*as Ed goes back down-stairs, Hera following him, the doctor stops cleaning the station*
Doctor: You gave me quite a scare, old friend. I actually thought you might die.
*Daraith slowly opens his eye*
Daraith: so did I. the recoil has never been this bad.
Doctor: well the recoil is only half the story. that crack in the stone also worries me greatly.
Daraith: it's old and worn. after so many uses it's to be expected.
Doctor: well, i'm no geologist, but that doesn't seem to be the reason. the amount of energy that you expended back there was more than you usually use. I've never seen you lose control of yourself like that, and I wouldn't suggest it.
*Daraith laughed weakly, coughing a little*
Daraith: well, i think you should get going and checking on your other patients, doctor.
Doctor: as I should. but Daraith, you do know what will happen if it really breaks, don't you?
*a silence falls over the room*
Daraith: i'll need my rest, Ivan. a lot of rest.
*the doctor sighs and leaves the room*
Doctor: So you shall.
