**The Phantom Assassin**

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir was suddenly very aware of the Queen's presence. He shifted in his seat, getting nervous. He didn't know what to say, and if he did say something he'd probably screw it up and make her hate him even more. A thousand scenarios ran through his head, all of them ending with him worse off than he already was. He decided to just start off simple.

"Good evening, Queen Macafee..."

Frost nodded slightly in response.  

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir sighed to himself. 'She isn't giving me any ground. She wants me to talk, that's not good. Leap of Faith time...' He looks up, and looks directly into her eyes, letting her know that he wasn't going to be telling her a lie and that she had his full attention.

"Listen, I know you hate me, and you have every God-Given right to. But I didn't know how nice the King was, I didn't know that those documents were forgeries, I got complacent with my contact. If I would have known what the King was like, I never would have believed my contact. I wouldn't have accepted it. The King would never take slaves, but I was told that slaves from my own home were taken, and I jumped to conclusions. But I made the mistake of believing him, something I never should have done. It's an idiotic mistake that if I hadn't done, this would have all been avoided. I am truly sorry, I acted on impulse, my actions were brash, and I regret doing it. However I am glad that I was stopped, or else things would have ended much worse. I am glad that I spoke to Fenikkusu and stole that book, leading to my arrest. Because if I hadn't, I might have already killed your husband. But it's still my fault for your pain, and I hope you find a way to forgive me."

Fenikkusu spoke to Angel through her mind. "Do you not feel it, Angel? The spark I told you about; it's growing stronger. It's very faint, like a whisper in a crowd, but it's slowly growing into a shout."

Frost's eyes shifted before softening. She gave a soft nod.

Angel growled. "Leave me alone. Until his aura turns white, I don't trust him."  

[The Jolly Victini]

Fenikkusu looked to Angel. "Must you be so cold towards me?"

Angel's eyes softened and she sighed. "I'm sorry. I'm irritated because he got Frost so upset."

Fenikkusu gently took hold of Angel's hand. "It's alright. I'm sure I would be acting the same way would Frost and Swift be in opposite positions." Fenikkusu nuzzled his beak gently against Angel's cheek. "I love you, Angel. Don't forget that."  

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir breaks eye contact and looks to the ground, hoping he made some sort of progress toward forgiveness.

Angel smiled. "I love you, too...Thank you, Fenikkusu."

Frost then walked off.  

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir let out a breath. "Damn, I really screwed this one up..." he whispered to himself.  

[Ryuzki Hygaea]

Spyke walks up to Fenrir and slams him into the wall. "Don't..you dare talk to me sister again..got it trash." He then heads to a window and jumps out and glides to Angel Island.

"... The ********?"  

[Fenrir Shade]

Fenrir contemplates what had just occurred. The suddenness of it. He begins to wonder what he's going to do now, since his Parole Officer just did a Hail-Marry out the window, leaving him escort-less. He rubs his neck where Spyke's hand had been, feeling it throb. He looks to the Nurse;

"Um, by chance, could you contact King Macafee? I wish to speak to him." he asks.

The nurse nodded as she left the room. After several minutes, the nurse returned with the king of the ice kingdom.

"Hey, Fenrir. You needed me?" S.M. asked.
