((It would work how the move works in game, but Purrloin has no allies to use Assist with at the moment.))

[Attention? You misunderstand my intentions. All for the better, the less smart people around the easier things are,] Melty said.

Henrietta sighed. No point in waiting for Confuse Ray to wear off. She'd have to end this quickly.

"Try not to burn anything, but hit it if you can," Henrietta said.

Which was easy. The harmless, so to speak, Will-O-Wisp would emit from Melty's flame, aiming to burn the Purrloin and nothing more.

[Hmm maybe but then again what does that say about you?] She says as Purrloin gets ready as the the flames from Will-o-Wisp would soon start coming towards her she would quickly turn away from the attack heads up onto the ledge of a window waiting for the attack to come at her.

Coming along? Did that mean that Wayne had invited him to come train? N thought for a moment. This did sound like an invitation. But he wasn't sure if it was: no one had ever invited him anywhere before.

No. That wasn't true. The day before Salieri had asked him to go on a journey with her. He felt that her motivation was different than Wayne's, but it still came down to the same thing. Regardless of reason, they wanted to have N around. It made him a little dizzy to think about such a foreign concept.

Salieri didn't hear the end of the conversation N had with her Eevee as Salem darted back to her happily, jumping into her trainer's arms and nuzzling her head against Salieri's chin. "Whoa, easy there! Guess you had a good talk, huh?"

Salem looked up at Salieri with an apologetic pout. "Hey, it's okay. You don't have to look so sorry. I thought...I thought I was the one doing something wrong."
Salem shook her head. "Salem, I'm not going to make you battle if you don't want to. A lot of trainers have pokemon who don't fight-"

"Vee!" Salem protested loudly, surprising Salieri. She cocked her head as she held up her Eevee in front of her.
"So...you like battling then?"
"Vee!"
"But you quit before. I don't get it, Salem."

Salem tapped her paws together uncomfortably. She couldn't explain this to Salieri. Luckily, N was there to get her point across.

"Salem was never hit before. It was a learning experience for her, nothing more," N told her. Salieri nodded and then looked to Salem again.
"Guess that makes two of us. I never lost before. But now that we know how, we can learn how to win. What do you say, Salem? You want to give it another shot?"

"Eevee!" Salem cooed, nodding her head vigorously. Salieri reeled her pokemon in for a hug, which Salem returned before the Battle Girl returned eye contact with N. "Thank you, N. You know, you really should come with us to the Dreamyard. It'll be fun." And maybe I can talk to you alone again...

"I..."

N gulped and looked away to the gym. What was this conflict he was feeling? He had a mission to do. Completing the formula to save the world came first...but somewhere, he felt the urge to go with these two trainers. To take them up on their invitation and spend time with people. It was curiosity.

..No. I can't do that to pokemon. Not to my friends. Curiosity killed the Meowth, after all.

"I'm sorry, I can't," he mumbled with his eyes shifted away to the side. Eye contact was getting harder and harder for him to make. “I have to…I…”

And right when he needed a way out of an excuse, one came up to him on a silver platter: Takamaru had exited the gym and began talking to Wayne. N recognized him from the profile handed to him earlier in the day.

“Geez Wayne, you know everybody,” Salieri joked as Salem hopped out of her arms. The Eevee landed with a light thud on her feet and took a seat on the ground while wagging her tail and looking up at Takamaru.

N remained silent. His hat cast a shadow on his eyes as he tilted his head down slightly and let his arms rest at his sides.

Fast, Cilan noted as the Water Gun closed the distance on Pansage. Too much for it to complete the Solarbeam. But Pansage still had enough energy stored to release it in front of him for a short range burst, vaporizing the water gun into steam on contact. Cilan’s pokemon had closely avoided the attack.

Dali emerged from the steam cloud with the Fury Cutter attack. The lunge had been cloaked by the steam, and Pansage rolled away to avoid the blow. The green monkey got up and exhaled sharply. It felt a sting on it’s cheek where the attack had made contact. But Furry Cutter was still weak at this stage.

“Good move, but you don’t have enough power yet,” Cilan told Eunmi. He snapped his fingers and pointed to Dali. “Now Pansage, use Acrobatics!”

The shiny green monkey jumped up with a running start and went upside down almost instantly, spinning around quicker than the eye could follow towards the Oshawott at high speed with it’s tail outstretched. Pansage’s tail, if it came in range of the Water type, would whip Dali several times before Pansage would land past it’s opponent on it’s feet again.

"Hey, Takamaru!" Wayne said with a wave next to his head, "You been training?"

He grinned then bowed to the side so that he didn't stand between Takamaru and Salieri. N, too: though Wayne was less concerned about him.

The trainer glanced over his shoulder and said, "This is Takamaru. We battled yesterday," and he looked back to Takamaru while gesturing to the other two trainers, "And this's Salieri," his hand paused when he reached the next one, "And that's N."

Wayne leant in close to Takamaru, putting his hand on his shoulder while speaking in a whisper, "Nobody knows or cares what it stands for. It's a real mystery."

[That much should be obvious,] Melty said.

The Purrloin had dodged to a window ledge, meaning that the will-o-wisp would miss and do no real property damage. Maybe leave a slight burn with no risk of catching fire, but that was it.

So, it hit a trash can and burnt the metal black on a portion.

Henrietta, meanwhile, was frustrated. From start to end, her battles had consisted of things that gave her a head ache.

This reminded her of the previous night. She couldn't go all out because Avan's Yamask had hid itself inside of a building. Sure, she could've destroyed the building and, judging from Melty's overwhelming of the Yamask as soon as he'd stopped giving a ********, destroyed the Pokemon. And now Purrloin was putting itself in a position that Henrietta would be torching a building if she torched the sucker.

Melty was her powerhouse. But right now she didn't need power, she needed tact.

And for that?

Henrietta recalled Melty and released Socant. She threw the ball with enough force to send Socant close to the Purrloin but far enough away that the ball wouldn't smash through any windows.

And Socant was in the air.

"Thunder wave!" Henrietta called. Another non-damaging attack, it wouldn't even heat the windows up to a high enough temperature to risk them breaking, but if it hit it would cripple the enemy Pokemon.

Takamaru grinned as he got the impression the Wayne didn't like N all too much. "its nice to meet you both" he said with a small inclination of his head then turned back to Wayne. "but anyways, no, i took a break from training to take on this gym, and you'll never believe it but i won!" he said with a grin as he took out his Badge case and showed the three his new sparkly badge.

All the while Takamaru's Karrablast, Lancer, let him self from his pokeball after seeing a strange figure. Being the mischievous pokemon he is he immediately took off after the figure with out anyone being the wiser.

Salieri didn't have on a dress, but she grabbed the sides of her baggy kung fu pants as she curtsied for a greeting. "Nice to meet you," she told Takamaru with a small wave after. Sal guessed his age to be a little younger than the other trainers, even though he was taller than her. But most people were. Nevertheless, Salieri was impressed such a young trainer was able to defeat the gym.

"Looks like we're not the only ones now, huh N?" she said to the green haired trainer. She flashed them all a grin. "Guess I should start training again before you all start catching up."

N tried to listen in on what Wayne was saying to Takamaru, but couldn't hear a thing. Secrets. Yet another habit humans had that annoyed him. Pokemon never kept secrets. They never told lies.

"You defeated the gym?" N asked, his voice barely loud enough to be heard. He coughed lightly. "May I see the pokemon that secured your victory?" he asked Takamaru, louder this time so he could definitely be heard.

Won?

WON?!

Wayne flew back, his face white, eyes wide. When he spoke his voice was high, distressed and cracking, "Salieri! SALIERI! Can we go train now please?"

He took a step back, glancing to N as he tried speaking to Takamaru. Wayne shook his head and when stopped his expression was a little more natural, "Really. Really need to go train." I'll be left behind at this rate. "So yeah, uhh. Nice work on the win, Taka-dude." Yeah, a lot more relaxed now. "I'll battle you again after I've trained my team better, alright?"

He half turned so that he'd face Salieri, "Yo, you ready?"

"ye...yea, we will, and thanks" Takamaru said a little confused by Wayne's reaction. "But anyways, call me Tk from now on, Takamaru's to formal, thats what my mom calls me when she's mad at me.." he finished trailing off at the thought of his mom.

The silver haired youth then turned his attention to the green haired
Teen though still facing the ather two trainers as well. "Yea, you can but we gotta make it quick, he needs to see a nurse as soon as possible." he finished taking out Iron Hide's pokeball. "C'mon on out buddy" he called as the small steel pokemon appeared, dent, bruised and sore, along with the crack in his helm from the 'Rock head' attack that sealed there victory.

Salieri pouted and crossed her arms. Why did he have to be so awkward? Here he goes, getting way too into pokemon again. N's so weird sometimes...

"Sure thing. We've got a lot more competition now!" Salieri responded enthusiastically to Wayne. She backed off from the group in order to lead the way for the other trainer. "C'mon Salem, we've got some work to do!" she said over her shoulder while snapping her fingers. "See you later N and TK!"

Salem nodded and then looked up to N. "Eevee vee!" she mewed up to him thankfully.
N rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and gave Salem a big, goofy smile. Salieri spotted it for a second, and rose her eyebrow. He looked like an entirely different person when he smiled like that.

"Don't mention it," N told Salem with a wave goodbye to the pokemon and the trainers who were leaving as the Eevee scurried after her trainer. N then looked down at Iron Hide, and his expression changed entirely.

The Aron was clearly battleworn, and yet Takamaru had stopped here to show off his victory. A victory only made possible by the pokemon who was hurt. The trainer was right to be in a hurry, but his excitement was allowing him to be distracted from his goal. "You were right, you should take your Aron to the pokemon center right away," N told Takamaru. Actually, it almost sounded like a command as N said it with some sternness in his voice.

The green haired trainer looked down at Iron Hide. "Are you okay? Any serious injuries?" he asked the pokemon with concern.

Meanwhile, Salieri and Wayne would be farther down the street now, and the Battle Girl would swing her arms happily as she walked while grinning up to Wayne. "I told you he could talk to pokemon! Isn't that amazing?"

He waved at me! Isn't THAT amazing?

"Amazing...?" Wayne's hands went behind his head as he stared at the sky, seemingly seriously considering the statement. "I dunno. Sure, why not?"

Wayne looked over his shoulder but Takamaru and N were out of sight by now. He ran his fingers through his still damp hair and some of it stuck up a bit when he dropped his hand back down. Not that he noticed. Or really cared.

"Bit weird though. Everyone wants to be called by their initials these days. If I ever start asking to be called WL, you'll smack me, right?" Wayne looked at Salieri earnestly before smirking, "Not that hard though. What do you think N stands for anyway? Nathan? ...Neil? ...Norbert? I'm betting it's Norbert. I'm gonna call him that next time I see him."
PostPosted: Thu May 19, 2011 10:17 am

[no, not really, my Partner's a really good trainer so i avoided more damage than i took. Were both just sorta reckless when it comes to battling though. im more concernd with how that Panpour i batteld his doing!] Aron said to N, his final statement a little smug.

'uhg, i can tell why Wayne didn't Take to this guy, but he does have an interesting ability now doesn't he...?' thought TK, keeping his thoughts to himself, he wasnt the type to out right judge some one, he was nice like that. 'but now i really wanna know what the 'n' Stands for..'

While Iron Hide conversed with N, Spike, Takamaur's Drilbur Started to make a ruckus inside his pokeball trying to get his trainers attention to tell him that one of his pokemon had wandered off but Tk was too busy with N. [what ever, Lancer can hold his own] thought the Drill pokemon as he gave up his attempts.

Wayne did bring up a good point: what did the N stand for? "Noah? Nicholas?" Salieri listed off the top of her head before shrugging. She didn't have a clue. One of the many mysteries of N, I suppose.

"I'll be sure to smack you if you ask me to call you that. It doesn't roll off the tongue right at all," she told Wayne while sticking out her tongue at her thought. I do like signing with my initials, though. SDF. Yeah, nice ring to it.

"He is pretty weird though. I've never seen somebody that in love- I mean, that loves pokemon so much before. Maybe everybody who loves pokemon is like that." For a second, Salieri wondered if Moze could talk to pokemon.

****

Another pokemon enamored with batting beside their trainer, N noted in his head. He added it to his mental profile of Takamaru's candidacy, but he didn't show this sort of complex thought on his face.

Instead he knelt down to get a closer look at Iron Hide. He just wanted to make sure the Aron was alright. It was still possible that he could have experienced injuries that he did not notice yet, although N was being over cautious.

"Your pokemon expresses a lot of gratitude about your skills," N told Takamaru as he stood up straight again. He tipped down his hat's brim so he wouldn't have to look TK in the eye. "Perhaps we can battle each other someday."

So I can test you, Takamaru Takashi.

"But for now, you should be on your way. I'm sorry I've forestalled the healing of your pokemon partner," N apologized earnestly.
PostPosted: Thu May 19, 2011 10:48 am

"Well I love pokémon and I'm not weird like that..." Wayne trailed off. Wait, what if he was weird and just didn't know it? What was normal anyway? If he was gonna be weird he might as well get a cool trick like talking to pokémon. No wait, N was just faking that wasn't he? Yeah, of course he was. He'd be a celebrity or a circus freak if he could really talk to pokémon. He was just some kid in a hat with a ridiculous hair colour.

"Not weird at all!" Wayne bellowed before spotting an arrow shaped sign that read Dreamyard. Feeling a rush of excitement, the young trainer started to run over, "Hey! This is it! Alright!"

"Damn." Dali's endurance wasn't great - he was a beginner, after all. She just hoped he could take one hit and walk off from it.

"Keep Fury Cutter going." All Dali had to do was use the opponents force against it. As Pansage flung over it, Dali jabbed upwards to strike the monkey in the midsection. If Pansage attempted to twist out of the way, the monkey pokemon could risk being neutered. Still, the tail whipped around and smacked Dali in the face, knocking him sideways.

"Focus, Dali," Eunmi said, raising her hand and striking down to mimic the slash of a sword. "Keep it up."

A bleary-eyed Dali struck outward, continuing its barrage of sword strikes. The Pansage had been mid-air when the water-type attacked the first time, it was unlikely the grass pokemon had managed to recover any quicker than Dali had.
