As Adrian was walking, he thought he heard small steps behind him. It couldn't be another hunter, unless they were hoping to get a hold of who Adrian was following. He slowly turned his head as he walked to see who was behind him. Perhaps someone was running away. Perhaps someone didn't know he was an assassin and was trying to follow him. It was probably better to deal with this nuisance before going after the girl in the cave, as long as she didn't find anything too secretive.

Adrian spotted Diana, dripping wet, shivering, and clasping a dagger which Adrian noticed had the Assassin's marking on it. He shifted his body in her direction and began moving closer.

Diana took a deep breath, taking a stance as if standing her ground. She knew she couldn't defeat him in her state, and she was more then certain she was going to get sick if she managed to survive. She was silent as he moved closer, her eyes focused as she looked at him. She lowered her hand, grabbing a handful of small rocks as he drew closer. "Run Away!" Diana suddenly yelled at the top of her lungs when she thought he had come close enough.

As soon as Carly heard Diana's voice telling her to run away, she did. She bolted out of the cave and began to move upstream, not seeming to realize she was leaving behind the girl who had saved her life a little earlier. All she was thinking about right now was running, hoping whoever she was running from wasn't going to give chase. The rocks on the forest floor cut her feet, and it really hurt, but every fiber in her being was telling her to keep running. So she did, or at least until she tripped and fell.

With that, Adrian bolted at Diana and grabbed her by the face. He slammed her into a nearby tree, letting her bare back scrape against the rough bark. "Hmm, an interesting one. Tell me, where did you find that knife?". The assassin leader began gripping tightly the wrist of her hand that held the knife of a fellow assassin.

Diana immediately felt the wind knocked out of her, feeling slightly dizzy as she began to cough and gasp for breath into his hand. She could feel her consciousness trying to fade as she tried to weakly fight against his grip, even in her current state. She didn't want to talk, but she was running out of options. "I think... you... can guess... the answer to that..." She barely made out, looking as if she was fading fast. Her skin was still cold, which could be felt through the now-damp gloves, and she still shook under his hand. Her eyes still looked at him with determination as they began to fade, and she tried to keep her grip on the dagger.

"Hmph. Pathetic. I was hoping you would be a little more interesting, but alas you are just another that's too weak to deserve life" Adrian said and moved his white gloved hand from Diana's face to her throat and began choking her. He slammed his knee into her gut a couple of times as well while still gripping her wrist firmly.

Diana didn't seem to fight back as she felt the pressing pain, but she threw the dirt and rocks she was holding in her other hand as hard as she could into his face, hoping some would get into his eyes. The bushes began to rustle as the fellow assassin who Diana stole from emerged from the woods looking furious. Mentally, she swore as soon as she saw him.

Adrian pulled away as he spat and swore. How stupid of him not to see that. If his prey got away he would have to punish himself for making such a mistake. He then saw a fellow assassin appear out of the bushes. Someone trying to move in on his kill no doubt. It wasn't rare for one assassin to let another do all the work, then swoop in for the kill. It was dirty, but also very cunning. After wiping the dirt from his face and dirtying his white gloves, Adrian pulled a hunting knife out of his pocket to use on Diana. He wasn't about to let someone else take his precious prey.

Diana coughed as she fell to the ground, gasping for breath. She forced herself to get into a crawling position as the other assassin ran at her. She subconsciously swung her arm wildly, slicing his leg with the knife as she staggered away, wobbling back and forth as she tried to get away. He let out a scream in pain as he gripped his leg. She ran into the cave, grabbing her pile of clothes and stuff as she tried to make her way to the other side of the river. If anything, it would slow her pursuers down.

Adrian was very nimble on his feet. His weapons weren't very heavy and were stored in various buttoned pockets on his jacket. He quickly chased after Diana. He had put his knife away for the moment so that he wouldn't lose it. The other hunter seemed to have received a cut on his leg from Diana. Bully for him. He should have been more careful.

Now that his prey was armed, it made things even more interesting for Adrian. Many of his victims hardly ever put up a fight and after a while it started to feel boring, though Adrian never stopped killing those he captured. He still felt it was his duty to end the lives of those he felt didn't deserve to have them. This one might prove to be a bit more of a challenge and therefore it would feel more rewarding once Adrian finally did her in.

Diana was significantly slower then Adrian as she scrambled away, wobbling back and forth as she felt dizzy. She could feel the heat of her breath and her head as her skin was still chilled. 'No... not already...' She thought, huffing as she got slower. She lost her balance and fell over, scraping her leg as she began coughing again and again. She breathed slowly, feeling as if she couldn't go any further. Looking behind her, she saw Adrian approaching with speed. "Am I... going to die here?" She muttered to herself.

Carly had never been good at running long distances. She ran until her entire body hurt, and then she finally collapsed onto the ground in a hyperventilating heap. Her dramatics seemed to attract an audience this time, in the form of a heavily tattooed blonde who was staring at her in a rather creepy way.
"Please, you have to help me," Carly begged the stranger. "Two men... deranged... killers... by the waterfall!" It was only right about now that Carly realized Diana was still in danger, too, assuming she was still over by the river. All she had been thinking about was running to safety, her own safety. Now she remembered the girl who had saved her life and felt an inexplicable need to help her. It was unusual, what people might do in dire circumstances. Carly Baylis had never been one to help others when it didn't benefit her. The blonde only continued to stare at her, and the redhead was quickly uncomfortable. Her green-blue gaze was nothing short of menacing. Carly looked at the snake tattoo on her arm as she spoke.
"Please, help me. You have to."
"I don't take orders," the blonde said finally, and her voice was clipped with anger. She turned to walk away, but Carly sat up suddenly and grabbed her leg.
"No!" She said emphatically, and even she was surprised at the strength in her voice. "They were going to kill her! I just know it! Then they'll come after us! You have to stop them!"
"Fine!" The blonde said, exasperated. "I'll go. But I'm sure there is no danger whatsoever. You were probably just hallucinating."
"Was not!" Carly retorted, but then the other girl left and she was alone once again.

Stella hadn't gone far from the Headquarters when suddenly she came upon a girl in tears and a torn nightgown. She wasn't inclined to help her at first. Let her die like the rest of them, she thought bitterly. One of the other hunters will find her soon enough. But then the girl launched into a tantrum and Stella decided she ought to go check out the scene if only to shut her up. Besides, she still had to masquerade as one of the prey, still had to earn their trust. It would take a while, but maybe this would be a first step. She jogged towards the waterfall, leaving behind the girl. It probably wouldn't be long before someone found her.
