. Blegh."

Oshawott looked up at her in confusion, but Da Vinci, who was still at Eunmi's side, simply nodded his head in agreement. Eunmi snapped her fingers and pointed at the Pansage.

"Tackle," she commanded. She knew it wasn't Dali's best attack, but they needed to cover distance before she could get him to use his other attacks.

Cilan closed his eyes and smirked, pointing to Pansage while doing so. "Pansage, dodge it," he ordered confidentally.

His monkey waited until Oshawott got closer before sidestepping the Tackle with a laugh. It causally clasped it's hands behind it's head, clearly not being serious as Oshawott ran right past it.

"Pansage, Bullet Seed!"

The green monkey jumped back to gain a little more distance and then inhaled a deep breath. Just like Chen Zhen had done the day before to Dali, Pansage opened it's mouth and fired a rapid spray of seeds at the Oshawott.

((So Cilan just did this. But in an RP this time))

((I have a feeling this battle is going to go down very similarly to Ash VS Cilan.))

Dali stumbled passed Pansage, but Eunmi expected as much. As Pansage was inhaled to use Bullet Seed, Eunmi called out to Dali.

"Shield," she meant as 'block'. Dali had been using his shell in both attack and defense, and luckily Dali had a better reaction time than she expected. The seeds pelted at the Water-type like bullets, but ricocheted off Dali's shell.

"Force it back," Eunmi said, gesturing with her hands to tilt the shell to deflect the bullets back towards the Pansage. Even though it would be too hard for Dali to get the bullets to hit the Pansage directly, directing the bullets back towards the ground at its feet wasn't too difficult once Dali directed the shell into the appropriate angle.

"When you get an opening, slash it," she said, cutting the air with her hand to gesture for Dali to use Razor Shell.

Henrietta had, with time, limped her way back to the Pokemon center. Currently, she sat in the lobby while her Pokemon were healed. The four of them had taken a large amount of injuries since everything had begun and Henrietta was still starving. Her stomach growled and she leaned, her arms curled around her stomach.

But! She'd gotten so much training in and a new Pokemon! She'd learned more about Socant, too. Still, it was Melty she was primarily trying to train for her gym match. Once he was strong enough she'd planned to rechallenge the gym. Sadly, he'd yet to display any new moves.

"Henrietta, please come to the desk," came the voice of a nurse and Henrietta approached.

Now, while nurses are meant to be relatively happy, something about the body language of this one seemed angry. Though it was hard to read. Henrietta looked at the nurse, saw the nametag for Joy and then took her Pokemon back.

"Anymore?" came a nurse's voice from the doorway.

"Nope. Thanks kid, have a nice day," the nurse said and she retreated into the doorway.

As Henrietta left she heard something about some punk kid, a grass pokemon, sleeping and stupid policies about everyone going by 'nurse joy' to build a more positive community.

And as she turned, curious, on her way out she could've sworn she saw a pink wad of hair being thrown across the room.

Purrloin would continue to wander the city seeing what mischief she would get into she already took some food sitting on a window seal, ran off with someones hanging laundry and hide them within the city. She had made quite a list of deeds but now she was bored again and it was just as she started to move towards the Pokemon center when someone walked out, she got a small grin and then walked over towards the human. As the Purrloin draws closer it would let out a soft noise as she moves up towards Henrietta.

As Henrietta exited the Pokemon Center she'd spot the approaching Purrloin. She took a step back, onto her bad leg and winced. A wild Pokemon?

Her left hand fell on Melty's ball and her right made a shooing motion accompanied by "shoo, shoo!"

"Yeah," Wayne said, squaring up a notch when he was addressed. Something about N sturred a primal urge to assert his dominance as the alpha male of the situation. It struck Wayne as odd; N seemed like the sickly nerd type, what with the pasty skin and weird cubes. On the other hand, something about him reminded Wayne of a film star. Or a guy from a shōjo manga. Yeah. He definitely seemed big on his own importance.

"Does that mean the 'bond I share with my pokémon' isn't interesting to you? I'm gonna win that rematch," he grinned, pumping his fist, "I've already got a plan. Seriously though. If you wanna meet winning trainers, why are you waiting out here? It'd make more sense to stand inside and watch instead of asking every passerby if they'd won a gym battle."

Wouldn't it? It made more sense to him.

"Sage?" the Pansage questioned when the seeds were shot back at it. With fancy footwork, it dodged it's own attack like someone dodging shots of a revolvers in a western. It began to progress forwards, flipping and rolling out of the way of the Bullet Seeds as it made his way to Dali.

"Impressive use of your Oshawott's Shell Blade. Let's see you keep it up. Pansage, charge up your Solarbeam attack!"

The grass monkey skidded to a halt before getting too close to Dali and rose it's hands above it's head, gathering light energy that refracted off of the glass arena. It sparkled overhead, and would soon be ready to fire.

Solarbeam was one of CIlan's most used moves. He and his Pansage practiced it enough that they had managed to shave off a lot of the charge up time. If Eunmi was expecting them to take a longer time to strike again, she would be mistaken. Within the next few seconds, Pansage would fire a beam of light from is palms straight at the otter pokemon.

Salieri noticed Wayne's subtle change in presentation. Was he trying not to lose face in front of N because he had already lost? Or was he trying to assert himself for some sort of competitive purpose?

"I don't have to ask if they've beaten the gym. You can see it clearly when they exit," N answered without missing a beat or shifting his gaze. "Their battle is not what interests me. Only their ways as a pokemon trainer."

Truth be told, he hated watching pokemon battles. Barbaric actions of force that proved why humans were irresponsible? There was no sense in viewing these atrocities. A natural pokemon battle occured on the pokemon's own accord, and not because of the fighting spirit of some naive child.

So he had waited for any of the trainers on his list to emerge from the gym. The pattern to find the winners was simple to spot. Those who defeated the gym would come out in high spirits. It was the first gym traditionally challenged by trainers in Unova, after all. A win here was a huge victory. It was usually clear on the trainer's face whether or not they had won.

Ha! The predictability of humans. They were the constant variable in his formulas, never changing their ways for anybody. People were easy to read because they never tried to be different.

"If your bond has sufficiently developed with your pokemon, then you will defeat the gym leader. Those who cannot become real friends with their pokemon will not develop true power," N continued to explain. He made no direct mention if Wayne's bond with his pokemon interested him or not. It did. But he wasn't going to let Wayne know that unless he won.

“I think that Wayne’s got what it takes to win,” Salieri chimed in as she gave Wayne a pat on the back. “I’m gonna go train him. Cause, you know. I beat the first gym.”
“Yes. I already know this.”
“Oh.” Salieri became flushed with embarrassment. “Right.” Crap, he just told me that, didn’t he? Change the subject, change the subject.

“Wayne! N is the guy I was telling you about before. He can talk to pokemon!”

The corner of N’s mouth twitched. Did she have to yell it so loudly? He had learned yesterday that talking to and understanding pokemon was an oddity, practically fiction to the common people. And he really didn’t want the attention drawn to himself. “Um, can you please be a little quieter about that?” he asked her while looking at her feet and tipping down his trucker hat. “I don’t want the whole world knowing that.”

“Sorry, sorry!” Salieri apologized profusely, waving her hands in front of her. “I just…well, I was wondering if you could help me out.” She showed him Eevee’s pokeball. “My Eevee was battling before and quit as soon as she got hit by an attack. And I don’t know why. Can you please talk to her for me? I want to make sure she’s okay.”

N stared at the pokeball for a few seconds longer with his arms folded across his chest before coming to a decision. “…very well. I’ll meet your Eevee.”

Salieri smiled. Success. “C’mon out, Salem.” The brown pokemon came out and yawned, shaking her fur to wake up. Taking in her surroundings, she saw Salieri and immediately looked away. Salieri frowned at her pokemon’s behavior while N knelt down next to the Eevee. His demeanor changed dramatically, from being awkward and shy to a much kinder and happier N.

“Hello, my name is N.”
Salem’s tail wagged happily. [Hi, N! My name is Salem!]
“Oh, Salem? What a pretty name.”
The Eevee’s eyes widened. He could understand her? That was so cool![Thanks! Salieri gave it to me.]
“I see…Salem, Salieri told me that you quit a battle when you got hurt. She’s worried that something is wrong. Can you let me know what happened?”

Salem looked at the ground and shuffled her front paws. […I got hit, and it hurt, and I didn’t know what to do. So I stopped fighting.]
“That’s all? Getting hurt is part of fighting. If you want something you have to take risks.”
Salem pouted. [But it’s hard!]
“Salem, do you like battling?” N asked.
[Yeah. It’s a lot of fun to battle with Salieri!]
“Then you have to be willing to take what you give out.”
[…I guess,] she muttered reluctantly, like a child wanting to easily escape a parent’s lecture.

As N and Salem chatted, Salieri bumped Wayne’s side with her elbow. “What did I tell you? Isn’t he amazing?”

"Or a complete nutjob," Wayne grumbled quietly, folding his arms and looking away. Maybe if he had some weird trick like that... Well. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he did want to see if N could tell him what was up with Hitmonlee.

He watched the black and white clothed trainer chat with the pokémon from the corner of his eye.

No, he could find that out on his own. After all, he was Hitmonlee's trainer. That was his job; he wasn't gonna take a shortcut, not while he still had that responsibility.

"We should probably get going to training," Wayne hesitated for a second then added, "You coming along, N?"

((Alright so my previous post didn't go through neutral Too lazy to do it all over again. UGH. Gaia just had to go "Bad Cookie" on me.))

[Location: Striaton City]

The trip to the Dreamyard was very eventful indeed. As he returned to the city, Winterson decided to head towards the Pokemon Center first. After all, both Natalie and Catherine, his newly caught Purrloin, as well as Alexandra, need a bit of healing. The doors opened, and as usual, he would leave the Pokeballs with Nurse Joy for a moment.

"Thank you, Nurse Joy," he told her. "I'll be waiting right over here," he pointed towards the couch just right by the counter. The lad turned around, and took a seat, with Prince simply curling up like a cat right beside him. Winterson looked at his Pokemon. His hand reached out to scratch behind his ear. His Glaceon seemed to appreciate that alot as it cooed.

"Well, today wasn't so bad, now, was it?" he said, and his Pokemon purred. It seemed to agree with him.

((Yeah...))

"Water Gun," Eunmi said to Dali as Cilan commanded his Pokémon to use Solarbeam. She didn't know what that attack was, but knowing enough about plants and sunlight, she had guessed that it would be strong. Dali blasted a jet stream of water at the Pansage; they had worked on it a lot in the past day, and Dali had managed to control it a lot better now. The stream of water would be quick enough to close in its distance as the grass monkey rose its hands above its head to collect sunlight.

"Switch to attack," she said, and Dali would lunge forward, slashing out with its blade of a shell. Instead of a blue pulse of light gathering out of the tip of the shell, a wave of light green followed along with the blade. Eunmi looked to her Pokédex for an answer.

Fury Cutter. A bug-type move that involves a slashing motion. Consecutive hits increase this attacks power.

"Bug-type?" Eunmi murmured.

"its very nice to meet you, I'm Takamaru Takashi, and these are me pokemon..." he trailed off remembering how hurt his Iron Hide was upon taking out his pokeballs to introduce his team.
"Ah! what am i doing! i gotta get to the pokemon center" he finished putting his pokeballs back away as he sprinted towards the restaurant door.
"It was nice meeting you Dave, you too Goliath" he yelled as he sprinted (while waving) out the doors and was greeted by a blast of sunlight.

After leaving the gym he almost immediately ran into Wayne, a female whom he took to be a pokemon a pokemon trainer and a rather strange looking Greed haired boy. Takamaru stopped in front of Wayne but continued to jog in place, "hey Wayne, whats going on?" he asked motioning to the two other people with him.
