"WHAT?" Was what the black dog shouted out before he realized his voice was too loud and lowered it to a hushed whisper.
"I didn't do anything! Don't blame me for your mistakes, feather brain!" He growled out. "And you--" He pointed at Hel. "I didn't do anything!" How did that even happen, he wasn't anywhere near them at the time either. Of course this was Ren and well--this was Ren.
Fortunately, Tybalt, just as he turned around, spotted a book--or magazine rather, sticking out of a bookshelf and since it was thin, like the description, the black dog snatched it up.
"Oh... Mr. Simmons I found your copy of---" And just like that the dimension demon appeared, snatching up the copy of the book without so much as a thank you before he was shooed off to look for more.
"Hornz.." He finished lamely.

Although she should have expected him to be around, running into Avery had come as a surprise, and not...of the pleasant variety considering what they were trying to do here. The last time she had seen the librarian was also when she had draped him and Vaith together, and while she wasn't sure whether he remembered that incident (or saw the pictures) she didn't really want to take any chances.

...Nope, she had nothing. After a failed distraction and an encounter with the not-so-happy librarian, Xiu skittered off feeling a little more sheepish than before.

Hmm, no luck here. There had to be more thoug--
--Oh. Oh! This was the book that she had wanted to read for a while now! Eyes lighting up, Xiu picked it up from the pile, quickly skimming through the contents. She was definitely going to borrow this! Or maybe...she could just...read the first couple of pages first to see how it was?
It wasn't until she was halfway through the book did she finally look up, eyes wide. Eer, right--magazines. Oops.
It wasn't long before the black dog located another book--magazine. Only this time he did get a thank you. Or rather, he got praised. Which he figured was close enough, or as close as he'd get to a thank you from the librarian.
But really. Just how many of these did the demon have..?

The book she had found tucked under one arm, Xiu went back to searching, lips pulled into a frown as she scanned the stacks for anything poking out of them. Maybe if she was lucky, she'd find--
Her thoughts cut off into panic when she suddenly lost her footing, tripping over a large tome that had happened to be sitting on the ground. With a yelp, she went crashing down, bringing a stack of clattering books down with her.
No seriously. Just how many of these magazines did this guy have stashed in here? More importantly, how did he lose every single one of them without ever getting caught? Either this guy was a complete moron, or a genius.
Like the last two, it was quickly delivered to the demon. After all, the black dog did NOT want to be the one caught with it.

Pushing herself back up to her feet (and making a mental note to clean that mess up later), Xiu carried on with her search. There was one strange thing that she noticed in particular--a trail of crumbs that weaved around some of the bookshelves and led towards the back of the library. Cautiously the ghoul followed the lead and peeked into the room...
Only for her face to fall, her expression quickly becoming unamused. "With all due respect, sir, shouldn't you be looking for your own porn magazines." Her voice was flat, and she let out a sigh before moving away to continue her search.

Looking a little disgruntled, Xiu backed out of the room with a sigh. Okay, where was she supposed to look now? It wasn't as if--oh?
The ghoul stiffened when she felt herself back into someone, the end of her tail puffing out in alarm. Ooooh boy. Hoping that it was just Shun or another friend, she slowly turned to look, only to find herself face to face with Avery again.
..."...Um. Hello again...!"

...Not fast enough. Ears and tail drooping, the baku stood there meekly as she was scolded for knocking over the stack of books. After promising that she would clean up right away, she hastily skittered off to do so.

Okay, so they were supposed to look for some books. Thin, flimsy....wait, what kind of book was he talking about here? That sounded more like the description of a magazine, or a comic book, both things Alex had never really wasted much of his time on. Sigh, okay, whatever. If he wanted to continue to go about his day, the best thing he could do would be to go around and help out, then hopefully his once fortress of quiet comfort could be restored.
Wandering around and more just...eyeing the books scattered about rather then sifting through them for what the librarian actually wanted, Alex soon came upon an open box of donuts. He wasn't really all that interested in sweets, but he was rather hungry, and sometimes donuts had some really nice fillings inside. Jellied brains, bloodberry....either would be quite a delicious snack right now.
Snatching one up and popping it into his mouth, whole, he began chewing, wincing a little at the flavor inside, as bits of the treat began crumbling out of his mouth and down the front of his shirt.
When he glanced up, he noticed a certain librarian giving him a very angry look.
"Wha??" He mumbled, raising his hands in a defensive position as though he hadn't done anything wrong, or like the evidence was right there in his stuffed full mouth.

1: Hey! You found one -- the item is quickly snatched out of your hands before you get a good look at the cover. "Good job, kid!" 2: You manage to find a trail of crumbs. Following them, it only leads you back to Hayden snacking, who then gives you a questionable look before sending you back on the search. 3: While searching, you trip over a pile of books which then triggers the other piles to fall around you like dominoes. Great job, you can clean that up later. 4: Success! You have located one of the -- porno magazines!? The item is quickly snatched up by Hayden and you are sent back on your search. Hey at least you found one, right? 5: Apparently you are making too much noise, as you manage to alert the very annoyed behemoth. Roll 1 6 sided dice. If even, you manage to ward him off with peppermint. If odd, your distraction method fails, and you lose 5 hp. 6: While searching, you find a book that interests you. You waste half an hour reading, Good job. 7: Searching, you locate a box of unattended donuts. Consuming one, you regain 5 hp. Though, Hayden looks displeased by your actions. 8: Nothing but old papers over here. Better try somewhere else. 9: You think your search is going well, right up until you cross paths with the second librarian. Roll 1 6 sided dice. If even, you manage to ward him off with peppermint. If odd, your distraction method fails, and you lose 5 hp. 10: Whoa! Who knew the library even had such a thing in here? Oh wait, no, that's Hayden's. Looks like you found one.

When he didn't say anything, Xiu simply turned to stare at him with wide eyes, ears and tail drooping again. After a moment of silence, she squeaked, "I promise I'll clean that up too."
A few more seconds ticked by before the librarian turned to leave, earning a sigh of relief from the baku.

...Another trail of crumbs!? She wasn't even going to try following this one this time--she was pretty sure she knew who was responsible for them, after all.
There was much vacuuming to be done after everything else was cleaned up, that was for sure.

As soon as the librarian looked away, Alexander reached out to grab for another one, hiding it behind his back as he slowly began to back up. It wasn't long before he found himself trip-stumbling over the books left lying around on the ground, however, nearly spilling him to the floor.
He was getting another dirty, and somewhat suspicious look from Hayden. He gave the librarian a wide grin, and turned to shuffle away, all the while keeping the doughnut out of sight.
