Physical Description: Joh'do is a tall man with broad shoulders and strong arms. He has pale eyes and dark, wavy hair and tan skin. He has a rectangular face that makes him look older than he is with a strong jaw and heavy brows. His nose looks as though it has been broken at least twice, but based on his overly serious expression many suspect the other guy got worse.
Personality: Joh'do is fairly easy to read from a glance - he sees no reason in hiding who he is, even if others may find it unpleasant. While Honorable to the letter, Joh'do struggles with friendly. He wants to save people, but he isn't eager to be part of the herd after the fact. He sees himself more as the canine tending to the herdbeasts - necessary but very much not invited into the group while everybody is safe. This tends to make him unapproachable and even the warmest person may find themselves pushing their luck and pushed away.
He knows entirely what is expected of him and what he wants out of life. Joh'do is quick to make the call on what he needs to do - and is eager to do it. He doesn't much like waiting around and will get impatient quickly. Not just with tasks, but with people - he has a very low tolerance for being annoyed and an even lower threshold for what is annoying. He has gained a reputation for being harsh and crass, interupting others who have overstayed their welcome in conversations (or appeals) and moving things along on his own terms.
Backing up his decisiveness is a steel will that won't bend under uncertainty. Joh'do may not brim with ego, but he does not doubt himself when under fire or in the thick of danger. He lands on his feet in the worst of situations and keeps moving forward without needing time to catch his breath.

History: Johando had a lot put on his shoulders when he was a kid - his mother was the only child his grandparents ever had, and he in turn would be the only child his mother had. Being a boy, grandpa had hopes for him. Johando decided early that taking after the old man to inherit his trade was exhausting, but never the less did it for his mother. Nobody would ever claim he had much skill at being a Blacksmith, however. He was passable, but hardly anything that was life changing. But life was good - he had a family that loved him unconditionally and maybe a future to come.
It would be a different future than was planned. He'd only been a Journeyman for half a turn when he was given the choice to stand before a clutch on Western's sands. He chose to go. There would be nobody in that first clutch waiting. Nor the one after. It would be several before he would be found by Konukath - who had even in the egg been a horrendously indecisive creature.
Johando! If there is one thing I know is to be even before all is considered and weighed it is you are mine!
Weyrlinghood would have been a mostly uneventful blip to Joh'do, beyond a new bond with his dragon, except the interest that Konukath had in one of the greens by name of Alihath. In turn, Joh'do found his attention drawn to L'tia, her rider. However, Joh'do was too reserved to let anything develop - even when such limitations were lifted, and in spite of some flirting in both directions. Things would remain this way for several years.
Then Thread returned. It should have been more distracting, but served instead to make L'tia even more of a focus in his day to day life. He'd never really realize how much the opposite was true as well until a wave of illness swept through Western Weyr shortly before Vimiath rose (Spooky Clutch). As hardy as Joh'do was, he fell to it hard.
And L'tia was there for him the entire time.
Unwilling, and unable, to deny mutual feelings the pair would formally become weyrmates after his recovery. Life would be as normal as it could be for any rider.
Until an appeal from his mother, the only woman he could not deny, came along with a story about his dear old grandfather....who had apparently, in his old age, revealed the existence of a son from an affair. She wanted him to look into the boy. With annoyance, he would.
With further annoyance, Konukath would Search the young man and Josen, his uncle would agree to come to Western Weyr to stand as a candidate.
Other: Weyrmate played by Uta! Joh'do was 12 when Josen was born. Awwwkwarrrddd.

DRAGON
Name: Konukath
Age: 9
Color: Blue
Size: 31'
Physical Description: Konukath is a handsome blue - though a little thick in the body. His head is notably flatter than that of most dragons, but not concerningly so. His proportions are fairly ideal for a blue of his size.
Personality: Konukath decided early on that he was going to let Joh'do make (almost) all of the easy decisions, and he'd make the hard ones - and to this day he hasn't had to make a hard decision yet. It isn't that this blue is a lazy creature, in fact the opposite is quite true, but that there is just a lot out there to process and if left to him everything would just get a little overwhelming. Joh'do doesn't want to be a leader? Great. He'd feel the same if HIS did want to, though. It sure is a good thing he isn't drowning in choices he has to make!
However, this doesn't mean his rider controls his every action. Being fully aware that he is a dragon (and not one of biological rank), rather than a person, is very liberating when he doesn't have to play at politics or wade outside of his thinking pool. He also revels in doing things a dragon is meant to do - which means meals are just a little bloodier, and fighting is just a bit fiercer. He is a dragon who enjoys drills and even looks forward to Threadfall even if he or His get a little on the crispy side after the fact.
That said, Konukath is a gentle dragon in the downtime between hard work. He sees no reason in picking fights or getting riled up over things that are 'beyond' him.
