Once again Jae and Noctis had lapsed into their own silences, this journey seeming to rake against Jae's nerves more and more. It was interesting how silent it could be if one didn't bother to engage in conversation. As they neared Yukigakure the temperature began to drop, Jae's body noticing it before her mind registered that she was cold. "I almost forgot!" She said aloud, breaking the silence. She buttoned up her jacket, needing only this piece of clothing to keep her decently warm. Jae had been away from Yukigakure for quite some time but she was still not a stranger to the cold. It would take some getting used to but it wasn't like she was staying here forever. It was just one more spot before returning home. As she breathed out the warmth of her breath clashed against the cold temperature, a fog created from the two. Jae's expression lightened up some."Kyoo!" Stretching her arms out she delighted in being back inYukigakure. "I can't wait! Sunbae we are almost there!" She said, stating the obvious. The barge that led in and out of Yuki was the only part of the entire trip that made her anxious. She wanted to touch down on the frigid ground already and see the wonderful snow she missed.

Noctis looked over when Jae spoke seeing her button up. The cold didn't really affect him much, he felt the cold all the time whether he was here or in Konoha."You see pretty excited about coming back after being here only once..."He said without really leading on to anything he was just stating what he saw. Though it seemed she was acting like her old self again, or maybe the way she acted on the trip was the real her and this happy cheery annoying girl was just a mask. But he shook his head he was probably over thinking it too much. Noctis stopped at the barge dock that led to the Yukigakure. When it arrived he hopped on and took a seat on the railing.

Jae turned her head to look at him, an overly dramatized expression of utter innocence was plastered across her features. Oh. He is a lot more observant than I gave him initial credit for. "Whatever could you mean?" She mused, her voice sing song. As they walked across the docks, Jae instantly recognized the crew that brought in the barge to and from Yukigakure. The years had not been kind to the old man who ran the barge. Jae was sure the years had picked at her as well but she of course was only heading into her prime. Jae never worried about acting her age. When she needed to she did. Otherwise she enjoyed toying with those around her. Everyone underestimated the spazzy ditz. Maybe she would do well being covert. Getting her hands dirty wasn't a problem and she really wanted to be of use to the Hokage. She owed him her life after all. Following behind Noctis, making a show of being slow about her boarding, she picked a spot to his right, making sure that the distance was spaced out enough that it wasn't awkward nor was it suggesting she was being rude and avoiding him. Jae liked her space and was sure he liked his own as well. Leaning her upper torso over the barge, her feet lifted off the ground a little, Jae leaning over enough so that she could see the water as they took off. The spray was icy, Jae's face getting numb. She refused to pull back though, unsure when she would get the chance to do this again. She felt really good right now and knew it would only last until she actually entered the village. Her past would catch up with her then. That much was certain. Maybe i'll try and visit mom... or at least catch a glimpse of them. I need to ask her more about our bloodline. It was hard learning a bloodline on your own, especially when your clan was almost non existent and you were separated from any kin who could help with the training. Pulling back a little, she turned her head to look at Noctis, keeping her arms over the railing. "Yukigakure is a place that is straight out of a fairy-tale. Of course I would be excited to go back there, being the princess that I am." She snickered at the last part of her comment, being a total joker now. She might as well try to illicit some reaction out of him while she had the chance. Jae wasn't feeling as hostile toward him as she had felt at the gates. At least he's trying to be cordial."You should remember that Sunbae. All females should be treated like a princess at some junction in their life." Her comment had a double meaning behind it, Jae giving him underhanded advice. She wasn't stupid and nor was she a little kid. She knew he was at a woman's place when she had found him earlier and if it was like any normal interaction between man and woman she knew that entering a ladies quarters was only for specific circumstances. Maybe those two were friends, if he wanted to get in any woman's good graces it was nice to remember that girls no matter how strong needed to be given that princess like treatment at least once in awhile. Maybe we are more like roses. Jae thought, considering the analogy. Roses grew stubbornly and if they were maltreated they wilted.

Noctis looked up at Jae's face of innocence."Oh nothing."He said disregarding his comment at least for the time being.While Noctis sat there he looked at the old man running the barge, he remembered when he was younger so many years ago. Noctis turned and felt the wind hit his face but he had no bad reaction to it. He actually welcomed it a bit, it reminded him so of his homeland. He could maybe actually go there from Yukigakure. He shook his head what was he thinking, returning to that place after so many years after they sent his family away. His hands turned to fists and then they relaxed. He heard Jae talk again about Yukigakure being a place out of a fairy tale."tch, more like a nightmare."he muttered softly which the wind drowned out most of the words. Yukigakure was the last part of his homeland he saw before crossing to go to Konoha. He was so young, he remembered himself crying not wanting to leave. He was almost disgusted by the memory."I'll make sure to take note of that Jae."He said watching as the inland began disappearing."It's too late to go back now..." He said coincidentally saying the exact same thing that Jae said when she was on the barge heading to Konoha.

Jae had been drumming her fingers on the railing, absentmindedly listening to the water churning angrily around the boat as it sliced through the waves. She was a little disappointed that she didn't get a reaction out of him but a las they had a long time in each other's company for her to get her chance. Shrugging her shoulders slightly she spaced out, coming back to earth the moment he uttered a quote that struck home with her. Her gaze was instantly upon his, her blue eyes sharp. Was it just a coincidence? Of course... She thought, looking at it through a realistic perspective. She had departed alone. There was no way anyone would have known what she had uttered aloud to herself as she left her home behind the first time. "You are right. Once you take that first step there is no going back." Her cheerful expression was gone, her features sharper, if only for a moment."But there is always someone who can mop up your mess." Waving her hand dismissively before her she grinned, resembling the sly fox that she posed as. Turning her head a little, she spotted the land in the horizon, the dark figure spelling out their immediate arrival. Good. Conversation ends here.

Noctis noticed how her gaze was upon him. Had he said something? If he did he wouldn't know what it was. He raised an eyebrow though when she said there would be someone to clean up your mess."You should be able to clean up your own mess, you shouldn't rely on someone else to do it for you."he said though it was directed exactly at her, it was just what he believed.Noctis looked at the land that was approaching. He was still sitting on the railing and then he got off when they entered the docks. He tipped the captain of the boat that had brought them across. The captain thanked him and then he left heading towards the gates of Yukigakure. With Jae of course in tow.

Jae waited until he had started to go before her before she followed after him, her smirk displaying the impish devil underneath her outside exterior. Poor fella. She thought, realizing that he had a sudden immortality condition. Shinobi never lived long. Especially the strong ones. If he believed that there wouldn't be a time where he would be bested and where someone would be sent to clean up his dirty laundry he was in for a rude awakening when it happened. It's not your problem. Why do you even care? Jae asked herself, shaking her head. This was what happened when she was in the company of others. She ended up getting attached despite trying to avoid such sentiments. A few days in isolation should clear that up for her once she returned from her training and exam ordeal. Jae hated the human species, even herself. It was part of the reason she wasn't afraid if she died in the first place. Death didn't scare her which made her very efficient. But you are scared of fire... She thought to herself, her inner self throwing that at her face. "Wait up!" She said to Noctis, jogging to catch up.

Jae would have run the whole way back home, anything to keep her from having to speak or think or feel. She felt betrayed almost, as if she had been a suspect of suspicion the entire trip. One that needed to be stalked. As she boarded the barge, Jae bolted straight for the highest point in the ship. She refused to look down and hid up there, waiting for them to set out and leave Yukigakure. Burrowing her nose into the collar of her jacket she stared out into the frozen water, still trying to reign in her anger.

Jae engaged in idly chatter with the crew members that came around her, inquiring why she was sitting up on the top of the bow deck. Jae indulged them for awhile, keeping herself occupied as the barge set out into the water. It wasn't long before she could see land in the horizon. It wasn't long after that, that the barge made it to the docks. Jae said her good byes and departed, heading directly home. She didn't pause for anything and just considered this mad sprint to be another form of training.

Matsu boarded another sea vessel carrying the many villagers hoping to see some of the festivities in Ikebana. While the ship was docking in the Snow village, the passengers were eager to arrive. Matsu sat idly as children incessantly asked if they had arrived at their destination and often complained about one thing or the other. Any other time, Matsu would have not been bothered in the very least by the masses but it was that particular day that he felt his humor far from his reach. Unable to get any sleep on the ship, Matsu found himself fighting to keep focused on what he was doing. It took him a few more minutes than usual to realize that the ship had docked and while many of the passengers were already going through customs, Matsu had strangely taken a look of aloofness, his sight on the distance. While his body ached of exhaustion, his mind became crowded. Thoughts and memories of his time in the Leaf buzzed around in his head like a swarm of mosquitoes, swiping one away only frenzied the rest. Stepping off the ship and onto the snow, Matsu came to find relief in the temperature of his land and the therapeutic blanket that covered him like an igloo. Somehow, Matsu managed to trudge on, finding his way to the village gates.

The new weight of the eight swords on her person gave Hitomi a new sense of confidence, and she looked forward to share with Izaya of her accomplishments and ask him of his. As she walked, she saw a figure in the distance and lifted a hand over her eyes to block out the sun's rays. White hair. "Ah Izaya! Hi there! It's been a while, huh? Good to see you again." She quickly covered the distance between them and grinned, waving hello. But movement caught her eye, and the girl immediately glanced to the tree near Izaya, where a man rested against its trunk. A sense of familiarity surrounded him, but Hitomi shrugged it off and turned to Izaya. "Friend of yours?" So not only did he seem more stronger, but he had also made a companion? The girl smiled and sighed.
