As the outer black layer of the stone fell away, there was a brief flash of blue light from within before it too crumbled into sand. Forming the sword went effortlessly and without harm, but when the blade was finished, veins of a faintly glowing substance created a spiderweb across its surface. For the moment, it did nothing but pulsate dimly, and continued to do nothing as it was sheathed.

Rin saw how the jounin, who she now knew to be the Raikages adviser and apparently made a wonderful Santa, was indeed having trouble breathing and would try to keep the temperature as heated as possible. Soon enough that annoying ringing that was close to making her severely angry stopped. She looked around eyes shifting to the windows confused, what had stopped that horrid sound, what had made it to begin with? That didn't matter now what mattered was keeping themselves warm and alive. Once the ringing did stop she was feeling a bit better, definitely less freezing but still cold. "We should probably find some place a lot warmer than here, I dont know where anyone else is, and maybe walking around well find Axel on our way out. We should probably head to the hospital or dojo. Hospitals a better bet thought, if we're having trouble we can get some help there...I hope." shed comment with a grim expression, the cold wasnt good and if she was this cold at home just how bad was it everywhere else? Then she heard it, it was a scream, similar to the one from what she assumed was the creature, and then even worse, a faint response. "That's not a good sound..." she would comment to the giant Wanryoku. This was definitely a situation they needed to handle once they were feeling warmer and had at least one other person with them.

TAxel sighed as he plowed through the ever increasing snow until it did nothing more than annoy him. The boy turned his head to both sides but could hardly see anything as the wind picked up and began to roar ever stronger… “At this rate…” He stopped to think, extending his left hand to let a couple of snowflakes fall into his bare hand before the heat of his body made them melt, but the water was so cold it was rather uncomfortable. He looked around him once more and saw a rather tall building to his left. He walked over to it and entered the structure to hide from the elements if only briefly. Part of him wanted to keep walking, he didn’t understand where this increased carelessness had come from, he didn’t like it, but he did like how it made him so task oriented, he didn’t care about much, only of getting to the source of the screech. Regardless of that, he found himself inside the structure, an apartment building. He lingered in the lobby for a little bit before feeling the urge to keep moving.

The Chunin looked around, he saw that there was a vending machine in the far corner of the lobby. He made his way to it and pulled out a single Ryo. Axel stuck it into the machine and waited as it made loud sounds and springs pushed it down. He entered his hand into the bottom of the machine and pulled a bag of salty chips called Kumo-Os. The redhead looked upon them with a certain disdain, how did they make these things? He had never really tried them before. He pulled a small, creamish-gold crescent chip that was bathed in salt. He sniffed at it, but it smelled like nothing, and when he eat it, it sucked all the moisture out of his mouth. He absolutely hated the taste, but he wasn’t going to use another Ryo to get something else. Reluctantly, Axel finished the bag of nasty salty chips and turned to another vending machine, from which he bought a simple bottle of water, tagged ‘Misty Stream Water, a product of Kirigakure’. He spun the cap and took two long sips before setting the bottle at a table nearby. He remembered he hadn’t eaten since the entire thing stated. Actually, he hadn’t eaten anything since he went to chop wood at the Storm Mountains, close to his home. His home… For a brief moment, Axel wondered if they were fine. Under any other circumstance he would have rushed there to see if they were fine, but right now, the only thing he wanted to do was go find the source of the roar…

Silence, stone cold silence, before the calm was snapped by the release of a threatening roar. Despite the distance Wanryoku knew the sounds, the intonations, what meant anger, rage, and loss. Sitting up slowly, letting the blanket fall, he felt his reserves cease to leak, and he knew that Axel must have done something. Wherever the kid was he was owed a drink. Grunting, it might well appear that he was ignoring Rin's words in order to rise to his feet, his limbs still quivering despite the heavy skins covering him. Except, it was followed by spoken word, just a moment after the rattling of the shutters announced the return of the storm. "I take to hospital, but I go for storm's calmest place. There I find more." Despite his apparent surety, Wanryoku's mind was clouded, his thoughts a jumbled mess with the agony in his stomach nearly buckling him.
-----Shaking his head vigorously, the giant fought through the haze enough to lift one foot and launch it through the ice door, allowing the cold in. Turning, he reached back for her, eyes slightly glazed but intent clear. "Come. I carry you there, then go find monster."

Was he ignoring her? She felt he might've for a moment but soon would shake it off as the giant man responded and offered to carry her to the hospital. "Are you sure? You should stay if we head to the hospital. But if you're going to go after that monster or monsters, I'm going with you." She'd tell the giant determined to stick together, these creatures were definitely not to be taken lightly, and with the terrible weather it was best to stick together in case something might happen. "We should try and find Axel on our way there." she'd remind the giant man that they were still missing one person in their now odd group of survivors. She wondered if anyone else in the village might've been around but it seemed unlikely they would find more people in the residential district so their best bet was to look elsewhere.

With food and drink out of the way, he looked around the lobby one last time and decided that he should take the stairs to make his way to the roof of the apartment building. It wasn’t that high, just four or five stories from what he could judge when he got there in the first place. He took his time walking up them to conserve the energy he had gotten from the little meal he had eaten, if eating a bag of overly salty chips and an overpriced water bottle could be considered a meal. Axel slammed open a door and could hear the howling of the wind, and saw the snow falling all around him. The wind pushed him back a little, this high up the wind was stronger than it was on the ground, which made it hard for him to move at times, but even that would not dissuade him from going to the very edge and looking around to see if he could find the creature that had roared when he slayed the first.

Toso's vision was cloudy, he left the Raikage's tower because he wanted answers. He wanted to know what exactly it was that was causing all this abnormal weather. His outfit held firm through the biting cold as his glasses spared him the shearing winds beatings on his eyelids. He figured he should head to Academy first but he needed a breather. Shunsin in such weather was quite the task, especially when stacked with layers upon layers of clothing. He wondered if Miko or Honsho chose to follow him, he hoped not, as neither he believed were properly equipped for the weather. Toso momentarily panting stood atop what seemed to be an apartment building. His image blurred by the wind and snow. It would happen to be an apartment complex directly opposite of the Red haired boys...perhaps his shadow would also be within eye shot of Wan and his accomplice.
Toso seemed apt for pushing himself but, really all he was currently doing was making himself a sitting duck. His guard was far from up seeing as currently he felt the only threat was the storm. He began having second thoughts. It wasn't really the chivalrous thing to do just to abandon those two girls...perhaps he should turn back. This thought plagued the squid boy as he continued his heavy breathing to recover from his Shunsin. No...Miko was more than capable of handling herself he believed. He wondered is she'd have scolded him for this reckless action. It mattered not. Toso would find that man who mentioned the Academy. As for some reason he had his suspicions about him.

Visibility low through the heavy snow, the vantage point on top of the building provided little to no help. Or, at least, it would have, if not for the storm just suddenly... stopping. It didn't slow to a halt, but abruptly ended where Axel was standing. Five or so feet in front of him, the snow fell normally, almost like a hole had opened in the heavens above him. But he was barely given time to process this before another shriek sounded incredibly close by, and it was followed by a collection of screams from the streets to the south of where he stood. Should he move to that side of the building, he would see, down below, another one of the icy creatures moving leisurely after a fleeing group of people a moment before it dissipated into mist, suddenly moving much quicker. The cloud of fog wrapped around the civilians and they slowed to a halt as if suddenly not having the energy to run. And, likely to Axel's horror were it not for the apathy, they began to freeze solid.

Standing on the building adjacent to Axel's Toso would receive a very similar sight. Although he still stood amidst the storm unlike the red-haired chuunin, he could see where it ended abruptly several yards in front of him.

Axel hadn’t noticed much of what happened, it would have all gone unnoticed really had it not been for the roar. He turned and ran to the opposite side where he saw the roaring blizzard had stopped. The Chunin peeked his head off the side of the building and saw the Ice Creature walking after some people. He judged where it was moving and followed it with his eyes. He maintained the blade in its sheath, but ran chakra through it, preparing it for the scabbard. Without turning his back to the edge, Axel gave ten steps back and broke into a frantic run. With his legs he pushed against the edge and unsheathed the weapon, letting his chakra flow through it to create a scabbard of black chakra that covered the blade. As he fell through the air, he closed his eyes and brought the sword above his head, once he was close enough he brought it down, beginning at the creature’s shoulder, just like the last one, slashing across the thing’s body, but this time the technique wasn’t the same, the chakra was outside the blade with the scabbard, not on the inside as was with Hachiware, this was the Ryutsuisen, The Dragon Hammer Strike. Whether the attack had hit or not, Axel would be kneeling right behind it, with his chakra scabbard’d sword poised to strike, and strike he did. The red head Chunin filled his weapon with chakra once more and did two swift strikes at the base of the creature’s leg, hopefully slicing it down if the first attack was not enough to kill it, something which Axel doubted.

Ryūtsuisen [ Dragon Hammer Strike ]: The "Dragon Hammer" is a sword-drop technique delivered from above, targeting the crown of the head or the shoulder of the adversary. The key to the technique lays in the momentum gained from the user’s jump and the free-fall, which is applied to the sword to multiply the force of the sword-stroke.
Turning Swallow Cut: Utilizing chakra to stimulate the nervous system, this cut is reputedly so quick and precise that it can strike down a bird in mid-flight. It is a downward strike the flicked back up into an upward strike, both strong enough to effortlessly slice through even the hardest wood.

No, the monsters had to die, and if that meant she would need to go with him then so be it. Grunting, he nodded and reached out to her, crouching carefully to taker her into his arms. Twisting, he placed the woman on his shoulders and moved for the hole he had made, moving out into the snow-clogged exterior with his vision still on the blurry side. There was no time to argue, none to fight, so instead he moved for the next best thing: Zangai. The call of his brother was strong, and served as a beacon in the otherwise opaque wall of snow before him. Thus when he reached out and found the chain, the giant hauled on its as hard as he could. A moment later Wanryoku's body vibrated slightly at the impact the giant ball of steel made when it smashed into his grip. No grunts, no concerns, he took the weapon by the steel ring melted into its surface and moved forward.
-----As they moved through the storm wracked village Wanryoku held his free hand up to stop as much of the wind as he could from Rin's face, his only real option given the enormous quantity of frozen water that bombarded him. Yet he knew that if they walked far enough he would find what he looked for. Vision was mostly pointless, and so he directed everything he could to paying attention to his senses, well aware that any step could bring them face to face with the creature. As he did so, he unleashed one, single cry, hoping to startle something into moving. "Axel!"

Madness? No...answers. Toso would watch as the patch of storm just mere yards away from him vanished. Immediately he took this opportunity to close the distance to firmly plant himself in the area of brief respite. However his thrusting forward of his arms and bringing them back in was also graced with the sounds on unholy shrieks nearby. In tandem as if a twist of fate Toso arrived when Axel jumped making his presence still unknown to the Squid boy. Toso in turn would do exactly as Axel did, almost as if they were creepily tied by fate. Toso looked down to see a descending blur. He would then look up and smile softly to himself, as he inhaled then exhaled in a fast downward shot of ink striking Axel...but there was no 'impact'...in fact to Axel it would would feel like a nice breeze just struck his back. What he would not be aware of is now a fluctuating rampant aura of chakra would coat him and in his strike his muscles,body and mind would seem much sharper, and more profound than usual following through with his attack.
Toso would then draw his two brushes. One in the left hand and one in the right. The one in his left was already imbued with the gift of water but the one in his right he'd tap rhythmically as wind began to circulate around it's hairs. Toso would await until he heard the sounds of Axel's blade either connecting with the creature or the ground. When it did, Toso would leap into the air and begin a downward spiral toward the creature if it remained standing. "Mind if I cut in Bloop?!" Toso's arms would extend as necessary, a normal human's arms would no doubt have found difficulty in covering the entirety of the beast but this was trivial to the squid. Toso had swung both his brushes in a X formation. To compliment Axel's downward vertical swing. If these hits connected the beast would not have just been Bisected by Axel but instead Cut into six separate pieces. Toso would prioritize the formation centered on the beasts mid section. The wind and water chakra from the brushes acting like the blades of two swords. Toso would land just opposite of Axel whether this maneuver of his was successful or not and give him a friendly smile.

Axel's strike would have struck home, if it weren't for one thing: the creature had turned to mist a moment before to freeze its victims, so the blade cut harmlessly through air. However, the moment the red-headed chuunin reached the bottom of his swung, the sword glowed with a bright blue light and a blast of pressure shot out from the blade, blowing fog away and the people off their feet. Even the snow was forced away, leaving a good indent in the ankle deep substance.
Likewise, Toso's attack hit only mist, although it lacked the sudden wave of force. In fact, it was entirely likely the squid boy was blown off of his feet as well.
The scattered mist quickly came back together some ten or so yards away from them, and then condensed, reforming into an icy creature similar to the one Axel fought before. To Toso, however, it was a new sight. A slender, crystalline figure wreathed in fog, the thing stood closer to eleven feet tall, a bit bigger than the previous one, with long, blade-like arms and hind legs built similar to a cat's. Its face bore no features, but in the center of its chest sat an orb of dark stone about the size of a fist. A defensive growl rumbled through its chest quickly rising in pitch until it leaned forward and let out an ear-shattering shriek, loud enough for Wanryoku and Rin not far off to hear even through the howling wind.
[Except I flipped tails for Axel and Toso so you're safe... for now. The other two were unaffected from that distance.]

What the ******** just happened. Axel stared at the sword, which had just flashed blue. He noticed the blue veins popping though it. That wasn’t there before, and he explicitly remembered that his sword didn’t do that before, neither did he know how do it, that was also something important for him to know. *“This is obviously new.” He continued staring at the sword, he wasn’t paying attention to anything else, it was just him, and his red hair flowing with the wind, eyes locked into the flashing sword. That was most definitely new. The red head looked forward and saw an indentation in the snow. Had he just released a blast? Or maybe that was Toso? He had never fought with the squid man before, so that was maybe his doing. There was something Axel was sure of though, and that was that it wasn’t his doing. But regardless… Why was the snowless spot right in front of him? Why where only the people near him blown away? Something here wasn’t adding up. It took the creature’s roar to snap Axel back into the fight. Inexplicably, the boy grinned at the roaring monster. “Toso.” He declared without looking at his partner, Axel wasn’t even sure if the guy hadn’t been blown away himself by the strange force. “You go left, I take the right.” Axel’s grin grew stronger as he sheathed his weapon and broke into a trot straight at the creature. “Weaken the chest. I can turn its core into Iron Sand, once we take out the core the creature dies, if one can even say its alive.” He yelled at Toso as he ran. His goal was to kill this thing before it had the power to wound anyone else, and so he would. He thought of performing an Iaido on this thing, but as he got closer, he decided against it, it would not result that useful to perform such a technique on this thing, regardless of how many times he cut at it, it would just regenerate, instead, he would do his best to incapacitate it, as well as cut into its chest as hard as he could to destroy it. Once he was close enough, the young Chunin brought out his blade. Axel took a step to the center and lowered his body, with his right hand he gripped the sword as hard as he could and prepared himself to strike. The redhead brought the blade up as hard as he could, hopefully delivering a powerful slash toward the center mass of the monster. The redhead wasn’t done there. He pulled the blade down and charged it with his chakra just as he had done before and delivered two swift and powerful slashes at the center mass of the Ice Monstrosity. He retreated his sword to his hip, but threw his weapon’s sheathe to the side. It landed about five feet away from Axel. He had something in mind, but he hoped Toso would do something so he wouldn’t need to destroy his weapon’s sheathe to live.

Turning Swallow Cut: Utilizing chakra to stimulate the nervous system, this cut is reputedly so quick and precise that it can strike down a bird in mid-flight. It is a downward strike the flicked back up into an upward strike, both strong enough to effortlessly slice through even the hardest wood.

"A little warning would have been nice Bloop." Toso would say having been hurled a few feet of the ground executing an aerial recovery by wrapping his arm around a lamp post and planting his feet firm on it's side so he was leaning horizontal of it. "I suppose I'll have to listen to you, you are the chunin after all bloop bloop bloop" Toso spoke with his eyes sharpened into slants. The creature wasn't so much terrifying as it was unnatural. Apparently Axel had fought one of these creatures before. So it was confirmed, these were the things that had been causing such distressing situations at the office. Given his order Toso's brushes began producing thick inky gloops on their heads. Still imbued with the Chakra he had channelled the one free hand whipped out. It would normally require a person to get much closer but Toso had the benefit that was the thirty foot radius of his arms.
The ink on the Fuuton brushes head would burst with added wind and scatter outward as if a hail of ink bullets. All centered on the beast's torso in a fusillade to break through the icy carapace to expose whatever this thing was that Axel was talking about. After the attack Toso would unravel his arm from the post and land a few feet from the monster effectively placing it in the middle of the two Shinobi taking a firm grounded stance. Toso sought answers and he was getting them...but his body...it would soon succumb to his reckless actions if this bout were to take any longer.
De-Buffs: →Second Wind: Chakra and Stamina Pools Reduced By 1/4 of Maximum values to the nearest 5th from the fatigued self imposed de-buff is nullified for 10 posts 4/10.

These techniques maintain the same description and criteria to use, as well as require the same amount of time to mold the chakra through the weapon as would be needed to perform hand seals, meaning the techniques are not instantaneously cast.
