The young man logged in.

Saya looked around and found himself in Mac Anu, then went into the town square, which was surprisingly empty.
Then, deciding to form a party, he checked his Friend List.
Everyone was on.
However, through process of elimination, he discovered that while everyone responded, Atoli's response was garbled and impossible to understand.
Like Aura... Saya thought.
Deciding he wanted information, he called Haseo and Zelkova into his party.
The first think he noticed was that Haseo's outfit had changed from calming while and gold, to a dark and monstrous red and black.
"Haseo! You look... different."
Zelkova responded.
"Yes. You see, the form you met Haseo in was the Xth form, an illegal form created by me by combining Epitaph data with his badly damaged PC Body. It's kind of a long story, so I'll tell you about it in an E-mail later."
Haseo then added, "Even though I've lost my Dual Gunner abilities, I feel oddly at peace. I always have liked this costume."
Saya thought for a moment, then said, "Have you two tried Short Mailing Atoli?"
Zelkova was, once again, the first to respond.
"I have, and it honestly reminds me of Aura's responses to you, seven years ago."
Saya was shocked.
"How- How do you--?"
Haseo responded.
"Knowing Zelkova, I wouldn't be surprised if he was there himself."
Saya became annoyed.
"That's not the real problem here! We don't know what's happened to Atoli!"
Haseo thought for a moment.
"It could be the fact that she's lost her Epitaph, though I only wonder why I haven't fallen victim to the same effects..."
Zelkova had a response.
"I don't really know, but you should probably get medical attention, just in case."
Haseo was enraged.
"Screw THAT! I'm fine!"

I have homework, so this chapter will go incomplete.

Saya thought.
I need to level up...
"Could you two help me level up?" he asked the pair.
Haseo had picked Zelkova up, with one hand, by the head.
"Say medical attention one more time! I dare you!"
Zelkova was completely calm.
"Perhaps losing your epitaph has caused you to become irratable. May I suggest yoga?"
Saya, who was currently being ignored, looked around.
"Where is everybody?!"
Zelkova looked around.
"You have a point... Where is everyone?"

about time somebody asked that question.

Haseo stood silently for a few seconds, then looked to Saya and Zelkova.
"I've just alerted all the Epitaph Users to meet us at Net Slum. Oddly enough, they were all on. I try not to question it."
Saya smiled.
"I know the feeling."

Saya walked to the Chaos Gate, with Haseo and Zelkova following.
He clicked the 'To Town' option, and selected 'Net Slum.' After a ten-second wait, they arrived.
Saya saw only one person he recognized, that person being Atoli.
However, a blue-clad--woman, he assumed-- looked at him.
"...Kite?" The 'woman' asked.
Saya looked at 'her.'
He then whispered to Haseo, 'Who is that girl?'
Haseo whispered back.
'That's not a girl. That's Endrance.'
Saya activated the teardrop-on-back-of-head emoticon.
He decided that it would be rude to not respond.
"Me?" he asked.
"Are you... Kite?" he asked, again.
Saya looked down.
"A while ago, that was true, but now, it's Saya."
Endrance looked at Saya.
"You... killed... Mia!"
Saya backed away a bit, but he believed he knew who he was talking to.
"Now, now, Elk, calm down..."
Haseo, and the rest, except for Zelkova, were confused, and voiced this.
"Elk?"
They looked to Saya and Endrance for an explanation.
Saya looked around, and sighed.
"I'm going to have to explain myself, aren't I?!"
The continued stares answered his question for him.

Saya's explanation of the Second Network Crisis, and Elk/Endrance's involvement in it was a long story, but Saya shortened it considerably, enough so that this short sentence could cover it all up, in a 1:1 time scale.

"And that's why Endrance is mad at me," Saya said.
"Any questions?"
Atoli raised her hand.
"Yes, Atoli?"
"What was Innis like?"
"Like a lump of rocks. The answer is, oddly enough, the same for all of them."
Endrance interrupted.
"But not my Mia! She was beautiful, just like she was only a few hours ago!"

I'm going to admit that Ouran High School Host Club is awesome, and I also admit to the fact that I'm watching the series again, only dubbed this time.

You know, normally, I'd be depressed by the fact that no one has posted yet, but I'm far too awesome for that.

Saya sighed.
"All right. Now that we've got that out of the way, what exactly are we going to do about whatever this is?"
Atoli's mouth opened, but no noise came out.
Haseo looked at Zelkova.
"Any explanations?" the former Terror of Death asked the hacker.
"Well," Zelkova thought, "I think the only way to solve this is to get the rest of the Epitaphs back."
"Well, I think that--" a bald male with the name 'Yata' began, before he was, for some reason silenced.
An error message flashed on the screen, and 'The World R:2' was closed.

"What was that?" the young man asked.

Holy crap!
