No sooner had Dawn introduced himself then the group ran into more trouble. Two Greymon and 5 PawnChessmonBlack. "Give us a buggering break..." Nicholas' Veemon had dove headfirst into battle, using it's longsword to take down one of the Greymon. Kazu shot a look to his own Veemon who grinned slyly. "We can't go letting them have all the fun now can we?" with a wink to his Tamer he sprinted towards the leftover Greymon. "Vee-Headbutt!" a blue blur would rocket into the Greymon's gut, winding the creature, flames still broiling from its teeth. "Say thanks to Yggdrasil for me!" landing on his feet, Veemon's arm would glow, suddenly a sword would realise around his hand. "Wait!? Veemon!?" Veemon would look at the white and blue blade in his hand in awe. "Oh... This is pretty." a sudden malicious look took over, "Now, go give him my thanks." Leaping into the air Veemon would spin the sword around his head before slamming in straight down through the Greymon's head, down the torso and finishing by the floor, cutting the dinosaur in half. "Way to go buddy!" Veemon would spin and hold up a thumb. "Damn right! Wai-what!? My sword!" as the attack was over, the sword would slowly dissipate back into coding. Kazu would cuss under his breath, "Looks like you can only summon it for short periods. Unlike Blitz, he must've trained with it for quite some time." Kazu shook his head, the sword was a valuable assset to the team "We'll worry about that later! Right now we've got a barricade to crush!"

Determination back on Veemon's face, he would dive at the Barricade. "Think this is enough to slow me down!?" plowing headfirst into a PawnChessmon, Veemon rocked back a fist and slammed it into the small knight's helmet, the knight's helmet would spin around as it cried out, attempting to stab at Veemon in it's death. "Veemon! Finish him now!" The little blue monster would nod. As he recovered from his punch he would land on his tail, using it as a spring-board to power into the enemy once more, his foot planting firmly into it's chest and sending it sprawling, and it's stab going wide. Kazu would glance about, there were 4 PawnChessmon left. It seemed that unless the group spent time on each Rookie then they would sustain damage as it went down. "Guys! Try to dish out more then a one shot finish! If you don't we could be in bad shape for later!" The V-Tamer would clench his fist tightly as more screams and shouts filled the air. The situation was becoming increasingly worse by the second and without access to the rest of his Digimon there was nothing he could do but try to save himself and the few people with him...

((Figures I'd be the one taking all the hits of this group, lol. Do I pop my wild card or just keep going... hmmm))

As the group continued to travel through the area, towards the exit, they would begin doing what he hated the most, bonding. It was around this time that it became apparent that he was the only dark tamer in this group. He would silently groan and continue walking until they came up to the next 'wall' of enemy digimon, this time looking a little more menacing than the first bunch of weaklings.

"Destino, let's get ready to rock!" Marcus would say too his partner, but once more... Marcus and his Gaomon would fall to the back of the group as his temporary allies all rushed in to take on the giant Greymon, easily taking them out with their 'tools'. "Hmph... Destino... go!"

"Right... HERE I GO!!" Taking into account the pawnchessmon's pointed barricade, the dog had an idea that would keep from being at risk of being impaled. "Nice try... WILD ECHO!!" Without even bothering to get in range, the red dog would release a howling shockwave at the pawnchessmon, but because of the lack of being close, his howl would barely make it past their shields. "Dammit... long range attacks don't work, what do I do?!" He would bark back at his tamer.

"Try again, but just a little bit harder!" Marcus would reply like a coach.

The group did well, all the Tamers came together in force to annihilate the Greymon and nearly half the number of PawnChessmon. "Yes! Keep pushing guys!" Kazu's determination to escape was keeping his hopes up. So many thoughts were flying through his head, about the knights, about Yggdrasil, about what would happen to the group. The thoughts threatened to overwhelm the Tamer but something kept him going, pushing all that onto the back-burner and letting him keep face. "Kazu!? Are you seeing this!?" The Tamer snapped back to reality, the PawnChessmon had formed a pyramid barrier and were looking stronger then ever.

"Heh, looks like we're gonna have to wail on 'em until we punch through!" Kazu turned to face Marcus and Gaomon. "How about it honey--" Kazu would give a cheeky wink to his rival "-- fancy a combo attack, feel free to join in!" Kazu would nod to Veemon, the blue monster would nod and run towards the massive wall. "Take this! Vee-Headbutt!" Veemon dove for the wall aiming to crash into it's centre and throw it off-balance, hopefully Gaomon would follow up with a nice attack as well. As Veemon smashed into the pyramid he winced, dropping back next to Kazu he grunted, "This is gonna be helluva lot harder then I thought."

Marcus would curse under his breath for not acting when he could have but forcing Gaomon to obey and go in for a direct attack. Because of his failure to do this, the team was now faced by a monolith of defensive power that would only seem to hinder them from escaping and avenging the fall of so many innocents.

"Yo Bro, what are your orders? We've gotta get out of here and this wall isn't helping us." The gaomon would call, glaring at the shining prism.

Marcus would smirk because the answer was simple. He would them look over to Kazu and smirk, "Fine with me, but there had better be a dinner to follow." He would reply jokingly. The only dinner he would be having after all this was Kazu's heart and digisoul on a platter, ready to present to Lucemon so he could get on with his life. "Alright Destino... team up with those other guys and bust through that wall!" He would take into account how that other guy and his Dracomon, Dawn was his name, had mimicked his and Destino's previous attempts at long range and failed just as well. He would then look to both Kazu and Nicholas, "Seems like getting up close and personal is going to be the only way that we bust through.... so you know what that means?"

"Ooh... I know, I know!!" the red gaomon would reply before rushing into the wall and jumping into the air, "We punch it has hard as possible! GAO RUSH!!!" The dog would then unload a flurry of punches against the etheral wall, noticing that each hit would make the group of chessmon inside a little more unstable.
