You can hide it for good in account->preferences->Footer Display in the general settings area.

I think that's a fantastic idea. We'd probably have to hold a contest for a certain length of time and treat is similar to what Bandaidd did for the Kill This Thread thread. People getting nominated and then a vote.

Brat will need to help me set up a pole or point me to where I can find explicit directions.
