Kuni Kaori would be next to speak. She had been absent for most of the day, but now that she is in public again, it should be noted that her fingers are all bandaged up (though her hands are fine). Asako Sumi would be next, and she was actually smiling (as much as you can call it a smile over a smirk). Pushing her bifocals up the bridge of her nose, she would speak, albeit quietly. "The Gozoku was a triad of manipulators that had turned the emperor in their day into a mere pawn. Though they did so dishonorably, they did do much to improve the quality of life and culture in Rokugan." {Lore: History of 24 vs TN 10!}

Tamori Makoto would be next in the order, rolling a white Go stone between his fingers rather dexterously. "Beyond the Seven Fortunes, are thousands of smaller, lesser spirits known as Lesser Fortunes. Though some are prominent, many of these Lesser Fortunes are simply spirits that inhabit everyday things, like a particular stone, tree, or field." {Theology of 20 vs TN 5!}

Isawa Toyoko, sitting next to her friend Kyumi, would sit there, with a dreamy look on her face, resting her cheek on one hand. Upon her turn, she would let out a disquieted sigh. "The Doji are capable of the most beautiful poetry~" {Know the School: Crane of 20 vs TN 5+5!}

@ Jiujutsu Duels:

Sozen would pull back from his blows, certain that Ujina Denbe was about to fall. However, he hadn't expected the Hare to suddenly become airborne like that, as he was hurricane kicked in the head for his troubles!

{Sozen spends a Void Point to reduce his wounds by 10. 18 damage received. Sozen is Injured.}

The blow would twist Sozen's head to the side sharply, though as Denbe landed, he would see the Dragon whirl around. "You almost got me, but if you want to knock ME down..."

"You'll have to do better than that!"

Though apparently, the incoming blow would have left Sozen dizzier than he realized, and his fist would only lightly graze the Hare's chin! {Denbe gets a whole 2 damage. Denbe is Crippled!}

Denbe, your turn!

"Impressive, Mirumoto-san."

Denbe rubbed his jaw with an arm, keeping a guard up as he stepped backward and circled slowly. It was the least of his worries at the moment. The Hare knew he couldn't take too much more beating without a rest or else he'd collapse, and that rest wasn't coming until one of them went down. He'd somehow expected that if he'd failed to fell Sozen with that it would have been curtains. Instead...

Well, he'd put this much into it. No reason to stop there.

"Then I shall-"

The Hare charged forward, broadcasting a flying knee- and fly it did, slinging his leg up and leaping toward the Dragon clansman. It wouldn't be hard for even the injured man to guard. Denbe was hoping he'd guard, not dodge. Because when the knee struck the blockade he meant to twist in air and drop a haymaker onto Sozen's head.

Hey. He was hurt, but he was still a Hare after all.

It seems like he bought Kojiro's bluff!

@Lore Competition:
Kyumi's quite happy that she's sat next to people she knew and gots along with. However, it hasn't gone unnoticed by her that Asahina Kenichi is sitting next to that... lovely... Scorpion Woman. If only that Crab samurai were sitting there instead! She could stand it if any other woman were sitting next to him, but that scorpion woman-! Ugh! It made her a little puffy just thinking about it!

Still, there wasn't anything she could do about it now, and it looked like it was her turn to speak.

"When dealing with an injury, it's important to make sure that it isn't bleeding. If it is, you must stop it as quickly as you can. The easiest way to do so is to provide pressure directly to the wound." Kyumi stated.

@ Jiujutsu Duels:

As Sozen threw his cross, he seemed astonished at the lack of substance with the blow, as if only realizing too late that the world was spinning. This left his guard completely down as Denbe would catch him with a rising knee right beneath his chin, sending him sprawling back and to the ground. Spending a void point reflexively, he does not have his neck broken from the blow. {Damage reduced by 10, total of 28 damage}.

"Round One winner: Ujina Denbe." Kuni Raicho would announce, lifting a hand to indicate the winner by gesturing to the Hare. "Though do try to limit the lethal force, if you wouldn't mind," she would comment after-the-fact, giving him a concerned and knowing look.

"Oh... hell..." Sozen would mutter, slowly sitting up and wiping blood from his mouth, smearing it across the back of his hand. "You fight like a demon," he would say aloud, slowly crawling up to his feet.

"Didn't know... victory was... so important... to you..." he said, panting, though he would begin taking longer, slower breaths to regain himself.

After a short time, he would be ready to begin again. Mirumoto Sozen begins Round 2 with 7 wounds.
