I'll say in the end that I haven't and will never watch the dub for sure now. This is simply because not only do I think it's NOT okay to make remarks that the CREATOR of the series carefully avoided (Germany and jokes about Jews and Catholics? NOT OK.), but there is NOTHING I hate more than ADD LIBBING to THAT EXTENT when they dub something. If we don't know who some Japanese actor is or some complicated Japanese inside secret term, by all means change it to an American one so we understand. But do NOT change "Wow, it's really foggy out tonight." to "This fog's so thick you could cut it with a ******** katana." <~Saiyuki dubs.
Basically, what it looks like to me is that Funi took Hetalia, an already established series, and milked it, shredded it, and made it as offensive as possible. That is NOT what Hetalia is supposed to be, and unfortunately it WILL make the fandom hate the fans more, you know it. Hetalia is comedy, some seriousness, all around satire but no harm.
Information about the dub taken from animenewsnetwork on the official dub panel released.
