✯▄▀▄▀βlanc Ғumée▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀✯ Baby, think things through as you walk down the aisle. 'Cuz you should be my lady if you knew what hides beneath my smile. "Are you sure? Maybe you've just gotten shorter" Blanc joked as he laughed, so full of life "I haven't had a drink in a long while, so I don't know how this is going to turn out." It felt so good to be warmly welcomed back by so many familiar faces as everyone nearly piled Blanc with hugs and pats on the back. "Drinks are on this guy" he said pointing to Gabriel with a carefree smile as the bartended handed him and Gabe what they had usually drank whenever they came. Of course, even before he could start, everyone crowded around, expecting him to talk about how he survived the whole war and was still able to keep his face in tact. Sighing, he put his glass down and turned to start explaining his story, since everyone was there. "The night the enemy ambushed us at the camp us that were promoted to went," Gabe started off slowly "Obviously we were ambushed, they started a fire somewhere in the camp as a distraction. And while everyone else was scrambling to put it out, of course I kept my cool and suspected foul play. That was when they jumped out. I was in the furthest tents away, so there were fewer there. I grabbed one, pulled him in, and started to roughhouse with him, since I had nothing when we first arrived. Of course he put up a good fight, but then he got dirty and tried to pull a knife on me." Blanc pulled up the sleeve of his right shirt to show a long pinkish-white scar that went up a long way "That isn't the only one either. Luckily I eventually was able to knock the knife out of his hand and hold him down with my good hand. I tell you, it isn't easy killing a man up close." He sighed and raised the glass to his lips to take a swig. "It's nothing like shooting them or watching them get blown up from a distance. Because up close, you have the precise descion to kill them or not" Blanc looked down at his hands, then pulled out the knife the other man had used to stab Blanc that he kept to his side, taking it out of it's sheath slightly so that everyone could see "This is what I used to deal the final blow" his voice lowered, clearly he still felt guilt over what he had done to that man. "And that was when I switched our tags, because if it took that much to kill just one man, imagined taking on even just a small troop. I just took the kerosene lamp down and threw it onto the my attacker's face, so that no one would recognize him. That was all I could do." There was a sudden heavy tension as Blanc put the knife away and turned back to his drink, motioning for the barkeep to refill it as he downed his. When the music ends, you'll be with him, pledging your whole lives to each other. I cannot bear to watch his kiss seal your union, knowing how things could be instead. ✯▄▀▄▀Ғumée, βlanc▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀✯ [Layout by organizationXV] [Pictures provided by photobucket] [Lyrics: Wedding Dress - Taeyang] [Wait, I had just realized.....Blanc and Annette had to at least have met six years ago, so why doesn't her age match up? :/ Sorry if I'm getting technical.... And I can't help but think of the song Once Upon A December for her as well. ]

[OOC: No, I realized that earlier--I said she was eighteen when she met Blanc, but that would have been two years into the war. In truth, she would have been sixteen, or we could bump up her age to twenty-four// and I love that song :3]

Ah, there were so many things I wished to tell y o u , but already...it was too late, so I closed my eyes in s o r r o w. Please Look Into My Eyes Only Gabriel sipped his ale at a pace, quiet as he listened to the riot beside him. Blanc’s story was an interesting one. No wonder everyone was captivated. So why did it make Gabriel feel odd. He looked down at the counter. Blanc had mentioned the promotion he got. He sure did accentuate how brave he was too. But that was to be expected of Blanc’s story. Gabriel’s head lowered as he finished his ale, much faster than Blanc. He wasn’t even done with his story. He asked the bartender for another and drank half of that one as well. With shallow eyes, he looked at Blanc with a half-smile. Gabriel’s time in the war wasn’t nearly as exciting. He served his time as a foot soldier and came out as a survivor, not a hero. Did he mind, no, he was still alive, right? Gabriel leaned back in his stool, watching Blanc with those blue eyes of his. Eyes that held a deeper meaning. The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out You've left me in the D A R K
No dawn,
❥“Introducing, my daughter, Annette on her eighteenth birthday!” In the grand Seraphine mansion, in the middle of December, the extravagant ballroom welcomed the entire town. Annette walked down the grand staircase, her hand gliding across the railing. She wore a long ball gown of an emerald green that shown in her eyes. Scanning the ballroom, her eyes fell upon two young men; one with black hair, and one with white. She felt the air escape her lungs as she met the crimson eyes of the white-haired man. It was as if her heart had stopped beating. Annette timidly approached them. “H-hello,” she whispered, a shy blush coming across her cheeks. “I-I don’t believe we’ve met.” “Gabriel Valentine,” the black haired man replied. “Blanc Fumee,” He reached and took her hand, bowing.
“Blanc! Blanc!” Her giggles erupted as she tried to push her persistent lips from her neck. “Not here! The escort is probably watching!” “Would you just forget about him, Annie? We’ve ditched him before, we could do it again!” “Blanc, please!” The handsome young man caught her lips in a passionate kiss. She felt as though she were melting in his arms as she kissed him back, feeling their lips glide against one another. Her lips parted slightly, awaiting his tongue, anxiously gripping his forearms. He pulled away, leaving her unsatisfied. Her pink lips pouted. “You’re such a tease!” she hit his shoulder with her dainty hand, which he only laughed at. He only chuckled and pulled her arm. “Come on!” “Where are we going?” “My place!” Annette ran beside him, holding up the skirt of her dress. Once they reached his building, they climbed up step after step until they were in his apartment. As Annette shut the door, Blanc’s hands came around her waist as he kissed her neck slowly. She shivered and laughed, reaching up and weaving her hand through his pale hair. “Can we?” he asked hoarsely. She flushed and laughed. “Alright.”
Annette gently nuzzled Blanc’s neck as they lay together. “Will you remember me, when you go?” “Of course I will. How would I be able to forget you?” he laughed softly, brushing back her blonde hair from her face. She gazed over him, as if trying to memorize every single thing about him. “Why are you looking at me like that?” he whispered. “I’m looking at you, so maybe I won’t miss you as much.” There were tears in her eyes now. “Annie,” he sighed, gently wiping away her tears from her pink cheeks. “You know I have to go.” “I wish you didn’t,” Annette clung to him. “I love you so much.”
“Annette,” Gabriel sighed, putting down his tea. His posture was perfect, dressed in his uniform. His expression was solemn and hurt. “I have just received word…Blanc has died in action.” Annette’s eyes snapped open. She sat up, realizing she had been brought to her room. She held her head, trying to ignore the constant pounding; she held herself, looking about the empty room. Looking to her nightstand, she saw the picture of Gabriel, standing alone in the picture frame. She reached out, grabbing it, and took the back off. Opening her drawer, she pulled out the picture of Blanc she had tucked away earlier and placed it inside. She put it back up on the night stand. Lifting the picture of Gabriel to her eyes, she inspected it. A sigh escaped her, more silent tears escaping her. She looked down at her engagement ring…
No day,
I'm always in this twilight, In the shadow of your H E A R T

╔══════════════╗ Åbigailℛosalinda ɗawson ╚══════════════╝ "And all I do is think of you, I'm on the long road home, the road that leads me straight to you." {OOC: }▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀ Rose found herself in her room sitting by the window. She stared out vacantly as she continued thinking back on her memories, her memories which kept her company no matter how painful it was. Every now and then she would sigh softly and looked down at the window sill before looking back out the window. Rose watched people pass by every now and then, some old couples, some 'new' and those who had an expression that proved someone was on their mind since they held that smile. How she wished she could smile like that! How she wished that every smile she held was actually one of joy rather then a forced expression.
She sat there in a silent room for a long time. There was a small bed up against the gray wall, one drawer for her clothes by the door and everything else was bare. The floor underneath her bare feet was cold, the wood creaky and old from all the years it has been here. This room was utterly depressing and she wondered what it was like living in those big houses that were farther in the town. What was it like to sleep in a big bed and have a warm room in winter days. Rose's mind drifted everywhere as she thought of all the 'What would it be like' and only came to understand her status in society. She was a simple nurse that had no job and that would soon run low on what little money she had now.
Quickly that sent her straight to the thought of her mother. No matter how much she tried to not compare herself to her mother she always wound up doing so. Rose looked much like her mother but Rose has not yet reached the point in her life were her failing health would make her look hideous. Another sigh escaped her lips as she wished that she was still standing in front of the man she loved and talking to him. Whenever she did, she never thought of her past, and she never felt sorry for herself. But now that he was far from her sight, she was left to linger on her memories.
Company was a rare thing for her, only because she didn't really have friends -working almost 24/7- and she distrusted the men in the west never letting any get close. Of course Blanc came into her life and when she found out that he wasn't even from the West that sort of brought her out of her shell and next thing she knew, she was head over heals with him. A man who loved another.
Her eyes no longer looked vacant as she looked up at the sky that began to darken. "Was there any point in me coming here?" Rose murmured softly to herself as she frowned and pressed her forehead against the window. Even if she wanted to go see Blanc now, she couldn't, she had no clue as to where he even was.

Blanc didn't want to keep everyone discouraged with the depressing talk, so he just laughed out loud "Come on everyone, don't let me ruin your fun. What has everyone else been up to?" he said turning back and turned Gabe who had stayed silent almost the whole time. In fact, Gabriel seemed more distant than usual, despite the warm welcome. Was it because of something he said during the story? He hadn't even come to the thought to wonder why Gabriel wasn't promoted while he was. How oblivious Blanc was, even to the anger that would be released once he found out the truth. For now, everyone, everything was just confusing to him, perhaps life was just moving too fast for him and he couldn't catch up the time he was away. Sure he might have been more in the spotlight than Gabe was, but he'd never leave his best friend behind, because he would do the same, right? When the music ends, you'll be with him, pledging your whole lives to each other. Ah, there were so many things I wished to tell y o u , but already...it was too late, so I closed my eyes in s o r r o w. Please Look Into My Eyes Only Gabriel finally resurfaced, blue eyes lightening a little as he remembered where he was. He took notice of the silence after Blanc’s question. It was oddly quiet. That, and, the crowd around Blanc soon dissipated. No one wanted to answer that question. It was just as Gabriel thought. Everyone knew what was to come when Blanc heard of what was happening when he was gone. And what was happening only days later. Gabriel swallowed.
“Same as ever, ol’ pal,” Gabriel finally said. Everyone seemed to frown in dismay. The bar crowd went about their old business, even creating a nice hum of conversation. Gabriel’s tenseness relaxed only slightly. “This town hasn’t changed one bit. After the war, people have just tried to relive their lives, y’know. Surely, your experiences were much more entertaining than ours, Blanc.”
He finished his second, getting ready for his third. He paused, and rubbed his index finger around the rim of the glass. He looked at Blanc. “I’m getting married though.” "Why are goodbyes so precious when their meaning is so solemn?" - - - Gabriel Valentine - - - I wanted e v e r l a s t i n g n e s s, but my w i s h caused you nothing but trouble. Blanc said slowly as he could even drink anymore. It wasn't that he couldn't, but because it was just a feeling. Since the dead silence, the 'friendly' welcome back, people keeping their distance, of course things weren't going to be the same, and he felt that he should be prepared for whatever truth was going to come out. "My experiences? Entertaining? No. It was.....life-changing" he said choosing his words carefully as he swirled the remaining ice around in his glass, watching it melt slowly before swallowing down the rest of it, even though he couldn't drink anymore. Even as Gabriel announced his news of marriage to Blanc, one would have thought to have bragged about it more instead of saying it so plainly. "Really?" Blanc managed to look back up at him with a smirk, as if unbeliving that Gabe could really get a girl "What kind of woman is she to be able to put up with you?" he said as a joke, like old times. But these were no longer 'old times'. When the music ends, you'll be with him, pledging your whole lives to each other. He had an amused look about him before he slowly turned his face towards Blanc. “Oh, I think any woman would love to put up with me. I’ve been popular since I came back. But, well…” He stopped, his face going dull before returning to a much more happier appeal.
“She’s just the one for me, mate. She’s kind and always thinking the best for me and others. Always one with good intentions. She’s a bit stubborn but she knows what’s best. The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out You've left me in the D A R K
No dawn,
❥Annie held the trembling handkerchief over her nose and mouth as she looked through the black wire mesh of her head dress. It covered her eyes to disguise her falling tears. A firm hand suddenly squeezed her arm, causing her to glance away as they lowered the body into the dirt. Her eyes caught two shinning blue irises. “It’s hard now…but it will get better.”
“No—NO! I can’t do it!” The cold floor of the bathroom chilled her as she curled up on the ground, watching blood come from the self-inflicted wounds on her abdomen. The red liquid seeped onto her nightdress, the knife clattering to the floor beside her. “Come out now!” She could hear her father through the door. “N-n-ooo!” she moaned, touching the slices, her hand covered in the sticky mess. There was silence for a few moments, until the door burst open. Gabriel stood there for a second before scooping her up.
“Why the hell did you save me?! Didn’t you see that I wanted to die?!” Annette had been yelling at him for over an hour, as he continued to remind her that if she kept yelling, she would pop the stitches in her stomach. “I hate you! Blanc would have—“ “Blanc would never want you to die.” Gabriel said sharply, suddenly stopping her mid-sentence. She looked at him. Her eyes scanned up and down the tall mysterious figure over and over, trying to make sense of him. Suddenly, she began to sob.
He opened a small box. “Will you marry me, Annette?” Annette timidly felt at her stomach, curling up on her bed as she stared at the ring and the picture—then back to Blanc’s. She looked at the time. Seven—her father must have canceled the dinner, saying his daughter was ill, and Gabriel had not shown. She dressed quickly in a nice dress and threw on her jacket, slipping her engagement ring into her pocket. She rushed out of her home and began walking. Suddenly the pub door opened, a distraught looking blonde woman walking in and sitting immediately away from the rest. All eyes fell on her, then back to the men at the bar. No one spoke. Annette just looked out the window distantly as she tapped her fingers. “What would you like, ma’am?” “Winter Lager, please. Make it a pint.” She said, rubbing her forehead.

✯▄▀▄▀βlanc Ғumée▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀✯ Baby, think things through as you walk down the aisle. 'Cuz you should be my lady if you knew what hides beneath my smile. “Oh yes, because every woman just lusts for a goody-two shoes” he said with a soft laugh and rolled his eyes. In contrast to Gabe, despite his previous occupation as a police officer, he was always playing the role as the ‘bad cop’ and he was rather good at it too, especially he had something that he wanted. But Blanc listened closely to Gabriel’s description of the woman, and she sounded like a perfect woman, like how Annette was to him. It was entertaining to just hear him talk about his beloved. Maybe he had finally found the woman that was just right for him because it seemed like he really did truly love her deeply. He motioned the bartender to refill his glass again and told him to just leave the bottle this time as Blanc poured himself a fair amount into his glass before continuing. “So who is this woman anyways? Someone I know?” However, his attention was distracted for a moment to see someone familiar enter in. “Annette?” he said softly, more to himself “What are you doing here?” he asked a little louder. It wasn’t entirely odd to see woman at a bar, but to specifically see Annette after she ran away from him, now that was something he wanted explanation on. When the music ends, you'll be with him, pledging your whole lives to each other. The stars, the moon, they have all been blown out You've left me in the D A R K
No dawn,
❥Annette glanced at him, gasping slightly at the sound of his voice. “B-blanc!” Her cheeks turned a soft pink. To see her like this in a bar—God, what must he think of her?! Even worse—she was not wearing her engagement ring. She quickly glanced down at the table. “I…I just needed a drink,” she said nervously. She could see Gabriel near. s**t, she thought. She avoided his eyes. If she looked at him, she’d be doomed, finished. She would fall into his arms, weeping, slapping him across the face for making her so upset, and then kiss him. She was cornered. Annette’s mind drew a horrible blank, trying to think of some excuse to cause her to leave. She had nowhere to run now. The waiter brought her large beer that rippled out of the mug and onto the table. She snatched it, chugging half of it. She slammed it down and curled up slightly in her seat. “You shouldn’t be speaking with me,” Annette suddenly muttered darkly, her soft voice wavering in despair. She gulped. If she didn’t tell him now--! “If Gabriel sees you speaking with his fiancée he won’t be very happy.” She sounded dull, and suddenly unwilling to be near Gabriel what so ever. Tears spilled down her face as she held in a sob. Her heart was ripping—she kept her chin down, not being able to look at Blanc for even a moment. “I’m so sorry…!” She cried. The bar had suddenly gone silent around them.

✯▄▀▄▀βlanc Ғumée▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀✯ Baby, think things through as you walk down the aisle. 'Cuz you should be my lady if you knew what hides beneath my smile. Blanc was about to take move towards her until he heard the words that came out of her mouth. It was so quiet it was as if had gone deaf for a moment and her words came out like an siren, dropping the bomb onto him. It was just too much to take when all she said were but only a few words, that he didn't even react. He just stood there and took the moment in slowly. "This is.......this is some kind of joke, right?" he asked, desperately hoping that all of this was some kind of act they all put together. But they wouldn't have known he was back. It was impossible for them to have known. Still, he didn't want to know the truth, to face reality. "Gabe.....?......Annette....?" he asked weakly, wondering if anyone was on his side anymore. It was a feeling worse than knowing that you were dying, because this was the same as seeing a love die. No, not the same as seeing a loved one die, because you knew that that person still loved you even after death, this he could see the bond between him and Annette slowly fade away, as if it had never existed. Though Blanc continued to cling onto it, for it was the only thing that had kept him going all the time he thought he was going to die in the war, all the gun shot wounds, every blade sliced into his skin, every beating to his battered body. This feeling was worse than that, because he no longer had the will to live. When the music ends, you'll be with him, pledging your whole lives to each other. I cannot bear to watch his kiss seal your union, knowing how things could be instead. ✯▄▀▄▀Ғumée, βlanc▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀✯ [Layout by organizationXV] [Pictures provided by photobucket] [Lyrics: Wedding Dress - Taeyang]

╔══════════════╗ Åbigailℛosalinda ɗawson ╚══════════════╝ "And all I do is think of you, I'm on the long road home, the road that leads me straight to you." {OOC: }▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▄▀ The time continued to pass, and Rose still sat at the window. By now, the sky was completely dark from the rain clouds. The white cotton balls no longer offered her a chance to make things up with her imagination. Normally she would stare out and imagine what the cloud looked like. It made her feel somewhat at ease, but not she saw nothing but gray sullen clouds, it's atmosphere reflecting on her now. She frowned and tapped on the window sill.
Suddenly, she felt even worse, as if something bad was going on with someone she cared for. It was just like that moment...the moment in her life where the love of her life was taken from her. Perhaps it wasn't a boyfriend, but she loved her mother with all her heart. Rose frowned and sat back, slowly being pulled into the memory. As she stared out of the window, everything became hazy and now it looked as if the present had faded and the past faded in.
She sat on the floor playing with her teddy bear wondering why her mother wasn't home yet. She had something rather important to tell her and felt pretty excited about it. When she heard voices outside she already knew it was her mother, but sadly she heard a man with her. It brought her good mood down a bit but soon the man would leave and she would be able to tell her mother her news. Those thoughts came crashing down as she could now hear the yelling and cussing. Already she knew that this wasn't going to end well so she ran over to the chimney, were she hid behind the column. The moment she did, the door flung open and her mother came in, the strange man behind her. They continued to argue more and more but Rose simply had her hands to her ears trying to block out the vulgarity spilling from that disgusting man. She shut her eyes tightly and tried to picture herself else where. No matter how much her mother tried getting him to leave she could not. Just by hearing him, Rose could tell the fool was drunk and that added to the danger. She opened her eyes since nothing could take her from this very moment. Rose wanted to run out and protect her mother in anyway, but she found that she was motionless, and that her legs would not move no matter how much she wanted them too. Rose felt useless, though a child her age..should have never gone through something like this...more than once. Slowly, she slid to the floor and hugged her knee's still trying to block out the yelling and the noise of her mother getting hit more than once. Though Rose opened her mouth to protest, nothing came out. She was in a world of silence but the only thing she could hear was the negativity occurring around her. Slowly, Rose fell into silence as she managed to block everything out. She sat there, her head buried in her lap, her hands clasped over her ears. No sounds came into her ears, no longer did the sounds affect her. They were all the same. The screams, the sobbing, the clinking noise of a belt...it was all the same. And here she was...useless. The darkness was her safety, but soon she felt small cold hands on her small shoulder. She looked up to see her beaten mother with a small warm smile. Smile! How could she do such a think after all of that! Her hair was still damp from the bath she had taken, her skin still bruised.
